    Cash advances will hurt you it will always have your check messed up. It’s like a loan you’ll always stay behind doing that. I started my career with Roehl got my cdl through them and all 10 years ago I always made 1300 to 1400 net but I was flatbed and if your going home every week your especially just starting off your not gonna make money like that it’s a grind. And giving a PTA and cancel isn’t good either it makes you not dependable and no matter who you work for they can say that and prove it and stop you from getting a good job. But with no experience your not gonna make a lot of money you gotta get your experience and a clean record and grinding work ethic you will make a killing. But all rookie drivers should do your research before getting into trucking.

    As a roehl driver always keep in mind theyre a training company and if you do the gycdl with them youll be a rookie in their eyes until you leave. They changed about two years ago they got real sketchy about pay. They were ok when i got my cdl with them but cant speak on it now. Ive seen A LOT of brand new trailers with brand new damage.if you dont report it theyll blame it on you.

    • @TheBrandonBrews
      @TheBrandonBrews  2 месяца назад +1

      I totally agree. When I left and started with Marten I wasn’t treated like a rookie. Kinda almost thrown into the ocean lol. What I mean is that other companies assume that you know what you’re doing and you’re not the bottom of the barrel. I’ve also recognized that time in trucking means nothing without the quality of work a driver does. I’ve seen drivers with 10 plus years of driving have a hard time backing vs. a person with one year. Most definitely is about quality over quantity.

    I don’t understand why companies don’t give new drivers a better chance to succeed. I left US Xoress because it wasn’t worth being on the rode away from home two weeks at a time and only make $600 net.

    I did a staples account at USA Truck for that low of pay. If you know anything about staples it is the hardest backing. It's like doing strip malls. Not worth it. They were taking me off good routes to be evil. Just playing games

  • @Whyzer00

    I actually like your content and respect where you’re coming from however there’s other factors that could be affecting your pay. How many miles are you running? Do you manage your clock in a efficient manner? Are you sleeping past your 10hr breaks?.. Often times if you fix one minor flaw you’ll see results. And being new simply means you have to work your way up through the larger companies.. Now the issue is you’re tied to a contract with this company and your going to end up spending money you could’ve been pocketing. Dont take this the wrong way but the less you complain in this industry the further you go Simple

    I’m going through something similar as you right now, the pay just isn’t there. I’m solo OTR with a big carrier, however I already knew that the money wasn’t going to be there the first year in, Especially going with a big start up company. In this industry you have to put in your time before you actually start seeing the money, almost every driver went through this phase. Your first year is all about getting your experience in, after that is when you should look for better opportunities with better pay/benefits, a lot of opportunities will open up after that. I hope everything works out for you, keep trucking.

      Depends on what part of training they will have you do. I’m guessing they will have you do a refresher and pair you with a trainer. I believe while you’re out with a trainer, it’s 112 a day.

    The fact is you set your availability and the company counts on that availability.. you cancelling at the last minute makes you an unreliable driver… I am a new driver also with a different company and I would never be unreliable like that.. if you can’t support yourself with your high bills on this job than you need to leave and get a different career that can support all your bills.. it’s not the companies fault that your bills are what they are.. Sprry but you are sounding very selfishly like you expect the company to cater to you…

    • @TheBrandonBrews
      @TheBrandonBrews  6 месяцев назад +7

      Selfish for wanting miles? Selfish for wanting to work and make money? I think everybody who has a job wants these things. I was told I would gross between 1200 to 1400 a week and that happened twice in 8 months therefore I left 🤷🏾‍♂️ Also, please note that I didn’t leave because of this incident, this video was recorded back in December. I just left 2 weeks ago.

    • @justinhiner3146
      @justinhiner3146 6 месяцев назад +5

      @@TheBrandonBrewsno selfish for saying your availability was one day then backing out because you couldn’t pay your bills. A lot of companies give false numbers when you apply but doesnt make it ok to back out on your PTA. Also freight is slow right now it’s not just one company unfortunately. Hell I’m not even breaking 700 a week right now with my company but I keep my bills low and don’t have rent mortgage and extra expenses. I made sure I got my bills to a minimum before coming into trucking. You have to work your way up to the good money can’t just walk in with no experience and expect to make bank right out the gate..

      @OlympuslawnsI’ve only been out for a couple months. I don’t expect to make decent money till I have atleast a year or two of experience. I came prepared for low wages as I know you gotta work your way up.. it sucks ya but it’s that way in any industry…
