I purchased my first E-bike in 2021 and fell in love. I hadn't ridden a bike for about 20-30 years when I decided to purchase an E-bike to help me get around Chicago. Since then, I like to film the adventures I have on my e-bikes and reviewing new E-bikes as well! Contact scott@scotthardesty.net for product reviews.

I wish more of these sellers would make a seat riser. I saw this on another brand, cant remeber which one. But i think that makes these moppet styoe bikes better for tsller people. Above 6' using peddles feels kinda weird and very tiring
Also, I found nd that controller and display finicky for that price range. It looks super small
What I find mostly strange is they show a version 2.0 and then ship it with a Majore issue in the controller. How can they do that, I mean, they 100% now this issue is there. That's just bad marketing for their company if you ask me
Kinda with nder what the single battery milage is. I really sont understand why these sellers show inpy all specs for the dyal battery. When there is also an option forna single battery l, the secs dont uodate. Kinda lazy if im honest
Wish they had more xolor combos. The older nodel did have more combos
Bizarre this 2.0 has almost souble tue mileage. Speed is the same actors ng to their website. Reappy curious how they made it go from 47 to about 80mikage range
Where did you got those specs from in terms of single and dual motor usage. Their own website states 28moh?
Really weird they show lower speed on their product website. Your video really shows something different
Do you think a stock Aventure will be able to handle that kind of trail?
I have taken my Aventure 1 and Aventure 2 on many trails. It will NOT be able to handle those jumps and drops though. Here is me testing the Aventure 2. ruclips.net/video/lCKiHfGaK5I/видео.htmlsi=X5ul2HFGMwC0hFQT
Hey Scott, what do you think the max range is on this bike? Realistically of course.
I have done a distance review with this bike. I think I got around 33 miles the way I rode it. ruclips.net/video/4ouu-XAuLog/видео.htmlsi=D267DyEr0P8VJNNr
@ I know and I’ve watched it. Thank you. But the cold weather definitely affects that range so I wanted to know what it’d be like on a nicer day than todays 7° LOL
@@Tinman710 Now that I think about it. I do not believe I have done a warm weather distance test with my Aventure 2. I was out today review another bike with the wind chill at -12°
Would this bike be legal in Ontario, Canada?
Sorry, I have no idea. I barely know Illinois ebike laws. Let alone the ebike laws from another country. I'm sure it's out there on the web somewhere. Thanks for wathcing!
I.have the Zoom brakes model #H876E 2 pin. How do you adjust the throw of the brake lever for firmer feel
Unfortunately, I don't know that answer.
@scotthardesty i figured it out. The screws were so small i overlooked em. 2mm, really, lol..its all good , thank you tho
@@williamday3727 Great! I am glad you figured it out.
@scotthardesty thanks..its a Himiway cruiser, all new to me, 14k mi, its Himi in name only now, lol
Thanks for keeping it real
That's the goal. To give you real world reviews that feature the good and bad. Thanks for watching!
Can you ride the sinch 2 aventon on rain.
Yes. It is IPX4 rated.
Is the matte blue on the 2 more prone to scratching/chipping than the new glossy baja color on the 2.5?
I do not know. I am sure it is clear coated just like the Baja color but scratches might be noticed more on the 2.
Not working with my iPhone 13 (Lightning) but working with iPad 2020 using usb-c. Hmmmmm...
That is weird. Sorry, that it didn't help.
@ Do you know if there is a DJImic app that might get installed on the iPhone 13? Seems to me an app might do the trick, but I don’t see any
@@marketer70 Try the RODE Central app. I know this is a DJI mic but there are videos out there that I believe show someone using a DJI MIc and it worked. I use the DJI Mic 2 now so I don't know how else to help.
You and Monkey wrench Mike talked me into this bike!
Glad to help!
Thanks for your time. This was great!
You’re welcome! I am glad you liked it.
How did the bikes perform?
Just fine. I think they started making noise towards the end due to the mud but I don't remember.
As always, thank you.
I appreciate the support!
You should do another video with the new controller!
It's coming!
👍
Thanks can’t wait for the ride. I was wondering using it sacrifice as this is only a class two. My daughter has class but does not go fast. Do enjoy the layout of this thing. I thought it had a throttle. I don’t recall if you mention that Take care. Stay warm and be safe.
It does have throttle, it is a Class 2 bike. If you remove the throttle, it will be a Class 1 ebike. I checked the Aventon app and you cannot make it go faster than 20mph.
@@scotthardesty Oh wow - can you no longer unlock speeds past 20mph? Thought this was possible on the Soltera 2
@@deetee2730 I was not able to do it today when I filmed the review. It could be becuase the bike is new and they haven't updated the software yet. Or, it could be because of the new California laws. I don't really know yet.
Love an honest but not disparaging review. Thanks .
I'm glad you appreciated the honest review! It’s always important to provide balanced feedback.
Only question is how good are those tires at stopping or gripping the road? They also look like they would wear down easily.
I will be able to answer the braking question tomorrow when I do the full review. The full review will be out soon.
The video I’ve been waiting for - thank you!
The full review is coming soon.
Got a city vanture 20miles on it wont turn on 🤔
I wish you luck getting it fixed.
My ramp broke off of the ramp mount. From the looks of the weld it was very weak. The company wants 80 dollars for a new one. I see the the rack is around 180 on some sites. Hard to justify buying a whole new rack just for a bad ramp which appears to be a manufacturing defect.
This is first negative comment I have heard about this rack. Sorry this has happened to you and thanks for telling us!
THE BEST Review I have seen .thanks for being so thorough
Thank you! I try to be as thorough as possible.
Cold weather his hard on batteries. I loved driving mine in the snow today. I got a tuttio seeker 24. Fun to ride ebikes
Yeah man. Even though it's hard on them in the cold, you still want to want to ride them. Good for you for dealing with the cold! Not many of us will do it.
I just got one of these bikes brand new yesterday and even though in the app, I can change the speed to 28. It’s still maxes out at 20 mph.
The throttle will only go to 20mph. If you want to go faster, you have to pedal using using Pedal Assist.
@ hi how do you turn on pedal assist or is it automatic sorry for the silly question this is my first E bike
@@thedude3720 Do you have Aventure 1 or Aventure 2 model? To tell the difference, the #2 has turn signals
@ the bike has turned signals. It is the number two version. It just got ordered and put together by a bike shop like 24 hours ago. I called the bike shop and they said that Aventon has put a patch on the newer bikes and you cannot modify it even though the controller says 28 mph. You’ll never get the bike to 28. I don’t believe that to be true later today, I’ll try putting it in gear number eight using the throttle to get it to 20 and then pedal and see if I can get it to 30 because I wrote the same bike at the bike shop and their bikes did 31 mph, but it was the version one not the version toolike mine
Hey Scott .. we had to laugh when you got stranded and then you had to make a 8 mile walk back home to get your Landrover. Some cold day in Chicago .. very entertaining .. you can tell you are an Army Ranger .
I took an uber. I may be a Ranger but I am retired. hahaha
Great. It sounds like you’re gonna be the first. I’ve been trying to find anything out there other than what the manufacturer sense.
I am putting out a YT short showing the difference between the two today.
Thanks for sharing! Are you still high on the Ramblis as a good all-around light trail/commuter bike. How do you think it compares to the Specialized Tero 5? Would love to see do a comparison.
I love my Ramblas. Unfortunately, I cannot compare it to the Specialized Tero 5 as I have never reviewed it.
Is it good on uphills?
I show you in the review.
@ i saw the whole video. I did not see an uphill my bad. Let me double check.
@@binRN1992 I have it in chapters, should make it easier to find.
29:55 $20 per year, so does the bike need a connection as well like a smartwatch, or is the $20 per year just giving you access to the app?
Access to the app is free. I believe it is $20 a year for GPS tracking since it uses cellular service.
29:45 is there a battery level on screen on bike? Or if they had a notification that you have hit 50%would be awesome.
I show you the display in Cockpit Operations and how it shows the battery level.
23:48 so it you sit down for lunch, someone steals it, unless they go, let's say out of the city, the bike is locked 🔐, NICE!
If you lock the kickstand, it will stay that way until you unlock it. They will not be able ride it away, they would have to carry it.
Wish that alarm beeping could be a different tone. Doesn't feel like it would deter someone from taking it.
from the product team "if the bike is moved it just does the three beeps and then if you mark the bike as "lost" / stolen it will beep continually while displaying an error code disabling pedal assist. This is not going to be comparable to a car alarm or similar but it will continually beep and not allow the ebike function to be used" When you are in the app do you have the service turned on so the features show up and you can track location?
If you say, that this thing needs max 7h with a 2Ah charger, it’s just two 672Wh (@48V) batteries. And it makes sense as this shape of batteries doesn’t contain as much cells. Also the 40Nm. 40Nm on a 1500W motor?! That make no sense at all. Even 750W motors are around 80Nm each. Something is very off with this bike.
I agree with you about it only having 45Nm of torque per wheel. Since it didn't have that info on the website, I asked them directly and that is what they told me. By the way this bike performs, it has more than 90Nm combined torque as you could see how aggressive it was in the sand/snow and hill climbing. Ugh! I totally messed up the charging time. It takes a 2ah charger to charge a 20ah battery in 10hrs, not 6-7. I can't believe I messed that up!
I’m amazed that your bike is still there
Luckily, it was too cold for thieves to be out.
Have you heard anything about the Soltera 2.5. I’m beginning to think this might be really interesting.
I am in the process of reviewing it RIGHT NOW. Review should be up NLT Monday.
The only thing I miss about the throttle being on the right hand side is when I’m taking a left turn lol
hahaha. Small adjustment.
Hello thanks for the video and test review of the express 750 My question here is it looks like you did a pretty standard spirited ride for 26 miles that you rode and you tapped out the battery!. I'm glad I saw this review because one of the reasons that I am getting an electric bike is to Traverse miles quicker than my manual bike and my normal commute is around 30 miles round trip. Now I can't really tell if you were in Pas 1234 or 5 for the majority of the time or was it a combination of those and throttle. The Price is Right if I want to ride slower I could probably get more miles out of it but it's a little discouraging to have a tap out at 27 miles give or take. I guess what I'm really asking here is did you use the throttle more than the pedal assist. If that was a little bit clearer that would give a better understanding of how long that battery lasts thanks again for the video in any comments coming back
I was in PAS5 the entire time I believe. I push these bikes to show worst case scenario. I used mostly PAS. Some throttle but that is mostly when I take off from a stop. Climbing hills and riding in the sand really takes a toll on the battery. If you ride this normally, you will easily get over 30 miles per charge.
Thanks for that bit of info. I normally start off in the Eco Mode then I move into pas 2 or 3 with occasionally in pas4 -5,, good to know that it's just like any normal usage drain. I tend to conserve my battery usage when I'm heading out and see how the weather changes so I will have enough gas to get home . Thanks again
Yay! I just ride mine for the first time and 20 was meh havent tried after using app but its going to be awesome
I am so glad you found out about that!
Usually just one 48 volt 100 watt motor is around 80 to 90 nm of torque. You sure 45nm for each motor is right ? Seems low for a geared hub.
Yes. I am right. I asked the company directly. I also thought it was low but those are the numbers. I don't like to give out wrong info, so I always send a list of questions on the specs to the manufacture to confirm.
Another great review! How does the Sinch compare to the Hey Bike Ranger S, particularly when it comes to power/battery life?
Well, the Ranger S has way more power than the Sinch. It can also go faster. It is way more agressive than the Sinch as well, but with that, both bikes went the same mileage during my testing. If you want to cruise around, the Sinch 2.5 is the way to go, if you want to Race around, the Ranger S is one to choose.
@scotthardesty thank you. Sounds like Ranger S for me and I plan many mods/upgrades.

I have been looking at the folding Sinch 2 and now this one. Thanks for a great and informative review! I am 5' and am wondering if the handlebars are able to tilt towards the rider at all, to make it an easier and more comfortable reach for us short people!?? This looks like a perfect bike for me and my trailer camping, other than the weight.
You are able to lean the handlebars!
@scotthardesty great thanks!! Also, for a senior, shorty "chill and enjoy the scenery" type rider, out of all the bikes out there, would this be a good choice? I have been pondering the Rad Expand 5, Lectric and Six Three Zero folding bike? Just looking for your thoughts? So many choices and it overwhelms me but this Sinch 2.5 looks good!!??
@ Sinch 2.5 is an excellent choice. My wife rides like you do. She made the Sinch 2 “her” bike. She has now taken over my Sinch 2.5

Awesome bike! Best be careful riding on south Lakeshore! Not only do you have to worry about the urban knuckle heads robbing you, now you have the Venezuelans 😅😂
❤❤❤you the best teacher and public relations person I've met.❤
hahahaha. Thanks!
Needs bigger hydraulic brakes to be safe! Also, upgrade controller to get more oomph outa that weak motor! Nice review, subscribed. 🙂
I agree! Thanks for the sub!
Scott in slippery conditions like snow covered sand it's better to take advantage of the throttle follow feature of the PAS to limit the speed and power so the front wheel doesn't spin as much and lose traction. that's a time you don't want to use PAS 5 power levels
I agree after doing that test. That is why I dropped to PAS 3 on the hill climb.
