    Hello Scott,
Well that's an interesting bike for sure. When I read it was a mid-drive bike, I knew it was going to be a hill climbing, torque machine.
The color on my monitor looks green but it may look different in person. It's odd that it doesn't come with an electric horn or even a bell. An oversight maybe?
That bike is super smooth and super quiet. It's quite unique being a 10 speed with dual sensors. I've never heard or seen a bike that switched itself back and forth between torque and cadence sensors automatically. This technology just gets better and better.
I thought this bike may struggle on the sand with those thin tires. It most likely would just spin out with that amount of torque and skinny street tires. This bike is made for pavement commuting and does that very well.
When I first seen the bike I thought that front tube looked so thin that it was housing about a 10ah battery. I was surprised that it could hold a 14ah. I do wish it would've gotten a bit better mileage having the torque sensor but as you said it was windy and you did put it through your normal battery of test. I bet on a less windy day, under normal use on pas 3, it would do 40+ miles easily.
All and all a good bike, if not a little pricey but how many bikes, with these features, are there on the market right now? Maybe they didn't put cruise control on it because it would mess with the automatic dual sensors, I don't know. It would be nice if the rider could switch between cadence, torque or leave it in automatic. Does it have an app? Maybe this bike could be upgraded through software updates?
I think this bike would be good as a mid range commuter in a hilly terrain, it's definitely unique and I do like that it's UL Listed and has an adjustable handlebar stem. The only thing it could use, like you said, is a horn or a bell and maybe a suspension seat post seeing that it's a hard tail.
Thanks for your excellent and thorough review as always. Chicago looks beautiful. The skyline looks awesome with the sun shining down. A beautiful day for a bike ride, it's no wonder the people were out on such a beautiful weekend. Not too many nice weekends left to enjoy before old man winter ❄ hits.
Take care, enjoy the weather(while you can 😊) and see you in the next one. Also, thank you for not sporting a mini skirt 😜. Much appreciated! -------Steve.

Thanks for you comment (as always), I do think I could get away with wearing a pair of "silkies" for my review. I would just have to find a company that wouldn't mind having a totally ridiculous review... hahahaha

Nice bike. Love your reviews. We have similar size builds so I really appreciate your tests because the are more "real" for me. I am looking for a new ebike ( I have a 1st gen Aventon Aventure) because my current bike is just so big for some trips. It's a great bike but just overkill sometimes. I am looking for something like this. It is on my possible list now.

I'm glad you found my review helpful. There are some new cool bikes coming out that I will be reviewing as well, so you might want to hold off for a bit.

Hey scott. Been looking for my for ebike and have really enjoyed your content throughout my search.
Currently considering the pace 500.3, discover 2, or the radkick.
Haven't seen much about the RadKick anywhere. Any chance youll be reviewing one soon?

Thanks for watching. I haven't been approached by RadKick. I can tell you that the Velotric Discover 2 is still my #1 choice for a commuter ebike.

I've seen a few forum comments where people that tried both preferred the AIMA Santa Monica to the Discovery 2. I haven't tried the well received D2 myself, but have ridden the Santa Monica and liked it a lot. Hope you get a chance to review this one, Scott. I think it would do really well on your hill test.

Would love to see a companion review of the belt drive version. Did you have to use your gears a lot with the mid-drive motor? Ive read with a mid drive that if you come to a stop you need to be in a low gear to get going again, like on a non-powered mtn bike.

      @scotthardesty  Месяц назад +2

I did use the gears alot and yes, you are correct, you need to drop gears when you stop but I am used to using the throttle to get me going then switching to pedaling.

looks like you had a awesome day for a long ride. Great video as always. But damn $2500 is a bit too much. Ill just stay with my 60ah Eahora Juliet. 👍👍👍

For the same price, get a much better specc'ed (name brand, easily upgradeable & easy for LBS to service), full suspension Himiway A7 Pro with a lot more dealer support. I have over 1,700 miles on mine.

I will have to check that bike out.

@@scotthardesty much better brakes and fork on the A7 Pro. Like the option of the belt drive on the Vtuvia. Better overall, name-brand components on the Himiway and the support network. The A7 Pro is definitely more refined, too. I've taken it up to 31 mph on pedal assist, and the display is built into the frame. It looks an rides nice!

Since when is Himiway a name brand?! Name brands are something like Cannondale, Focus, Specialized, Giant, Bulls, Canyon, Cube and the list goes on and one. But not Himiway. Himiway is a cheap China bike company that is now trying to step up, but they're far far far away of being a name brand. They're one of those typical China bike brands that are in danger to be gone in within the next 2-3 years. They might be operated from the US, like Rad etc. but these are no companies with own factories. Sorry for the little reality check, but we should be honest about some terms. I personally wouldn't buy a fully from a China bike company. Keep it simple, hardtail + supension seatpost, but not that quirky construction of the Himiway.

      @@scotthardesty
There are a number of alternatives with either bigger or dual motors, with much more AH batteries, that more than compensate for the advantages of a mid-drive. I do love the torque of a mid-drive, but do you *need* 175NM to get up the next hill? I'd rather worry about getting where I want to go, comfortably, and with more versatility and distance. I do like the ten speed also, which isn't an industry norm, but that is only one data point.
I did not come here for a debate, and if you do the market research, and watch the reviews, what I said was an excellent point on its own merit.
Better options at better prices, so still, no, thanks.
Of course, that is JMHO, YMMV.

@@casperimprovedintransition8002 I appreciate the input. Also not here for a debate. No matter what bike I review, there is always a different with better options, pricing, or components. I just present the facts and let everyone make their own decision. Thanks for watching!

Appreciate the review. I actually purchased the bar end mirror you use based on seeing you put it on so many of the bikes you review - figured you wouldn’t use it if it wasn’t any good and versatile.
BTW, what’s up with the girl wearing the mask on her chin while outdoors on the volleyball court? 🤔
