Your reviews are AWESOME!!!! I just bought one of these(750Xpressdual battery) thanks to your reviews! While waiting for it to get here I'm looking at getting another! LOL Question at 5'9" do you think raised bars(2")would be more comfortable for it?
Raised bars are always a good choice if you want to sit up higher. I would also suggest an adjustable stem as another option and it takes less to work to get setup. Plus you can adjust it to get it just right for your riding preference.
I’m a fan of Lectric bikes and their awesome customer service, but I ended up passing on this one. The motor noise and some of the cheaper components were dealbreakers for me. I think their 500-watt version may be quieter, though. I wanted something lightweight for workouts, so I went with the Velotric T1ST+, and I’m really happy with it. That said, I also have a first-gen single speed Lectric XP Lite and it handles hills better than my new T1ST+. Somthing I didn't expect.
I do mention that the motor is pretty loud so I can see how that might turn some people off. I have not ridden the 500w for comparison. Good to hear you found a bike you love! My overall favorite bike is also the T1ST+ as a fitness bike. With that said, something about this bike I really like and I can see me riding it or sharing it with friends.
Hey Scott, Another great Lectric bike. Built well, performs well too. Quite the hill climber and sand runner. Lectric puts so much thought into the design of their bikes. This bike has everything you would need if you're looking for a commuter ebike as long as you get the fenders with it. It's awesome that it has a strobing option for the headlight and taillight. Good stuff. Many people are happy with their Lectric ebikes and I can see why. Quality bikes at fair prices. Great review Scott. You look like you really enjoyed this one. Just add a bell and you're set. Btw...do the tires have a brand name or do they just say Lectric on them. I imagine someone makes them for Lectric. Thanks Scott, bundle up and enjoy the ride. 🚲 ----------------Steve.
Nice review - as always. I have one of the Lectric XP 1.0 bikes that I bought from my neighbor and this might be a nice upgrade. Thanks again for all the info you provide. One question, how do you keep warm on a 40 degree ride? I find that when it’s colder than maybe the mid 50’s it can be pretty uncomfortable with the wind chill effect.
Hello thanks for the video and test review of the express 750 My question here is it looks like you did a pretty standard spirited ride for 26 miles that you rode and you tapped out the battery!. I'm glad I saw this review because one of the reasons that I am getting an electric bike is to Traverse miles quicker than my manual bike and my normal commute is around 30 miles round trip. Now I can't really tell if you were in Pas 1234 or 5 for the majority of the time or was it a combination of those and throttle. The Price is Right if I want to ride slower I could probably get more miles out of it but it's a little discouraging to have a tap out at 27 miles give or take. I guess what I'm really asking here is did you use the throttle more than the pedal assist. If that was a little bit clearer that would give a better understanding of how long that battery lasts thanks again for the video in any comments coming back
I was in PAS5 the entire time I believe. I push these bikes to show worst case scenario. I used mostly PAS. Some throttle but that is mostly when I take off from a stop. Climbing hills and riding in the sand really takes a toll on the battery. If you ride this normally, you will easily get over 30 miles per charge.
Thanks for that bit of info. I normally start off in the Eco Mode then I move into pas 2 or 3 with occasionally in pas4 -5,, good to know that it's just like any normal usage drain. I tend to conserve my battery usage when I'm heading out and see how the weather changes so I will have enough gas to get home . Thanks again
Thanks Scott for the informative reviews. I live also in IL and read that on forest preserve trails an ebike is allowed with max power allowed should be less than 750W. I was thinking of getting the xpress 750 is it fine o use in IL trails given it is 750W. Thanks
When I tested the XPeak, it was off road, so I can't really compare the two yet. The XPeak is being sent to me for a full review but I can tell you that thinner tires always makes the bike feel faster and more nimble.
Seriously considering. Only concern is rigidity. You said you're 238 I'm 250 -- 6'2". Think It'll be OK? If I buy, I'll use your link. Thanks for review.
If it is really hilly, I find that a bike with a mid drive works well. Check out this review on this commuter will a mid drive motor. This bike is a climbing beast. They might have some black friday deals as well. ruclips.net/video/LT6C0tyu4fk/видео.htmlsi=1O-l11W7JHBCNEjv
I have this bike. Street tires are a little slippery off road. You will fil more confident with a dual purpose tire off road. The lighter weight of this bike makes it more appealing on road and off road. The street tire is great on road.
@theresejames8826 I have a question about the PWR torque sensor. When you are in a given PAS level, and you pedal with a high cadence to get up to, say 18+ mph, and then back off to a slower pedal cadence, will the bike slow down like a typical torque sensor, or hold that 18+ speed like a typical cadence sensor?
I have not done a full review on the XPeak yet, only the mtb test, so I can't really compare. So far, I like the XPress an awful lot but I have also spent more time on it. I guess it really depends on how you plan on using the bike.
That depends. If you want a step thru, the ability to switch between cadence and torque sensor, and turn signals are important to you, the Discover 2 is the way to go. If you want a step over and the the other things are not important to you, the XPress.
First, the bike isn't waterproof and you'll void the warranty if it gets wet. I decided to go another way with the Velotric Discover 2. It's waterproof, UL listed and meets critical firesafe protocol on the battery. It's fully loaded with features too.
I checked with Velotric. they don't say its waterproof, it is IP65 rated. It can handle being caught in the rain but I wouldn't do a dunk test with it. I also have the the Discover 2 and proved that it is waterproof by dunking it underwater for 5 min. Thanks for watching!
@@scotthardesty Scott, speaking of the Discovery 2, I think my first ebike will come down to either the D2 or this Xpress 750- I need to search an Xpress out in my area to try. I won't ask your favorite, but do you have pros and cons when comparing these two bikes since you liked both of them?
@@robmaxwell3678 Basically, the way I see it. If you want a step thru, the D2 is going to be better bike of the two. Also, the D2 can change between cadence and torque sensor, and it has turn signals. If you want a step over bike and those other things are not that important to you, the Lectric Xpress.
That's silly. The bike would go 60 miles if you keep it PAS 1, stay on flat land, make sure the bike is in class 2 mode, no wind and with a rider that is about 150lbs. This is how ALL OF THE COMPANIES come up with the max distance. While these companies show the farthest distance with the best scenario, I show how far the bike can go under the worst conditions. They show one end of the spectrum and I show the other.
Companies always explain their e-bike capabilities. As per Scott's reply, if you were to ride the bike with the companies suggestions, then you would get close to what they suggest/say. But to sue them when there are many other factors to take in to consideration, would be pointless. It's a win win for them.
@@heeeeeresrossy Pas 5 I get 20 to 25 miles. I'm 5'4" 130lbs. Flat ground mostly Maybe one hill. Only throttling to pick up speed after a stop light or stop sign. I stay in gear 6 and 7.
