Bucaramanga it’s ok. Boring like crazy, the people in Bucaramanga are the least nice people in Colombia, as foreigner you would be fine, but there isn’t much to do around. Having said that, crime has increased quite a bit this year due to drug gang wars..

Regarding your comment about the South of Brazil, Italians and Germans did NOT, "fly down there after WW2." They came on boats starting in the 1850s (Germans)1870's (N.Italians). Most of the Italians that came to Sao Paulo State, arrived between 1888-1902. They came on boats, 3rd class. Even those who came after WW2, came on boats, arriving in Santos.

I agree, Mexico is awesome. I've spent 3 months in Colombia and 1 month in Mexico. In my opinion you are exaggerating the extent which Colombians dislike foreigners. In my experience everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I did a hostel exchange in Manizales for 2 months. I think only in Medellin do foreigners have a truly bad reputation. However I agree with your video. I actually like mexico a lot more than Colombia. If I could do it over again I would have spent 3 months in Mexico and gone to Brazil instead of Colombia. Colombia is overrated in my opinion. Bad food, unsafe, no real culture.

For the chicken try Chooks to go. Its more bbq / natural flavor of chicken. Phillipines have mix of western and asian good. If u go food court try a sizzling plate of beef or chicken u can skip the rice and just order more meat. Philippines is also not a big health/gym oriented place that is readily available. There is stores like that but rare and gota look around bit expensive 2.

I agree with the food and conveniece brought by good infrastructure in thailand. But when it comes to a peaceful, relax and beautiful nature Philippines is way better than thailand especially the beaches and other bodies of water PH has this highest level of adventure when it comes to nature. I can debate on that.

Pinas has generally terrible infrastructure and terrible poverty . Also it’s definitely more expensive in pinas. Food is a very big deal and pinoy street is very bad and unhealthy. The servings are also half the size of Thailand’s. Accommodations are far better and cheaper in Thailand. However , you simply can’t beat the pinoy people and especially the women. Also they all speak English fluently as it’s the language of instruction in schools from kindergarten onward. Pinas is also far more congested. There is probably 1/4 the roads per capita compared to Thailand and they are absolutely insane with traffic. Zero rules but there an unwritten code of conduct which helps it work a BIT. LOL You’re never accepted into the society / culture of Thailand but your certainly are in pinas. Thai women don’t go as high in age that’s why there’s way more older guys. Thai woman and people in general are much more money focused LOVE FILIPINOS but can’t live there. It’s total chaos in all the cities and quite dirty and with very bad infrastructure in most but a select few areas in some cities.

US is very class based. In Junior High school, people who are popular are ones that can afford name brand clothes, you are teased if you get your clothes are Walmart. If anything, Latin America in general are not as "class" based.

These are some authentic stories man. Thanks for sharing. People really can't know the culture and day-in-day-out situations without having the balls to visit and taking some calculated risks. Also it is a machismo culture. The biggest meanest dog gets respect. The west it's the opposite. Personally I prefer this way in Latin America and every real man does. In Ecuador I was out on a long ruck down a sea side highway and two dudes approached me with a machete. I reached for Ka-Bar TDI which I always carry when in risky locations. I thought to myself, man, f*ck these *ssholes. They might cut me but they ain't walking away if they pull that machete on me. I faced towards them with a mean look on my face while starting to smile like I was into it and shook my head. They looked at each other and turned the other direction. Glad they walked away, but I did make the decision to bury them out there if they made a move and I think they picked that up. Love the stories man, keep em coming!

I lived in Latin America for years. Let me tell you, there were more oddballs and dangerous expats hovering around there than you would imaging. Many were pro scammers for this or that item....usually real estate. Lots of get rich quick scams. Also, lots of obese foreigners looking for love, and actually thinking they were a catch because they had some money, which usually ended up with one of the girls! LOL! Most of these oddballs lost their money and were gone in a few years the majority of the time. Seems like SE Asia is no different in my brief observations visiting several different countries in that area of the world.

Most foreigners do not take the time to observe and adapt the Thai way of life, a slight inconvenience and its all over for them and they quickly abandon the boat, they can't live past the honeymoon phase of life in Thailand. The west produces the highest number of Karens in the world compared to Thailand which has least, complaining, wanting to see the manager is RARE in Thailand. Western way of life does not prepare you for life when it throws curve balls at you.
