Добавлен 2 май 2011
We are Glynn and Rose, a family that embraces the freedom and flexibility of RV Living. When our lives changed dramatically in May of 2020, we decided to sell our home, most of our possessions, and our business to pursue a long time dream of downsizing, living debt free, and traveling the country in an RV with our two boy's. Sometimes a life RESET is necessary to realize what's really important to live a fulfilled life.
Building and selling our previous business gave us the insight and mental attributes required to reset our journey in 2020. Now we're sharing those attributes to help you reset your journey!
We hope you join us on our journey and embrace the “Reset Traits” we share while you prepare to reset YOUR journey.

RV Trailer Wheel Bearings Overview- REPLACE and GREASE PACK | RV Living | RYJ
I had after market shocks put on my fifth wheel. Now iam getting uneven tire wear on both sides of the tire.
Too many new variables to know the cause without a visual. I hope you can easily find a solution without spending too much.
PS re: Television - in the black bag with all the booklets, you have a "cigarette lighter plug in connection" to replace the regular plug. It can then be plugged in the back of small cabinet. TV then works while boondocking. I just replaced mine with that instead so kids can use as needed!
I had a feeling that was the case, but didn't want to say without further investigation. Appreciate the comment and you following along. Wishing you well!
I have a dragon to and he does not like me
Sorry to hear that.
Did you ever have any maintenance / reliability issues with your previous F250 diesel engine. I’m thinking of getting the ORV 19MKS (5650 dry / 8250 max).
Good to hear from you! No we never had any real issue with the 250. In fact, we regret letting that truck go. The van is nice, but we didn't know how good we had it with our first ORV and truck set up. What you're describing will be perfect. Hope you're doing well!
@@ResetYourJourney We were originally planning to go full time, but decided on doing several smaller 1-2 month trips instead. Still can come home when we want. I hope you enjoy your new van, but if things don’t work out, hopefully you can try something different. How’s the new drummer coming along? I have a Yamaha set I bought 24 years ago.
@FreeBirdUSA you're making a wise choice. Taking 1-2 month trips is very comfortable to us and has close to the same feeling as fulltime. Appreciate you asking. Our drummer is a natural. He crushes his lessons and jams out on his Roland set daily. He was obsessed with Neil Peart at a very young age, so he was destined to play! Wishing you happy drumming and travels!
Thank you for this! I'm getting ready to adventure with my four-year-old blue-tongue skink, Daisy, and I want the best set-up and life for my buddy. Your video is SO helpful. Great idea with the hand warmers! Max is so awesome, what a cool dragon dude. And you guys take such good care of him! <3 Happy travels!
We really appreciate the kind words. You're skink is definitely family and will love the adventures! We wouldn't do anything differently. I'm so glad we were able to help. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you and Daisy all the best!
@@ResetYourJourney Thank You! 🤠🦎 Looking forward to checking out more of your content.
Thank you so much!
Great Video - was hoping to learn about axel ratios. Safe travels.
Thank you! I wish I knew more about axle ratios too. I was only willing to discuss aspects for which I was confident. That said, that will make a great future video when I learn more and we switch back to a truck and trailer. Appreciate you commenting and following along. Wishing you well!
My 2020 F250 a 3366 payload with the 7.3L gas engine and I have no issues towing up the Colorado mountain passes
When we switch back to a trailer, we will strongly consider the 7.3. It's worthy of the same job and as you pointed out, a much better payload capacity. Appreciate you commenting and following along. Wishing you well!
They do absorb water through their skin just thought I would point that out like your video
Correct. Another reason Max loved his baths. Appreciate you commenting and following along! Wishing you well.
I just found you and then this 😢 I have been a full timer for 2.5 years and looking for an Outdoor RV
I hope you find a used ORV. We miss ours A LOT! After we finish with our Roadtrek, we'll likely return to ORV. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you all the best!
I thought fenders rather than bumpers
Your guess is as good as ours.
Didnt need to remove the wheel to do this. In fact, drum/hub is easier to turn with the wheel on.
We've learned a lot since doing that video and now only repack our bearings by hand. Appreciate you commenting and following along. Wishing you well!
Very informative and well done video.
Many thank yous! Hopefully it was helpful to you. We really miss our ORV! Wishing you well and appreciate you following along.
Cool
Thanks!
I snowbird every winter and realy enjoy that. I like to have a comfy home to come home to though.
We're definitely working our way towards permanent a homebase. Lots of variables delaying our progress, but they're still worthwhile variables. You're style of snowbirding is the most desirable. Appreciate you commenting!
If i can make one suggestion i like to test each grease zerk before installing, i had a few that were plugged right out of the box. So pre fill the wet bolt
Good suggestion Bob. Appreciate you watching and following along! Wishing you well!
Hello hello!! It is awesome to see you all back in the saddle!! Whooaaa....and I knew others in the video too!! hehehehe. The 18,000 steps while riding in the back of the van is hilarious/not hilarious. Ughhh...I am sorry your boys have to endure that. If it means anything to them, just tell them it is like an everyday flight into the Telluride airport. I know your van is somewhat temporary. But, I can't wait to see your adventures in it!! Vans were something that Heather and I pondered in the beginning of our considerations in about 2019 or early early 2020. But, like you, we are in the boondocking phase of life; and the travel trailer design is what has worked the best for us. But....I really dig being able to go straight from a maintained national forest dirt road to downtown of whatever city you are close to and being able to attend a music performance; and then being able to sleep right that. We generally can't do that in our travel trailer. Thank you for the campground tip for up in MA!! Like you, I do prefer camping out in the woods and deserts on free spots where I can also relax while my dog is running around. But.....being a dude that will talk to anybody that wants to talk, the occasional visit to a campground is great too. That is really awesome that the one you stayed at was so great!!
Always great to read your comments Alan! Van life is both fun and challenging, which we hope to showcase more. The boys will tolerate it for now know it's a segue to the next chapter. The MA campground really was well done. The owners should be proud. As always, thank you so much for following along! Stay well Alan!
Ditto the other comments - it is good to see you enduring a camper van that allows you to get out and camp. It is not about the size of your space, it is about your time together.
Well said Robin! Appreciate you reaching out! Hope you're well.
😂😂😂 It was so funny watching the boys bounce in the back. They were getting some air time. I couldn’t stop laughing. I missed watching your videos. Hope you enjoy your new rv.
At their age, I would probably have enjoyed the "air time" in the back! Awesome to hear from you again and we appreciate you hanging on. Stay well!
Nice to see you all!
Hi Karen! Blast from the past! I hope all is well and appreciate you watching and following along!
No matter how tempting it may be, be sure to first wake up your teenager and get him to crawl down before lowering the pop top.
Ha! What a great visual! Always great to hear from you!
Welcome back family! G, great news on the business venture!
Barry!!! Always amazing to hear from you! Thank you.
Glad to see you all again and looking forward to your van life videos.
Happy to be back and craving more than just van life. All in due time! Thank you so much!
Welcome back!
Thank you Cheryl! It's good to be back!
Semi suspension is far too stiff (stock) for that RV. I can't imaging the amount of shock thats being transferred to the RV going down the road, especially from a tandem rear semi. They make an adapter that goes between the 5th wheel on the semi and the RV kingpin that is suppose to absorb much of that.
Valid point. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Wishing you well!
Needed to rotate the tyres while you had them off also I would’ve replaced the springs if the bushings in the shackles look like that And then would’ve checked the alignment from the front tow ball Shocks?
We rotated the tires regularly. The springs were next on the list, but we ended up selling the trailer. We learned many lessons from that situation. Now that we travel in a campervan, we really miss the ORV. Appreciate you commenting and following along. Wishing you well.
Whenever you hear that sound from a hub, that's a BIG warning signal worth paying attention to. You may have had a brake pad separate from the shoe and could be riding inside the hub, which renders the brakes on this wheel useless.
Since that day of shooting this video, we have learned so much, including how to repack by hand. We also replaced the brakes shortly afterwards because you were right about the brake pad separation. Appreciate you taking the time to comment and following along. Wishing you well!
Another safety tip for you. when you take the wheels and tires off, stack them under the back of the trailer under the frame or rear hitch (if equipped). If the trailer falls while you're under it, it could save your life.
That's a great tip and one that won't be forgotten. Appreciate your input and you taking the time to comment. Wishing you well.
@@ResetYourJourney You're very welcome. Happy trails to you.
1:44 does that really keep the dogs in? It seems like if they want they can just scoot under the vehicle.
Valid question, but unfortunately, we don't have the answer. Thanks for commenting! Wish you well!
I’m thinking of doing this as well but my bearded dragon is holding me back and I’m definitely not selling her, was great advice thanks and shows it definitely possible, thankyou!
It's totally possible! We're so glad Max was able to join us! Thanks for watching and commenting! We wish you well!
4 times per week on the steps and we all good
So true! We wish we had access to those steps daily! Thank you for commenting and following along!
Our axle spindles are both bent out of alignment relative to the axle body - by different amounts. So a new axle is in order. The culprit is probably some really hard potholes and similar dips, including one poorly maintained cattle crossing.
No doubt that's a common issue in all travel trailers. Hopefully your axles were/are under warranty. Even if not, it's still cheaper than constantly replacing tires in the long run. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well!
Would love to know more about how much electricity is used for the lights and what power system you guys have to run everything. It is so awesome that you guys travel with your little buddy ❤
We ran generators twice abday for 1 hour and then used a portable Bluetti lithium batter for overnight to heat his cage. The rest of the time he spent outside the cage playing, lounging and basking in the sun. He was a great travel campaign. Yes, he passed away, but as far as we're concerned lived a "rock star" life on the road and was always happy. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well!
Already had a wet kit. If it had been properly maintained they would still be tight. Now you know and you can keep them lubed.
One must fail before mastering a skill set. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well!
Did they charge you extra for all the hook ups or was everything completely free?
There was an additional charge for laundry and I believe it was $5-10/night. I'm not sure if they're still operational. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well!
THANK YOU so much! Just got our first fifth wheel and I couldn’t stand the thought of boarding my little dude. This is everything I needed to know!
Fantastic! So glad we could help! Definitely no need to board your beardie! Enjoy!
I really hope you dont give up on youtube, and sharing your journey what ever it is. If you keep posting, sharing the audience will come. We are looking for a home base next year after 5 years full time. It will be really hard to choose a home base, but florida will be most likely because our grown kids are there. Our channel is downsizing makes cents, downsizing stress is our biggest message, less stuff, lesss stress. The money runs out fast, we lived off savings for the first few years but now have to find a sustainable income to continue our travels. RUclips, is part of the solution but its a lot of work. Finding something fullfuling that also pays the bills is the unicorn. Larry
Ah yes, finding the unicorn! I (Glynn) agree that making a decision about a home base after visiting so many amazing places is challenging. We will continue to produce with more focus on our blog, which is growing faster than RUclips. More people should follow your guidance about minimizing stress with less stuff. Many years ago a good friend told me a story about when when his home burned down. Rather than being upset, he described the most liberated feeling. In fact he said he felt free. We now understand where he was coming from and continue to be inspired by his outlook. No doubt, so do you two. We're part time now based on a growing business opportunity in DE. We're doing our best to build our unicorn from every angle. Wishing you continued success!
It’s funny we were at many of the same places last summer, lees ferry was amazing, i did the kyack ride from horseshoe bend to the campground. Great music choice at the beginning. Larry
Thanks Larry! We really liked Marble Canyon and everything Lee's Ferry had to offer. It was a great homeschooling opportunity for the kids. We'll make it back there eventually.
We are working on our exit strategy after 4 years as actual full time rv travelers. A home base would be nice but the stress of owning a home while traveling is a big change. We have moved over 160 times in 4 years, with a big fifth wheel. We are working on making our youtube channel a real job, it started as a hobby but now is realistic a real alternative to having real jobs. First time on your channel, hope to see you on the road someday. I found your channel by looking for a bike rack, im getting ready to do a 1UP vs Kuat bike rack video, and doing some research. Your video was awesome because it was very authentic. Keep making those videos, youtube hates big pauses on a channel, hard to come back. Larry
That's outstanding Larry that you're able to pull enough from RUclips. I'm familiar with your great RUclips channel. We went full force into our website/blog with occasional videos, but we're heading back out on the road in a few weeks, so will have more content. Good call on the comparison video. After corresponding, I sincerely hope our paths cross on the road. Stay well!
Should have done, click, click Click, Done in your video hook. Loved the video. Thanks from a another full timer, 4 years. Larry
Good call Larry! Appreciate you following along and hope your journey has and will continue to be amazing! Wishing you well!
New to the channel. I peeped the 75th RGR Regiment DUI on that camper 🧐RLTW
Agreed, but I sadly cannot take credit. I left that on in honor of the previous owner who was an outstanding individual and was instrumental in teaching me about the systems in the ORV. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well!
really practical advice!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Appreciate you following along and commenting! We wish you well and great boondocking!
Really good video on this process and explaining the steps was great!
Thank you Samuel! We learned so much from Steve and are glad we can pass on the importance of the work done. We appreciate you commenting and following along. Wishing you well!
Could you at least learn how to prounce Nevada! Please?? I'm begging you!
Kindness goes a long way. Just putting that out there. We all mispronounce something.
Is that a lizzard of some kind?
Bearded Dragon.
I have two Yamaha generators just like you have 👍🇺🇲
Love our Yamaha generators! Wishing you well!
I wear flip-flops a lot when I'm camping also. And my feet get black from the dirt. So I will be using that tip you suggested about the wipes👍🇺🇲
Wipes have become an essential staple. There's nothing like living the flip flop life! Appreciate you following along!
👍🇺🇲
Thank you!
You're welcome!
