If you haven't already, check out Felicity, CA, it's about 5 miles west of Yuma along I-8. It has a pyramid dubbed the center of Earth, a staircase to nowhere, the history of Earth etched into hundreds of marble slabs, a chapel, and a gift shop. Directly across the Interstate from Felicity is one of the BLM LTVAs
Hey Steve! We drove by that several times and wondered if it was worth going. You answered our question. We leave this spot real soon, but want to catch a sunset at buttercup sand dunes this week before rolling out. Perhaps we'll squeeze in a visit. Thanks for the tip!
@@ResetYourJourney Buttercup is cool. But it's a madhouse on the weekend with OHV riders. Buttercup has a piece of the original wood plank road. You can also walk right up to the border wall with Mexico. California actually had a wall across it's entire border with Mexico long before Trump even talked about building a wall, which is kinda ironic because California has been so vocal against border walls . But that's a whole other story .
Good info and yes, the irony of the previous comment. Gotta love the dynamic! We'll probably hit buttercup tomorrow evening. We avoid just about everything on the weekends. We'll likely head back towards Phoenix to check a few things off the bucket list before heading too far north. But good tip about CA.
Nice video of the Yuma area. I lived there for a number of years and loved it. Whenever I had to go to Phoenix for work, it was always nice to cross over Telegraph Pass and see Yuma on the way home. When I lived in the foothills of Yuma, we often went hiking up there also. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Hopefully, you were able to check out some of the local Mexican restaurants, awesome food!! Looking forward to seeing where your journey takes you next.
Thank you so much for the kind words Shelly! We really enjoyed our time in Yuma and will very likely be back. Do you have any Mexican restaurant suggestions for when we return? Again, thank you and we wish you well!
Thank you for bringing us along for your adventures through Yuma! Looks like there are lots of fun places to explore, see, and experience. We didn't visit Yuma this past winter on our journey through Arizona, though we look forward to visiting Yuma on our next trip through Arizona. Cheers to appreciating the wonders of all these special places!
Thank you so much for the kind words! You'll find plenty of places to park your amazing rig when you finally make it through Yuma. Thank you for commenting and we wish you well!
@@ResetYourJourney Doing ok here. Older boy is taking the test for his full drivers license this week, younger boy is being a moody teen. So all in all pretty good.

Oh, and if you're headed into California, camp at Hot Springs LTVA, it has a working hot spring pool for free.

Oh my, that has to be nerve racking! Good luck to both of you. Ahhh... what we have to look forward to!
