  • Yuma sits in the extreme southwestern corner of Arizona, bordering both California and Mexico, at an important historical crossing of the Colorado River. In this week's Grand Adventure we'll explore the area's history, including a visit to the Colorado River State Historic Park, as well as its present-day agricultural and snowbird RV'er importance, and attend the Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival. In between, though, we'll jet off to somewhere entirely unexpected. Come along!

    ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a RUclips channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah during the winter months, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and dog Zoe are avid boondockers, so while you'll occasionally find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. We've now transitioned from "long-timing" for six months a year, to living and traveling in our RV full-time.
We'll provide beautiful travel videos, as well as some tips and insight on trip planning, and equipping and maintaining your RV to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

    Nice clean campground in Yuma.
    Date Shake!! 😋
New Orleans….I use to work for a company out of Gretna.
My late wife’s son lived in the French Quarter on Ann and Royal Street. It was like a little town in the midst of the city. One little grocery store and hardware store. Everyone knew everyone. Locals wouldn’t be caught dead on Bourbon Street.
Ahhh Cafe Du Monde! Don’t inhale when eating a Beignet!
Fins!!! Best seafood in the area!
Food is great in New Orleans.
Have you ever been to Albuquerque balloon festival? So many balloons, but so crowded.
I’m a little behind in the videos.
Next to last day at work was last Friday. Currently camping. Last day at work on 29th of February!
    Thanks Marc!!

Congrats in advance on your pending retirement, Ram! Wow, what a setup -- a few weeks off followed by one last day.
Gretna was way cooler than I had anticipated. I really enjoyed my walk around the old center of town that morning. So quaint, and so unlike everything surrounding it.
      G. Fins was exceptional, and I can't go Louisiana without beignets. And hey, I had to walk Bourbon Street at least once while I was there, although it was far filthier than I had remembered from my only other visit ~30 years earlier. It also reminded me that I'm also a heluva lot older than I was 30 years ago. 😁
We've never been in the right place at the right time to take in the ABQ balloon fiesta. I'd like to see it, but I also know that I'm not to keen on the crowds.

Wish we could be at the get together. That there is on of them RV RESORTS. I didn’t see that coming , NO in a Yuma video, that harbor looks like a scene from forest gump. @@GrandAdventure I have one question great episode thank you for putting all your hard work into it.. but why did you stick the New Orleans part into this episode? It was great and things but that seem kind of lost on me. Did you know USS Lexington a WW2 aircraft carrier, went up the Mississippi to go to Mardi Gras in 1989 just a bit of trivia

    • @GrandAdventure
      @GrandAdventure  7 месяцев назад

@@leeproffitt69 I did not know that Lee, thank you! As for including New Orleans in this episode, it was kind of an off-the-cuff decision. With the business trip that was supposed to last all week (but in reality only lasted one day), I didn't know if I was going to get enough footage from the Yuma area when I got on the plane bound for NOLA. So I also filmed what I could in New Orleans. Then, even though I had enough footage to do justice for Yuma and not enough for a separate New Orleans episode, I decided, what the heck? Why not? It provides a little glimpse into some of the issues we face while traveling with a career, and it gives us a chance to showcase a different part of the country.
