Good video, wet bolts are great and if you add grease on every trip or every 500-1000 miles they will last a lot longer. The bolt is such a small diameter and has so much load on it that they need to be greased often. I just replaced the leaf springs on my 15k fifth wheel and the springs and heavy duty wet bolt kit were about 5 years old and all of the bushings were in good condition with just a little wear. When I insert new bushings I have a tool I machined so I can drive in the bushings with a hammer and not deform the bushings. Sometimes the spring eye is tight like you found and I take a 9/16 drill bit and ream the bushing to keep it round.

Little advice weld a metal back plate to your anxle hanger shackles. For stronger hangers, specially those really off road trails. Those hangers has a history of coming off or spreading out.
I've heard of other ORV owners doing this or installing a cross bar between the hangers from CRE. Learning to weld has always been on my bucket list. Perhaps it's due time.
How often were you greasing the wet bolts? How often will you be lubing them in the future? What would you think of clocking the wet bolt so the grease hole is pointed down on the leaf spring bushing so grease is squirted right where all the wear is taking place. Might have to jack the trailer up to relieve the pressure to squirt the grease in. I would think a grease with some moly in it would be the way to go.
Appreciate the comment! I believe you are absolutely right about jacking the trailer to relieve pressure. And doing so always allowed for easier flow. I made it a habit to grease quarterly. Our axle spindles are both bent out of alignment relative to the axle body - by different amounts. So a new axle is in order. The culprit is probably some really hard potholes and similar dips, including one poorly maintained cattle crossing.
No doubt that's a common issue in all travel trailers. Hopefully your axles were/are under warranty. Even if not, it's still cheaper than constantly replacing tires in the long run. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well!

Another safety tip for you. when you take the wheels and tires off, stack them under the back of the trailer under the frame or rear hitch (if equipped). If the trailer falls while you're under it, it could save your life.
Hey guys, great video and thanks for posting. We have a fairly new travel trailer with a tandem axle. I noticed one tire had excessive wear on the inside. I thought..."This ain't good". Anyway, I jacked up the trailer and grabbed the tire and tried to shake it. Sure enough, there was a little bit of play. The other tires did not have any play. I took off the tire and checked the bearings in the wheel that was wearing uneven. It was definitely loose. I could tighten the nut almost a turn by hand. Put it all back together and no play in the wheel. Only time will tell if this was the problem, but I think it was. Again, thanks for posting an awesome video!!

I recommend cutting the time/mileage between greasing all the lube points. If you don’t want to get dirty, get some coveralls or a Tyvek suit. Grease is cheap at twice the price. Take care.

Great video! A couple of great guys! How often do you grease your fittings? I’m trying to do it three times a year (full timer). We installed the morryde 4000 at their factory in April of 2021 since then we have put 6000 miles on the RV. I’ve greased the fitting twice since then, you think that’s often enough? Needed to rotate the tyres while you had them off also I would’ve replaced the springs if the bushings in the shackles look like that And then would’ve checked the alignment from the front tow ball Shocks?
We rotated the tires regularly. The springs were next on the list, but we ended up selling the trailer. We learned many lessons from that situation. Now that we travel in a campervan, we really miss the ORV. Appreciate you commenting and following along. Wishing you well.
If i can make one suggestion i like to test each grease zerk before installing, i had a few that were plugged right out of the box. So pre fill the wet bolt
We replaced the whole equalizer system, which included pre-installed bushings. So overall, all bushings were replaced. And it solved our tire wear problems. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well.
I would suspect that would be the case. Although, we've heard from several owners who still had worn bushings despite greasing. Since the rubber around the central unit wears out eventually, with regular greasing to the bushings, it would be a good gauge as to replacement time. But you bring up a valid point. It's worth the effort and it performs so well. For as little as it costs, the return on investment is massive. I hope you're able to make it happen before heading back out.
There's almost always an aftermarket upgrade for whatever stock suspension you have on your travel trailer. ORV just happens to come standard with the CRE3000. We probably could have stepped up the replacement, but that would have been overkill. I hope you're able to find something that will maintain the integrity of your suspension and tires. We've heard others make the same statement after replacing portions of the suspension. We're showing the tiniest amount of uneven wear after 10k miles, but nothing like the past. More what I consider normal wear. Regardless, I question the quality control on axle alignment for most rigs. I suppose tire rotation could slow essential replacement. @@ResetYourJourney I did do it, we are are going out for 4th of July we'll see how I did, I to have a spread axle (trucker term sorry) they are hard on tires edges, so could be having normal wear, mine was way out, so way your friend did that with the straight edge gave me relief. Were the original bushings that wore out brass or nylon?

Why did you not change the CRE-3000 equilizer Bushing (2x3x) and reuse them rather than replace?
We replaced the whole equalizer system, which included pre-installed bushings. So overall, all bushings were replaced. And it solved our tire wear problems. Appreciate you following along and commenting. Wishing you well.

The trailer has been poorly maintained. What else is an accident going somewhere to happen.
It was a used trailer to us (not new), and no one is born with the knowledge. Hopefully, our lessons help others properly maintain their trailers.

Already had a wet kit. If it had been properly maintained they would still be tight. Now you know and you can keep them lubed.
