Spirostomum and Large Paramecium: Found in Beaver Lake in Asheville, NC 01-24-2024: Vol 4
I collected this water specimen at Beaver Lake, located in Asheville, North Carolina. I let the water sit in a sunny window for a few days and found this abundance of life. The large long yellow microbes are called Spirostomum. They are a unicellular microbe. There is a large paramecium as well. I used the Swift 380T Trinocular microscope, and an attached Sony a7rIII camera for the filming. This is videoed using the Dark Field technique which uses reflected light to illuminate the subject and give a dark background.

Miscroorganisms are very cool and all and you should continue to capture them on camera, but you could try to not seem as a straight rip off of Journey to the Microcosmos, maybe change the name of the channel, it's odd.

Thanks for your comment. I am new to RUclips and don't watch many videos myself. I checked out the channel Journey to the Microcosms. It looks like a good channel. I watched their latest video and it was a man named Hank who was talking about them closing out the channel because it was so expensive to produce. Believe me my channel is a one person operation an I don't expect to make a living at it. I just put these on at the suggestion of my grand-daughter. I got the title to the channel from a book I read as a youngster by the same name. Thank you for watching the video.
