This is your videos you should be able to do the mechanics you seems better doing videos then not doing the mechanics
I owned the only TR8 experimental convertable built by British Leyland.. 21,000 mls 5 speed manual factory black absolutely mint..they were no big deal..I owned also a red fixed head Tr8..that was in 1995
I owned two Citroen bx and you can only use Michelin tyres if you want the hydronumatic suspension to work properly
Sounds lovely 😁
The weights on the plate are not the vehicles weight they are max weights for each axle, total max for vehicle and train weight, if you want to know what it weighs go to a weigh bridge then work out bhp per ton
Triton green is the SD1 colour to the same as my 1980 V8S with gold wheels and black trim
I had the standard TR7 convertible, not even the Sprint engine and it felt a bit heavy and very sluggish, This is exactly what it needed. Great car and video.....thanks
Why the illegal number plate?
These Alfas yes they are cool 🥰🥰 is always an adventure to rescue a car is like going back in the past 😁
I love it but the big brake thing is more bragging rites, if the brakes can lock up the tyres you don't need anymore caliper force, so 8 piston is probably pointless, big discs are good for faid though. The master cylinder area Vs brake piston area have to have a certain ratio or the brakes are too sensitive I wonder what the thinking is?
I was expecting a turbo 3.5. The LS may well make a 1000hp with the boost up.
That's a Beast... would love to see a video of it going for a spin 👍
are you Alan Partridge?
My Post is missing: I rode in this red 3500 from Dads office in Brisbane, CA to Brooks Hall in SF for the Imported Car Show, I think 1970. It was at Dad office, Rover Motor Co/Leyland Motor Sales; we put a company plate on the the back and hauled A**. There was two cars one was 3.5L if i remember right the other 4.4 which dad (Richard Green, was Product Development Engineer & Service Manager, this would later be built DownUnder I wasn't 500bhp either! Lots of hype here, Awesome car. I have pics on my site of this car. I( nearly bought the red one on 2006-ish Divorce buggered that! West Coast British.
I apologize if I'm biased, the ones I LOVE are the two ALFA ROMEOs, I add LONG LIVE ITALY. Alessandro from Rome
We had 5 of us sleeping in one of these on holiday when our tent leaked. Looking at this car now - it looks very flimsy - A and B pillars look like they would snap off if the car rolled.. hence why there's so much room in it - no structural safety at all! Hope you passed your test and able to drive it around.
Number plates should fail the MOT for being non-compliant colour for this year
1000 HP my arse.
Wonderful video. Full of all the things I love. A TR7, a V8, top down driving, beautiful English country lanes and an owner who loves to drive their car. Bravo.
Gordon Bennett 😂
I used to have have a Rover SD1, one of my favourite cars, even with its faults.
Top video,enjoyed that❤
In my humble opinion the rover sd1 3500 was one of the most beautiful shapes ever. Always one of my favourite cars. Growing up in the 80’s and seeing them as police cars and the v8 in everything from ambulances to landrovers
Graham Hill raced it at an endurance race, lead many many hours till prop-shaft vibration, so they withdrew car (No spares). it was that fast!
Weigh the car it's easy.
This bloke sounds he’s near to me as he mentions Radtech who are about 10 minutes away from me , I’d love to see this car out and about 😎
I had four of these back in the 90s, most lads my age had Nova's, not me, first car was a 2600s! followed by three V8 VDP's. Always dreamed of doing a Chevy V8 conversion but life, wife and mortgage killed it. This is definitely my lottery win car!
A very modest man😊😊😊❤❤😂😂 what a guy😊😊😊❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤beautiful 😍 ❤ 😊😊
Had a few sd1s myself 3 vittesses superb cars loved them
very very good builder ,hes switched on and my god those alloys are just perfect ,massive respect to the owner /builder ,that roll bar and rear end is tip top
sorry for your loss of your besty my friend 🙏
Scimitar-esque.
Brakedown? Sheesh...
Was expecting to see a twin turbo Rover V8 before you pulled the bonnet up. But a twin turbo 6.2 litre Chev will do haha! Absolute beast. Can't wait to see some drive footage.
Sounds like Jayemm..
Wrong picture at 1.51 - that's a Mini Marcos
That's the only photo I could find of that driver in a car
Boring.
Brilliant build ! Wow sounds like thunder when throttle blipped , and it looks so standard , amity British Leyland built them , and not Ford ? Hahaha .
a british WORK OF ART fella, what a beast!! absolutely love the sleeper style, u should showcase more, ps great coverage 👍
Glad you liked it I am planning to make more videos like this!
Tony Pond + Rover SD1 = Something I will never forget.
Tr6 would have been better, the tr7 is one of the ugliest cars ever made from every angle
Now that is what I call a properly modified car, done in the correct way with no corners cut. Absolutely amazing bit of engineering
A Stag, it has to be a series 2 Stag 🔥
Now we're talking ....what a beast
Amazing that is love the sd1
when i was young , i always fantasized about putting a rover v8 into a datsun ... didnt happen , i was a lazy pothead 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I wanted the same in a mini, never got round to it either 😂
That's just fucking awesome, on of my favourite cars of all time!
That's fantastic! I just hope he manages to keep the engine cool on this one. If you know you know 😉
😂😁
@@leeusher2965 You again 😂
No they weren't badly made
I have friends who worked at BL in the 1970s they leaked live civs and the 6 cylinder ones were hugley unreliable!
@@classic_britain So did every other car made in the 1970's 🤣
@@korma9732 Exactly!
