I always longed for an alternative rear suspension system on my Vitesse, that rear axle and the inside wheel spin was a let down. I love this build and wish I had the spare cash do do similar.
very very good builder ,hes switched on and my god those alloys are just perfect ,massive respect to the owner /builder ,that roll bar and rear end is tip top
Was expecting to see a twin turbo Rover V8 before you pulled the bonnet up. But a twin turbo 6.2 litre Chev will do haha! Absolute beast. Can't wait to see some drive footage.
I had a SD1 back in the early nintys ,,,loved it ,,also had a classic 2 door range rover,,,and put a 3500SD1 in a Ford capri....but this is on another level,,brilliant..
I fell in love with the SD1 V8 as soon as they came out! I had a total of SEVEN during my lifetime the last one a Vitesse! I wish I could have put a big lump in it! OUTSTANDING BUILD SIR!

I always liked the SD1 - Ever since I saw Tony Pond slinging the Computervision rally car around the country lanes here in Ireland- He even boiled the power steering fluid That car is just class - so well built and executed ! Labour of love

You can’t exactly call this a sleeper with that sound coming out of side pipes. And those wide tires sticking out of the rear fenders with the risk of rubbing against them is something I never like. But I understand the need of the width obviously. The rest of the car is absolutely fantastic! My father bought one new in the early eighties and literally had his first technical problems already when he came home after picking it up from the dealer. Me and my brother were playing with the electric windows and then they refused to close. Unbelievable. During his business trips from the Netherlands to Germany the car broke down several times after which it had to be towed away and his business made fun of him for buying such a car. 😂 Keep up the good work guys 👍🏼
70 in the left lane, 70 in the right lane = 170 down the middle, thank you officer. A vehicle not be wrapped around a lamp post. I guess a labour of love over a long time so no box section. A couple of folk in the big houses had them, I didn't get close. Red, what a colour. Thanks for that, thanks owner and dad.
Super cool wasn't surprised to see an LS as ain't no rover doin 1000hp, looks like a really good build with a lot of attention on detail, had a sd1 stock car so no opening doors looked bit like Audi sport coupe rally car from early 80s have a few photos if the fella is interested
In my humble opinion the rover sd1 3500 was one of the most beautiful shapes ever. Always one of my favourite cars. Growing up in the 80’s and seeing them as police cars and the v8 in everything from ambulances to landrovers
@@classic_britain the level of knowledge and to retro fit that engine and Toyota rear end.. Takes serious skill set to fab in correctly. So ex Audi VW 15 years know the Score r Turning wrenches. Hats off guys
Nice build, credit to the owner. The manual is a bit of a backward step, very hard to get the power down with a V8 turbo. Though he could have gone with one of our Aussie sequentials. Autos are a better deal with this engine. Yes there are 100s of 1000s of street cars that sound like this, and make Much More horsepower, down here...but Im sure you all know this. You can only dream of what it was like to buy a factory V8 straight off the showroom floor. If you want to see the tough car scene down here, watch Fullboost. Your minds will be blown. Is there room for a strut brace, or is it unwanted? Could an undertray pay-off on track, or is road use and the convenience of maintenance preferred?
It's not a full track car but there is not really room for a brace but it's all toyota chassis rails at the front so it's really strong!
