Before you guys say anything I am in touch with Reg and he is helping us with the wiring situation on the car but we are going to get all this re done at some stage in the not to distant future but right now we just want to get the car running so I can do all the other things to get her on the road.
Sheldon get David to run a live wire to the POS+ on the coil, That will back feed and give you ignition on the car, It will stay running until you remove the +POS feed. All the Best.
When I saw the comments on your last video I was shocked at the number of people willing to condemn this car just because of wiring problems. The wiring on old cars is basically pretty simple as it's all individual circuits, unlike modern cars with CANBUS and loads of control modules that require expensive diagnostic tools..
Forget the negative vibes, the car is more than worthy of completing and the wiring isn't the headache people are making it out to be, get the p6 wiring back to something that it should be, the engine harness the same then marry them, the car loom like all old car looms will have been gotten at over the years, its taking it back to standard then looking at the engine harness as a separate entity, the reality is that the p6 wiring, at the front ( lights aside) will be very simple, alternator 3 wires, oil pressure and temperature 2 wires, starter exciter wire x1, live for coil x1(which you will use as ignition feed for ecu) and thats it, all that would run the carb fed v8. Just needs simplifying and then will start making sense. Best of luck a fantastic car worth the effort 👍👍
I have convinced my car to efi from a SD1 Vitesse and it was simple only three wires and the ecu uses the plug in loom for the efi and it’s completely separate from the car wiring.
Don't know why so many commentators are saying this should be scrapped....it's too good for that. I've never heard of these Nagas before, i'm finding it quite interesting. Don't envy you on sorting out the spaghetti wiring woes though! I loathe car electrics!! Good luck with it Sheldon. 👍
Bloody hell, I like wiring and wiring diagrams, but this would test me. David has the right approach, I would have done similar with pen and paper . Them meters are real old school....was Dave not a bit warm with that hat on 🎉 🤕?
Those 2 relays are similar to the SD1 early efi. Ignition starts petrol pump Oil pressure signal (white/green?) works missing relay that keeps pump going? ? allegedly
I rather wonder if Moss Motors in North America might have an equivalent nada ignition switch used in a Triumph Jaguar MG of the era from Lucas classsic parts? It could then be used in this Rover.

Buy that David some tissues ffs sake and find someone who has a clue thank me later
The classic tinkering and rapport between you guys is channel gold! Maybe a sneek peek of the pub n pint would finish it off!
Unique Rover. Well done Sheldon for your commitment to this historical vehicle.
great to see a young lad into classics, love your enthusiasm keep it up well done.
Glad you liked it don't forget to subscribe
I think we should all take a few minutes just to realise how clever David is.
Yes David really is a smart man
Yeah, just watching him with that wiring diagram and a pen and paper, massive respect.

Lovely car and lovely on efi
Hi Sheldon hope your man can make some sense of the wiring and get things moving, very interesting project cheers 🥂

Seldon when you gonna have it on the road .How you getting on with trying to pass your driving test 🙄
Can't park let alone drive
A tangled web indeed. At least David has the intellectual calibre of being left handed

When my brother in laws one hit 90 the fuel gauge moved down in relation to the speedo...good luck....

Have you passed your driving test yet?

When it starts will you park it a bit straighter please, its doing my crust in. Edit; unless it's to stop it rolling down the hill
hahaha I did not park it there was a car in front of it when the recovery man dropped it of hence the funny angel
Fair enough
@@classic_britainhaven't you got a trolley jack to straighten it up lad
@@johngibson3837 I did not think of that!
You said you need a 7 wire ignition switch, i have one i bought from wadhams, its the wrong one for my car.
Oh great can you pm me on Facebook? It's Sheldon Talago
Oh also you will have to friend me on Facebook then you can message me.
Ok will do
@@ianpowley7417 Thanks so much!
