Ficus Bonsai Starter, Bonsai From Cutting, Jan2024
Ficus bonsai starters from cuttings were taken one year ago from my larger trees. They root easily and grow well. I keep them in nursery seedling starter pots, which means a bit of maintenance that I will be doing today. Doing some trimming, repotting, and a bit of soil adjustment. Today, I’m going to repot it into a slight larger container.

Propagating Thick Ming Aralia Cutting, Polyscias Fruticosa, Jan2024
Просмотров 2586 месяцев назад
Ming Aralia grow very well indoors. They like to be moist at all times. One month ago, I trimmed back this Polyscias Fruticosa nursery stock. This Ming Aralia cutting grew really well, but I noticed it started slowing down. Today, I decided to check the roots. The lower part of the cutting has rotted, but there are still some good roots available, and I decided to repot the cutting into a large...

Ming Aralia grow very well indoors. They like to be moist at all times. One month ago, I trimmed back this Polyscias Fruticosa nursery stock. Setting A Portulacaria Afra Apex with Bonsai Wire, Dec2023
Просмотров 5746 месяцев назад
Portulacaria Afra are fast growers, and excellent for a Bonsai. It’s important to create a proper Apex. This is the top of the tree, and it looks past one the tree top is coming towards the viewer. Today I will wire the Apex give it a little bit more movement, and bend the top towards the viewer. ........ Find me elsewhere, Website: www.bonsaimethod.com Instagram: bonsaimethod Tik...

Pruning with a purpose. I try to always ask myself where my trees are on the development scale. I have the best success when I focus on one goal. That goal should be what the tree needs most. In this case I would say getting the trunk to grow is the most important. Consider letting the tree just grow for 2-3 years. Let it leg long and bushy. Then you’ll have lots of branches to remove. I’m guessing you are trying to style the tree now or maybe you want more ramification? You can do that(you just did) but by removing foliage you are slowing down the growth. That is fine if you are ok with a slim trunk. On small trees my teachers usually have me only focus on two things. The first is growing it out. The second is adding movement if desired while the trunk is still flexible. Once the trunk is grown we focus on primary branches. Then secondary branches and so on. I love these pepper trees. I just bought three little ones. I’m hoping they will grow well in my area (I’m in a 10b area with cool summers) Keep us updated. Love these trees
This was about the storm and not the plant.
❤good From india
Hi. I like your videos. 1.What are the white things on leaves? 2. Do you add something to the soil?
How is it not an ivy?? O got mine and it looks a lot like an ivy
Can they be rooted in water?
If I prune or chop a light brown stump down, will it regrow a stump later, or just new branches? Do the branches become stumps after time?
Nice🎉
por qué la destrenzó? se veía linda
what's the song? also very pretty plant, I want a swedish ivy myself some day
Cantiknya ,greetings from indonesia🇮🇩
good choice
How old is it
What species of ficus is the grafted portion?
Ficus microcarpa or known has ficus ret7sa and chinese fig😊
What is the stuff you put in the truck where you made the cut?
Hey can you tell me if i cn remove the grafted variety and root it? The lower part on my ficus grew some thick branches which i used for new plants. But now its ugly and i only wa t the upper part
Which part of the stem do you recommend for best success? The older woody stem, the in between, or green fresh stem on the top? I have an older plant and trying to make the best use of all stems for outdoor planting.
Всё равно большая 😏 Возможно ли каждые полгода укорачивать верхушку на одно соцветие с целью пробуждения нижних почек для роста и есть ли способ уменьшить размер листьев?
😅
I inherited a Norfolk and there were 2of the three stems/needles that were completely dried and broke, but the 3rd one is still going strong, just a few brown needles, I could not get them apart so should I just keep them all together and repot? It sounds like it’s storming on your video, and I am on my patio planting seedlings and such and it’s storming lol. Great video!!! Ps. You look just like Luke from the Handmaids tale!!!!!
Nice video so after the pruning you just leave them in water until the cuttings root?
❤ the sound of the thunder rain and birds
Glad to see Japanese maples in your collection! I love momiji! 👏🏽 🪴 🍁

Tienes mas videos de esta planta?
there are full videos (non shorts) on the channel!
O que é isso que ele está usando pra colar onde fez o corte na Ficus ?
Its a beeswax salve. I dont recommend it on ficus. latex based sealers are more accepted by ficus.
? 😮😊
? 😊
Queue de burito!? Que es? 😊de francia🇫🇷 👋 Buenos dias
My ports are yet to wake up.
What time of year do they start up for you? This one is growing at the moment. new leaves emerging after the last pruning. ☀️🤩☀️
I think you have a benjamin there, not a tigerbark (as stated in the thumbnail). Nice work there!
thats definitely possible. it was mixed in with a half dozen cuttings. we shall see. cheers!
Bonsai?
🌳
What did you put on the wound?
its no secret. beeswax salve. i would not recommend on ficus tho bec rubber latex is far superior.
Apart from cutting the leaves off how do can you get rid of scale pests
Generally, there are three ways in mechanical, biological, and chemical. Mechanical is physically rubbing or scrapping them off. Biological is using predator insects that eat scale..ie lacewings. Chemical is commonly used insecticidal soap and/or homemade sprays (google for a recipe..i use neem, dish liquid and alcohol + water). Let me know if this is helpful. I use a combo mechanical and chemical. Thanks for watching.
@@BonsaiMethod thanks for replying and yes, it’s very helpful.
Thank you for sharing ficus bonsai❤
Thank you for watching. I appreciate it!☀️🤩☀️
Non ho capito perche ha tagliato ?
I removed the grafted portion for a more natural looking tree. Thank you for watching.
Nice..👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you for watching! Cheers☀️🤩☀️

Lookin’ good! 😎
Nice to get them underway!!
Yes I think so. Tho Im not sure what they’ll become.☀️🤩☀️Thank you for watching
Hi, any update? 🙏
Updated: Still growing strong. I think last year I stopped watching in the Winter.. I cannnot remember.. so currently ive reduced the watering. 🤞🏾☀️🤩☀️
I've never seen one of these plants in the UK?
Theyre gems. If you find one its worth it.
I've gone through at least 10 plants and I end up killing them. I gave my friend one and hers has been growing beautifully in her kitchen. Overwatering and cold temperatures are how you lose them.
is it better to not have them braided tgt?
Thats a good question; for me, Its neither. It is a personal preference. I like them better this way, because I plan to hard prune them short in the future. Thank you for watching.
nice forest, 🌳 bruh 😎
whoa 😳 big tree
thanks for watching
I did the same thing it looks much better. Great job
i agree. thank you!
Beautiful to watch with birds and water in background. Did a great job
I was starting to think Im the only one enjoying the audio. Thank you for watching☀️🤩☀️
Beautiful
Thank you. This one had been a challenge. Hope it continues but a little easier. Thank you for watching!
Well done bud. That needed some serious thought.
We do it because it’s interesting, not because it’s easy. Definitely some thought and study. Thank you for watching☀️
I'd like to have one like that.
Me too! Its been a journey/process. I look forward to seeing this fill out with leaves in Spring time!☀️🤩☀️
