Mr. Hays was quite a force to be reckoned with in The Bauer Family. He was instrumental in getting Mike to marry Julie Conrad who was more miss rebound than miss relationship, he was terrified over julie giving birth to hope, and Mr. Hays pretty much told Mike to get his stuff together. He even was a source of comfort to Bill Bauer who admitted he fell off the wagon.

Good theme song! Shame this show wasn't really brought up in conversations in terms of classic Aussie soaps. It didn't reach the same level of iconic status as Neighbours or Prisoner: Cell Block H, but it was truly a product of its time. I wish you had footage of Joan at 63 playing the role of her 20 something adopted daughter Christina ! Apparently all that footage was taped over and / or destroyed. Joan was drunk during the taping and it was embarrassing for everyone. It would be a critically important tape to see if anyone has it for so manny reasons: pure camp, Joan playing a 20 year old, Joan upstaging Christina, the whole catastrophe.
