I always loved this guiding light theme. The best and prettiest. When i hear this gl theme i can still see phillip, nola , kelly, all of them. Guiding light was the best soap opera.

I never cease to be amazed that for such a lovely opening them, the visuals are absolutely horrible!

The Adam/Dixie storyline was classic soap opera. Adam used his power & influence to make Dixie's life a living h3ll in order to gain custody of their little son until Tad finally came to Dixie's rescue & saved the day. Adam may be ruthless through & through, but at the end of the day, he had a heart of gold. Shout-out to the late, great David Canary (Adam) & Cady McClain (Dixie) for giving such powerhouse performances in this episode, and also to a very young Maurice Benard in his pre-GH Sonny days as Nico Kelly. Nico's chemistry with Cecily was undeniable & they deserved more love than they got. That's all I have to say. Thanks so much for taking another wild & nostalgic trip down Pine Valley memory lane! 👍🏻 I have a very special but interesting question for you. Agnes Nixon had already conceived the idea for All My Children but was a writer for AW at the time. She carried over the characterizations. A young wannabe socialite (Rachel/Erica) with a divorced working class mother (Ada/Mona) whose first rung on the latter was to marry a young doctor (Russ Matthews/Jeff Martin). Robin Strasser and Susan Lucci even resembled each other.

However, many people complained to P&G, that its tablets didn’t dissolve fully into the wash so they were discontinued shortly thereafter. It would take another 2 1/2 decades before dishwasher tabs and pods (like Tide Pods) would comeback and be a common use in laundry. Salvo was basically the precursor to today’s modern laundry pods.
