I.B.E.W. will teach you. I've done traffic signals to Industrial to commercial. Just got to want it please choose I.B.E.W.
🤔 I understand you can't please everyone, but this video was a waste of time and effort as it was just a quick view of this box, that box, oh and the box over here. It would have been better to view less, and to explain what each box did, or what era it was from, maybe next time.
Do you have more information on that solid state Mercury relay replacement?
I am the traffic signals crew leader in Syracuse NY where Crouse Hindes is located. We still have a couple PCE'S in operation
15 twists per meter where i live back to controller
MYRC ---> minimum yellow and red clearance
In Pittsburgh we have started to have lag left turns so the pedestrian can walk first
New boss comes in and orders it all in the trash.
2 minute video with 13 minutes of wasted time. I can't watch this.
You could always increase the video speed.
I just passed my test 4a Signal Maintainer. Now just waiting on emails
Can you show you how to control a traffic light in my garage? I want the light to turn on -green when the car is entering the garage, turn yellow when the car reaches a prescribed distance that is close to the end, and then turn red when it reaches the end where it needs to be parked.
6:33 Those D8 controllers weighed a ton! Did you ever use the Crouse-Hines SP40 pretimed controllers? We were phasing them out when I started in the mid 1980s in Phoenix. I'd like to get my hands on a Winko-matic TC75 time base coordination. It would make a good time based relay contrtoller for lights and other stuff.

Maybe you could answer why can’t lights resume automatic operation after a power failure rather than flash red for hours?
They can, but it could be that it wasn’t configured correctly.
This is a great video, and I am your fans. Just a minor oral typo: "MMU" = "Malfunction Monitoring Unit", not "Multifunction".
When looking at the MMU/CMU conflict card, those 1-5, 2-5 soldiered jumper lines are literally not for "phases", but for "channels". Channel 1 not necessarily driven by Phase 1.
Great work! Need more videos like this! Highly recommend creating more content like this go in great detail.
Is it possible if you can make a video explaining all the details and elavations with the traffic lights 🚦. I’ve all kind of inspection before but never that and I was asked in a interview to find this stuff and had no idea where it was 🤦🏾♂️
Been having problems with a 332 cabinet. I only get 18.74 volts to the DC isolators
Have you tried changing out the DC power supply? 206
How many turns out of approximately 30’
Dude you're awesome! You should make some more videos. I have electrical background and just from three of your videos I am able to grasp more of the ts 1 and twos thank you!
The info you gave could have been condensed into a green light short but noooo you had to be the red light
Very nice setup. I've got a bunch of Opticoms in my collection. The last one I'm looking for is the first generation oil filled, otherwise I've got them all.
Traffic signal Sequnces Different types of Overlaps Controller logic processors
I am about to start as a beginner and I just so happened to stumble upon a job opening as a traffic signal installer with a company and I am nervous, curious and excited.
That's exciting! It's tough when you are new but it'll come together
How many types of cabinets are there? 2 or more?
Let me Know if your selling another kit 🫡
I will say they made this set up a lot easier with newer TS2 and ATC signal controllers. In my case trying to make the logical "ped clearance" (in conjunction with an overlap) function to work in my older TS1 field terminations load panel has been a bear and one I have never solved (it's not even an option in my Econolite ASC 2100S controller). Not one video out there demonstrates how that is done. After all FYA is supposed to be backward compatible LOL. Hope all has been well for you!
Will a new cabinet go into flash without MMU and controller in place as long as it has power?
It's incapable of cycling it will only go into flash without an MMU or controller.
Is there a set of contacts in the TS2-1 that changes state when its in fault flash? I want to add it as an alarm input in my network switch. Please help
Thx so much for your information 😊
Very cool thanks for sharing 👍
Dude you are a huge help
Thank you 😊
I have a tech question... I have an old test board that runs on 120 volt S6 candelabra-base incandescent light bulbs. Those old light bulbs are getting harder to find especially here in California where they are phasing them out. When I tried to replace the incandescent bulbs with LED lamps, the LED's stay on constantly, in a dimly lit state.. They work just fine and go to full brightness when they receive an input from the controller, but instead of turning off, they go back to that dim, constant ON state. My understanding is that in a TRIAC, there is a slight voltage leak that incandescent bulbs don't care about, but LED's apparently do. I tried wiring in load resistors which didn't help. Would you happen to know a work-around for this?
Have you tried moving to a different field terminal? How did you wire in the load resistors? You should have taken one leg of the resistor to the output of the field terminal and the other leg to the AC-. Double check your AC- bars and make sure they're all connected. One last thing.. If you pull the load switch out, does it stay dim?
@@streetsmartstraffic I'll give it a try. Thank you!
You’re welcome
Sir i am a trafic signal techinician . working in pakistan trafic signal installation repair wiring dp installation allover working related trafic signal please guid me how i can get traffic signal complainer or techinician job any out of country ....
What is pay like? Is there alot of OT. I have an interview and really looking forward to it.
Depends alot on the amount of signals that the organization maintains. A small municipality may have only 10 signals they maintain vs. a larger city may have 1000. (More likelyhood that a signal may malfuction)
Why are the jumpers on the card so long? We just take a small piece of bare wire and use that as a jumper. I'd think this could end up causing an issue down the line with all of those wires crossing like that. Good luck though.
What a great video I haven’t worked on traffic signals in over 25 years great refresher
Love seeing a WA State project. I work for City of Federal Way Public Works-Traffic
your explanation makes it so easy to understand. many thanks!
great video thank you!
Police light tester
How do you become a member of the Association and what do you need?
Nice video. Where would I be able to get a back panel for the load switches? I’m currently trying to get my hands on one for a cabinet that I’m putting together for my collection. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
keep your eyes on govdeals. look for traffic cabinets
I used to not like TS-2 cabinets because I thought they were harder to diagnose at the time. ie, which BIU was malfunctioning. But the Colbalt controller solved that problem. What you refer to as the bus interface cable is what we call the SDLC cable. Syncronious Data Link Cable. We no longer have test call buttons in our cabinets because all that can be done from the front panel of the controller. Good job of explaining things.
Any way that you can share videos replicating errors that happen in the field and showing what you do to troubleshoot?
Love your videos man! Just found you today…I’ve done Telecom for 6 years and now 4 months into being a sig tech for DEN CO… I was wondering if you could do videos on different faults the MMU and controller throw out…Also congratulations on the new position…like you took a big jump and I’m loving it so far! Also if you could suggest any books that be awesome! 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I'd love to do MMU faults
Hey Mike. Been a while since we chatted. Congrats on the new job and hope it's been pretty smooth for ya. I still have not been able to get into the Signal Tech field due in large part the limitations with IMSA certification offerings. The other side is there's not been any career opportunities in TX for my location since moving here last October. I wanted to again thank you for your time you worked with me getting my personal traffic light gear operational. For the most part everything functions like it should (aside from NEMA and MMU flash) and it's helped me grow my knowledge further in the 24 years as a collector/hobbyist.
Awesome, I'm glad your stuff has been available. You should have some online classes available for IMSA level I and II
@@trafficsignalstraining7673 I had looked but there was nothing online at the time. The next available in person for me is not until November. I'll probably have to go look again.
My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. Congratulations for your new job and thanks for your all efforts.More information has been gained and we are waiting for more, thank you so much.
