Awesome tut thank u, will take this directly in my kh fan game
Wow a amazing tutorial
can you make it in godot 4?
thank you. this helped me fix a problem i had been working on for hours
Thanks bro, you're hero
Thank you for the video! Any reason why you are not multiplying delta to gravity and acceleration ? Example: "velocity.y += gravity * delta", and "velocity.x += acceleration * delta"
What a great, simple tip!
This tutorial really helped me out thx
Your video helped me figure out what I did wrong and how to fix it! Thank you so much!
He is Scamming He says How to make loading screen in 5 minutes in title But Video is 5:34 minutes He take 34 second extra 😅
Really help full video. helped me out alot when I was making shaders for my GameCube inspired game. Realy is simple yet powerful great video hope you make more vids like this!
straight to the point. thank you
great tutorial! I dont need it right now, but I will save it for later!
thank you this helps a lot but I recommend to use photoshop for the defective sprite sheet and divide it evenly with a grid. This is much less of a pain in the pixel than animating it with key frames. :D
fixed everything thank you
Wow, I love you.
Dude u teached literally something that i needed, thank u
1:25 it works with sync_to_physics off in the AnimatableBody2d's settings. but remote transform is better yeah
Thank You So Much Bro:- IF SOMEONE GETTING CLICK( input map action for mouse left click) ISSUE THEN CHECK IT OUT:- In Godot 4, you can map the left mouse button click to an action in the Input Map. Here’s how you can do it: Open your project in Godot. Go to Project > Project Settings > Input Map. Add a new input action (e.g., name it “click”) and map it to the left mouse button. In your script, you can check for the mouse button release using the following code: func _on_input_event(viewport, event, shape_idx): if event is InputEventMouseButton and event.is_action_released("click"): # Your code here Remember to replace "click" with the name of your input action. Now you’re all set to handle left mouse button clicks! 🖱
For a completely noob user like me, I don't know how did you get the KinematicBody2D reference in 1:15. Not sure if that is a node type (which I think not), or how did you end up with that extends. I think I will have to skip the video, thanks.
Godot changed kinematic body 2d to charecter body 2d so just chnge that Ig it will work
It's a good tutorial but it can sometimes be hard to tell what you're doing because of how much you zoom in. If we could see your entire screen I think that would help a lot
Thank you so much bro!
hello Dude texture region is not showing for me what do i do wrong
Hey, it’s on the right hand side in godot 4.x in the inspector panel. Under region, there’s a button titled “Edit Region”
@@BrettShalagan thank you so much brother
I would like to know how i can connect the laser script to trigger damage on the enemy
ColorRect can interfere with mouse interactions because it captures input events by default. To ensure that the ColorRect does not interfere with your other game mechanics, you can set its mouse filter to "Ignore". Steps to Set the Mouse Filter of a ColorRect to Ignore 1. Select the `ColorRect` Node: - In the Scene tree, select the `ColorRect` node that you are using as your background. 2. Access the Inspector: - In the Inspector panel, look for the `Mouse` section. 3. Set the Mouse Filter: - Find the `Mouse` section, which contains the `Mouse Filter` property. - Change the `Mouse Filter` property from `Stop` (default) to `Ignore`. Godot Version: 4.2.2
In the Object script I would add another condition or a seperate condition to check if the body_rev is the same as the body that is left. For me the two "slots" are very close together and the Object left the first slot while in the second slot, so the left function triggered and set the draggable flag to false. So instead of func _on_area_2d_body_exited(body): if body.is_in_group("dropable"): use func _on_area_2d_body_exited(body): if body.is_in_group("dropable") && body_ref == body:
mine doesnt have a jre folder
0:58 i don't have button "Playing"
thank you hindi man🙏😝
Great tutorial, did exactly what I needed. Thanks! Not sure if I just messed something up, but if anyone else is having issues with the object not snapping into place when released inside the slot, reduce the slots 2D area size. Worked for me.
Thank you so much :)
thanks bro
And debugging is not possible? Do you have to export to APK every time you test it and then reinstall it on your phone?
Unfortunately yeah
Do you have a GitHub with the code for the bit at the end? It looks really good
Hello! I was following the tutorial as normal, until I got an error with the "get.viewport()" function. Godot is telling me that it "cannot find property 'viewport' on base 'Callable,'". Is there a way to fix this, or some library I need to inport perhaps?
Nevermind, I figured it out!
Great video. Things have changed a bit since 4.0. Would love to see an updated video of this if you havn't already.
I'm a bit late but I just have one question, does delta not matter when moving animation players, even though it's in the process function?
make more new tutorial please
Thanks a lot!
Thank You
doesnt work if the enemy is in its own scene, itll mess up the rest of the logic
Hi, bro. How can I using mask to do a skill icon cooldown effect? like 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% with a half transparent mask on the image?
someone pls help i am on godot 3 and have the same code but the loading scene just freezes until the scene I am trying to load is done.
Thank you, friend! I love these short tutorials. Just to echo a comment from below - a pushable block tutorial would be great! I think Godot changed the inertia settings recently so older tutorials don't seem to work anymore. I've also been struggling with ladders, if you're looking for tutorial ideas ☺
Awesome work! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
Hi I am having some issues and I was hoping I could get some help. When I hover my dragable object over the area it does not change colour not does it snap to it when released. I made sure it's a staticbody2d and it's grouped in the group called 'dragable'. Somehow it doesnt regonize it at all. It however does appear as soon as I pick up my dragable object. Any ideas? Thank you so much!
maybe you forgot to connect the signal "$Area2D.body_entered" with "_on_area_2d_body_entered"
OMG BRO THANK YOU!!!
THANK YOU, this helped me solve a really niche problem I was having in my game SUBBED
Excellent Tutorial. Thank You
Every Dash tutorial I've found just increases the speed variable. Was really hopeful for this one to solve my problem as there doesn't seem to be any explanation on how to make a Dash that is actually like hollow knight in that it doesn't matter if you're moving or not. You just hit the dash button and it dashes forward. Like a rocket. Like Celeste. I am really struggling to figure this out!
I flip my sprite when running to the left, so I made the dash check if my sprite is flipped. Now you can also dash while not moving into a direction. Maybe that helps!
