Some nice grounds but in my experience of non league football the best grounds are those smack bang in the middle of built up towns or housing areas. So many clubs have sold off their old grounds as they needed renovating and the land was worth loads due to the central locations. But they end up out on the edge of towns in new grounds with nothing around them or on industrial estates. They are soulless places in my opinion and they always struggle to generate any kind of decent atmosphere even for big games. But an old non league ground that has been there for over hundred years, with character, a mix of different stands and developments done over time, in a central location surrounded by old terrace houses containing the buzz of a packed out crowd, on a drizzly mid week FA cup game against a football league side? It creates an electric atmosphere that beats most premier league teams stadiums.

A wooden stadium is a terrible idea, fire is a real risk.

This video is wrong. The offset gable stand was because it was originally a dog track and that was the finish line.

i stopped watching when it got political . sick of all this red-poppy gloryfication of the war machine being shoved into sports arenas and focred minutes silence. people who dont believe in this are being arrested for speaking out. so there was no freedom gained by that war.

The actual reason for the offset gable in the East Stand is because it was originally built at a greyhound stadium, and that's where the finish line was.

Never ever forget how Milton Keynes got their football club. It must never happen again and the FA , football league, and government are all to blame. Fair play to Wimbledon and their supporters they didnt let their club die they reformed it , built their own ground back in Wimbledon and got back to playing league football. I wish them nothing but the best and hope the fans of the future realise what they have and what they lost.

I’m guessing the bloke you interviewed wasn’t even born when the club I’ve been supporting since 1982 was ripped from our community and dumped in a shit town (MK). We had no choice but to reform. MK is a plastic franchise club, no fans and no one likes them.

It is a shame you are to young to have been to Plough Lane when Wimbledon played there. It was quite the experience to see football at that place. Their current stadium location was once a Stock Car and Greyhound racing track that my Dad would take us too, to see the cars not the dogs. Also an interesting stadium.

MK are a disgrace to football. Shortcutters. If Milton Keynes wanted a football club they should have started at the bottom like everybody else. They should be reviled for as long as they exist.

His club is a failed experiment, and one which the vast majority of the footballing world look on with utter distain. It's not wonder he has to lie to himself to feel better

Great to see you enjoyed the day there. As a former volunteer at the club (I ran the club shop before Chris took over and made the matchday programme) you hit the nail on the head with the atmosphere and friendly nature of those at the club. It is, however, that police association that has given so many a tarnished and misunderstood view of the club and what the volunteers are doing now.

With all due respect as it's largely a good video, please don't call it a derby. It's definitely not a derby. Even the term rivalry is controversial, but a derby has to be a game between local rivals and these 2 aren't local.
