Secret 4AC Flywheel/Clutch Upgrade!

Not many people know about this little modification. Using factory Toyota parts you can have a significant upgrade for your 4A-C powered Toyota. By removing 3 pounds off the crank, you gain significant throttle response and give your 4A-C a little pep to its step. Those pins don’t need grade their their to be still and hold the pad in place not slide around easily

Good explanation. Going even further.. the Chassis Trim has three variables to determine it: Engine Revision (Ex: *4*A), Drive Type (Ex: RWD) and in some cases suspension type (Independent rear suspension, Solid rear axle, etc. Only seen this last one on RA6X Celicas). This is why a 4A FWD Corolla of that generation is an AE82, a 3A FWD one an AE81, a 3A RWD would be an AE85, and a 4A RWD an AE86
Asi mismo investigue hace 3 años atras y es lo mismo descubrir para ese tiempo, todos los ae86 USA son iguales, lo que cambia es la mecánica y el interior y como quiera los suben de precio, aca nunca llegaron los paquetes deportivos, solo cosas opcionales como aleron o chapaletas y no se por que pagan $30,000 en un ae86 que ni completo esta, tiene que ser o $4,000, $5,000, $10,000 dependiendo de la condición gts y sr5 o dx mucho menos por que tras que ahi que cambiar el motor si deseas hacerlo, por que los sr5 o dx son bueno para projecto pero un gts NO por que le quitas el valor y esas cajas no ahi ya. Estan pagando por un auto que no tienen paquetes deportivos, eso es solo es exclusivo de Japon por que alla estan muchos mas equipados que los ae86 USA por eso el precio alla es elevado.

Where can you buy the clutch and flywheel I also have a 4ac in my 86 I’m working on does it make a big difference in how it drives?
You will most likely need to do some junkyard hunting for a 7afe 6 bolt flywheel. The clutch should be readily available through pretty much any parts store that supplies aisin or exedy OE clutch kits. The clutch itself will feel about the same, but it is a little stronger and durable. The biggest change in performance is that the engine is a bit more free. RPMs will climb and fall faster.
I'm pretty sure greasing up those pins and other metal cross plate will eliminate a popping sound I get when hitting the brakes

I have a 1990 Lexus 400 I need a master cylinder and a brake booster are the 1990 and 1995 is the Same way to remove both of them
It’s not exactly the same, but it is very similar. 1990 is actually slightly easier because it’s slightly less complicated of a system
1996 is a little different because it doesn't have the rubber hose coming off the side. At least mine doesn't. But this was very helpful and I'm glad I had a vise for the bench bleeding!
How hard is it to fix rust in the pockets , mine only has a little bit
The only true way to fix it is to cut out the rust and weld in new metal.
Damn bro I think I forgot to put grease in the steering rack rubbers 😢 thats a lot of work again 😝
You should be able to do it on the car without removing the rack. Just loosen the clamps to the rubber boots and slide them down over the tie rods, grease, and pop them back into place and retighten the clamps. Not fun if you are on your back tho. ;)

thank you for the video, ive the same car i changed the master cylinder including the black part attached to it after assembling all parts. VSC light appeared on the dashboard what could be the issue ? ive done reset OBD system but still

What engine do you have in the white one? Is it the 3A-U and what carbs do you have? How does it perform?
Hey!!! It’s a 4A-C engine with Yamaha R1 Mikuni Carbs. The carbs fixed the flooding issue around hard left hand corners and gives better throttle response. It’s not as “streetable” because the carbs don’t have enough choke to warm up such a big engine so you have to manually warm the car up by dialing the idle adjuster way up, and then bring it down as it gets warm. But once it’s up to temperature it functions perfectly. Because the throttle is meant for a wrist throttle the gas pedal has less stroke than a stock setup so the gas pedal is more touchy, but I got used to it pretty quickly

It's a completely stripped down car and all in boxes as it was getting ready for painting etc. It has been in that state for a couple of years now but doesn't look too bad actually. The guy claims to have all the parts to put it back together and wants 3000$ for it. I can send you pictures on email. I'd really appreciate your help
@@alinetskyi DM me on my social medias. TikTok and Instagram is the same username. $3,000 is an absolute steal for a chassis these days. A true 85 is different and has some challenges but it’s still a very rewarding car to drive.
