Excellent tutorial! What controls are you using for your stick, throttle, and pedals?
I got myself a Virpil collective and stick (the basic ones) for Christmas because they were having a big sale. I got the higher end base for the stick, though. I am still using the cheap logitech pedals. I'm thinking about a pedal upgrade, but I really can't decide what I would get ifI pull the trigger ... so many good options.
Awesome job and very interesting historical facts. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Stumbled upon this video, I don't do or watch anything to do with flightsim honestly, but I subscribed. Amazing quality on everything, love all the explaining you do on where you're flying past, history included, keep it up!!
Wow, thanks!
Show more than cockpit view.
Thanks for the suggestion, it's not the first time someone has mentioned that. I've tried to get better, and it would seem like a pretty simple thing to do, I even have a button mapped to my stick that will pop us in and out of the cockpit. But, particularly when I'm handflying (as opposed to using AP), it's a lot harder than one might think to try to navigate, track my notes, watch all my gauges, fly the plane, keep the conversation going AND remember to switch views ... much less stay outside of the plane for more than few seconds. I'm going to keep pushing myself because there are definitely a lot of spots where the views are better when we hop out. Thanks for dropping a line and I hope to see you around!
Cool flight! And Montenegro is certainly a beautiful country. This flight shows it and I've seen some drone videos from there as well. With mountains and picturesque lakeside towns. 😊
I was shocked when I saw how beautiful that place was.
I took a boat tour allong de islands : Star, Hibiscus, Palm and Fisher it was a great trip with a nice Vieuw of Miami by night. Nice to see this video 6 times this vacation 😂
Very nice!
Cool flight, smooth, never had to use my burp bag!
I was hoping I wouldn't have to clean up after that one.
@@MSFSFlightPlansNick your flying skills continue to grow with each video I watch!
Another great video. Can i please ask, are those power lines you mention part of this particular scenery or an add on? I have tried the powerline's and solar farms addon from Mamudesigns (marinas, powerlines, cable cars packs) but can never see any powerline's whatsoever. My content folder see's the files in mfs2020 but when i fly i don't see anything that looks like powerlines and i have flown over most of the UK.
Yeah, I leave the Mamu packs in all the time so I don't know what is default and what it adds. I'm trying to think if I've seen a bunch of powerlines in the UK and where they would have been ... regardless, if you're not seeing them anywhere at all it sounds like something is amiss.
@@MSFSFlightPlans Can you suggest an area were you know defiantly were these power lines from Mamu would be so i can give it a go and defiantly see if they are in the same space as yours then i can say if i have an issue?
Yep, take our Ark of Kentucy flight in a chopper or bush plane (short runway). I did a group flight with one of our members and she couldn't see the powerlines in the cleared corridor we were using for VFR routing. She didn't have the pack installed. The vid is short(er), and I point them out while we're going along, so you'll know precisely where they should be.
Wow, I need to get this airplane.
Yeah man, VERY cool.
Nice! And I do like those stories from your own life and experiences. 😄
Where did you get this helo
You can get it in the sim, it's one of the Local Legneds. The float variant comes with it.
Make sure you check out the Lingotto hotel (old Fiat factory) in Turin. There’s a racetrack on the roof and I think a helipad. I’m pretty sure I took a chopper flight from that pad and it was awesome. Didn’t realize what it was when I chose it😊
I put it on the hit list!
@@MSFSFlightPlans I went there again today and found a POI called Reggio di Venaria that’s cool too.
I wish they would add an option to toggle or remove window scratches. Some people like them but I’m with you - I hate them. Also fingerprints on glass panels and glare shields.
The only thing I can think is that it is supposed to be swirl marks that you would see from a distance .... like outside the plane. But even that wouldn't be worth the price of getting hit in the face with that mess from INSIDE the plane.
@@MSFSFlightPlans I thought it was supposed to be wear and tear.
I do think it's supposed to be wear and tear. I think it's ok with a little, but when it disrupts the view it's overdone.
Window scratches suck so much.
If you guys haven't seen it already, there is a clean glass mod from JayDee at .to that takes care of it for most planes. I see it has been updated to include the P-47. I failed to update my file before that flight (naturally). But it covers most of the planes in the sim. flightsim.to/file/5453/jd-clean-glass-mod-all-aircrafts
I wonder if you can help. when you say left click to move the flight plan between two points, you get a little cross pointer as you hover over the line. When i try to left click it just keeps moving the whole map around. I cant seem to be able to move the yellow line as you do while left clicking. Is there something i am missing?
Are you clicking and holding or just clicking? If you just click (and then release) it will activate. But if you hold it will move the map around.
@@MSFSFlightPlans Just tried and even a short click does nothing, i don't see the crosshair to move the line about. All i see is the little hand from the mouse click, weird. No worries.
Jeez, that is definitely strange. Unless you just installed it (or maybe even if you did), I might try totally deleting the app and reinstalling it.
@@MSFSFlightPlans Thanks for your help, i will look into it.
always wanted to throw somethig off the Tallahassee Bridge lol and another AWESOME Video Thank You
Yamas, great tour again Nick.
Thanks, Ress!
Cool flight as always! I hope there will be a World Update for this region as well. But maybe we'll see improvement in the upcoming MSFS 2024. They say they have lots of new Bing data.😉
I don't know how some of these sim maps are still this bad. Lots of "missing" places in the sim look fine in Bing, Google, and whatever LittleNavMap is using.
@@MSFSFlightPlans Don't know. I have noticed that when I zoom all the way in the world map in the sim you can see ugly squares of missing data. While you zoom out a bit it looks better. But those areas usually are very bad in the sim. I have always thought it is because of bad weather and clouds covering the ground. Sometimes maybe of security or military reasons.
Right! Russia and China seem to have extremely poor coverage. But you know the US military can see every square millimeter in perfect resolution.
We’re exactly is that clothing optional place.
I bookmarked it on the satellite image at the end so you can find it without much straining. I'm pretty sure it's still there.
Nice flight & lovely Tour, lot's of history around that neck of the woods for sure, well done. Have they added Simbrief integration, tablet or failures yet to this plane? Love your Tail Number lol :) I Sadly have too many MSFS needs/wishes - New PC/New GPU - New Controls/Rudder - Tobi Eye Tracker - New 4K Monitor - I'd also hate how much mouse clicking & ideally would like Peripheral's with actual buttons, rollers etc Still waiting for that lotto win :) As a poor & aging fella who used to have a PPL license it pains me not to be able to Sim properly. But enjoy many peoples videos & content.
Yeah, I hear you, brother. People always gape when I tell them how much I spend simming. But I don't golf, hunt, drive a fancy car, or even eat out much. This is what I love and I'm a tightwad in every other area of my life. I don't think the EFB was working at all in that plane, btw.
@@MSFSFlightPlans Nice yeah it not cheap, I hope to be able to get back to flying sim wise with some upgrades when possible. Glad you're using and getting a lot from the Siming - it is amazing what's possible these days & thanks for sharing it all. 👍
Good stuff! Santorini definitely looks better. Did they fix the town too? It looks terrible in the default scenery.
HG! What's up? Some structures on the fringes are still flat, most of the buildings are still defaultish, but it's passable now. They threw in a few landmarks, too. The big thing for me was the cliffs and terrain relief.
All Greek to me lol Heyyy another Awesome flight as usual
😁
Great video, Do more please.
Just a tiny zit on Earth yet it looks really cool. Nice flight ;)
Imagine being the guys stranded on that place in 1840?
I know someone who may have been there before some nature guy called David Attenborough . I would be surprised if He didnt go there lookin for some unusal animials or plant life
Nice flight👌
Thanks ✌
I can't remember even hearing about this island during my 51 years . 😅 But it's interesting and what's so cool about this channel. But regarding remote islands; maybe you would find it interesting to visit Jan Mayen? Norwegian island 460 km from eastern coast of Greenland. It has the worlds northermost active volcano, Beerenberg. There is a small military facility there and The Meterological Institute, that together has about 17 employees stationed on the island. It has its own airfield and the scenery look quite good in MSFS if I remember correctly.😊
Oh man! That is PRECISELY the kind of stuff we need to be scoping out. I'll put it on our hit-list.
@@MSFSFlightPlans Cool!👌 In the meantime, here's some Wiki facts 🙂: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Mayen
Thabks!
You're not going to believe this ... I just flew over Jan Mayen a couple of weeks ago! I didn't recognize the name because I didn't know that's what it was called. I've now written it (the proper name) down next to my "North of Iceland volcano" entry in our hitlist book
@@MSFSFlightPlans Yes, it's one of those small spots on the map that you almost have to use a magnifying glass to see.😄 It's inn the middle of nowhere. As I write this I am uncertain if there are any freeware for it. The airfield is almost invisible in the sim as it is as dark as the black volcanic sand surrounding it.
Another Cool Video Thank Youu
It's going to be a long haul to get the 850 down there.
@@MSFSFlightPlans pfff lol hmm yah yes it would
Nice plane and nice place to fly. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats Nick, you can now add test pilot to your resume. I spent a few freezing layovers in Cold Bay with CL-44 aircraft. I suspect the change in MP at FL18 is the superchargers kicking in.
Ohhh, yep. I bet you're right! So cool if they actually modeled that. That's got to be it. I already made my test pilot patch out of construction paper and safety pins.
Hya Nick another Cool Plane and another Cool Flight Thank You. I can not see Russia from my house neither ( just thought I'd throw that in )
You're welcome, Mike!
Very cool! Interesting plane, this is my son’s favorite place to fly in the sim. Love the volcanoes ❤ I sure hope they fix the constant up and down in Fs2024 - it’s really irritating.
The worst parts is the landings. You start trying to correct for the oscillation, which just makes each one successively worse. That happened on the landings for both of our last two flights. I think the Tomahawk may be true to life in that aspect, I don't know about the XF.
Nice flight ❤
Thanks ✌
Great flight, always wanted to drive down to the keys but life would always seem to interrupt my plans.
Let me know when you head down this way, Ress. I'll give you a tour of Jax and St. Augustine from ground level!
@@MSFSFlightPlans Thanks for a most generous offer, but at this stage in my life I will have to be content with watching your videos and reading travel brochures.
Great flight, Nick. It's such a flying brick but I love the plane.
I wish I had flown ANYTHING in real life. I'd love to get a sense of the difference between the sim and the real deal.
Nice flight in the "Traumahawk" a nickname it earned from several design problems, including oscillation in pitch about its lateral axis.
Well, the name certainly fits! I read somewhere that they also intentionally designed it to enter a spin much easier than something like a 172, for training purposes ... which sounds like a brilliant excuse if it WASN'T intnwtional.
Not to mention that they won't fly out of the spin.
@@Blxz That's right! Thanks, BLXz, you were the one telling me that. The problem with the 172 is that it would self-correct from the spin, right?
@MSFSFlightPlans yeah, if you leave the controls alone for a bit most smaller planes are aerodynamically stable enough to fly out of a spin, nose down likely but no longer spinning. The tomahawk is designed in such a way that it will spin hard and remain in that way until it either lithobrakes or the pilot puts in sustained correct procedure opposite rudder for a couple of seconds. Great design/terrible design are really just two sides of the same coin.
@@Blxz Lithobraking :D love it :D
Lovely flight.. I somehow have a weird attraction to the traumahawk
It's a cool plane if you're into the trainer class of fliers. Very well designed, and you definitely get a different "feel" while flying it.
Great flight ! Iam in Florida in 2.5 weeks and maybe we do a trip to key west. I have been here before and see the keys.
Where in FL are you going? Miami?
Canadian Registry hmmmmm ok cool thank you and good your in FLA hoping to fly there soon in a TBM in the sim like some guy called Steveo.
This is on my bucket list IRL. Looks good in the sim too. I guess you saw Jax bridges in the marketplace? I think it’s RK Bridger.
I did see it! And very reasonably priced, too!
The planes are easy to fly with a keyboard if you customize ur buttons. Try going external cam and just flying. Great vid tho!!! I subscribed!
Enjoyed the flight, Nick. 👍
Glad to hear it!
Great and interesting flight! And I laughed when I became aware of the tailnumber. 😂 Especially when the sluggish controls gave you a challenge on approach.
so I did a DM in Discord thank you again soo much
Awesome, man. I'll check it out tonight.
To cancel the pusher light you have to pull the yolk back otherwise it stays fully forward which is why you had the front wheel jump on the runway
Ahhhhh ... thank you! I kept thinking it looked awfully close to the panel after the test. I wonder if that had something to do with the control issues on approach...
Great flight and area Sicilian theme park Etnaland is located at the foot of one of the beauties on UNESCO's World Heritage List: the majestic volcano Etna, near Catania. The park revamped its offerings over time, providing guests with increasingly exciting experiences, and in 2001, with Etnaland's Acquapark, it gained great public acclaim as the pinnacle of Sicilian summer entertainment. In 2013, Etnaland undertook a new adventure with an ambitious project, creating an amusement park: the Theme Park.
Thanks for the info!
Molte Graze. Meaningful flight for me, Mom immigrated from Catania and Dad from Palermo as youngsters. No Mafia family relations, I think?
No way! Have you been out here in real life?
@@MSFSFlightPlans Been to Naples, Rome, Milan and Pisa, never got to Sicily.
you almost forgot to bring the Cannoli. Good video by the way Thank You
Thanks, Mike!
The flight model in this plane is laughably flawed. It is not true to life at all. No plane needs to be in a cross controlled side slip to maintain centerline.
Phew ... I thought I was just blowing the landing. I wonder what makes this one so hard to dial in for the devs?
@@MSFSFlightPlans not sure why they are struggling so much either. There is a lot of discussion about it in their discord.
Your videos are absolutely amazing! I am so glad I discovered your channel, and I really look forward to each video. You do an excellent job of narrating them, and sharing fascinating details and information of the locations. Great job!!!!!!!! ❤
Thank you so much. If everything goes well, I'll have another one ready for you in the morning!

It really is a match made in heaven!
