Wow that's some great depth. Though having learnt Hindi and it's "Sandhi" helps me get that which vowel will be devoiced or not almost like 90% of times , though it was definitely helpful :)

This is the best video. 100% agree with the Spanish R. L is from the Chinese influence and is what native Chinese speakers use as part of their accent. So, maybe Chinese people speaking Japanese say La Li Lu Le Lu for all of the syllables. Native Japanese speakers will use a mix, especially depending on their prefecture of origin.

《(Coming from a Chinese)》 The way I heard it explained best was the “Z” sound in Pinyin is like the “ts” sound in “caTS.” For Japanese, from that , add a little more glottal (behind the teeth, more of a typical Z sound but lying in-between) instead of the wispy “tssss.” I only have passing interest in learning Japanese(I need to master English and maybe reach Spanish intermediate level first), but as a Chinese I can say this is a very similar language, with many similar or even identical pronunciations. It may even be easier than Chinese for English speakers, simply due to hiragana existing as a somewhat crutch to not knowing characters. Wishing everyone a peaceful and fruitful language-learning journey.

Are you completely closing off the air in throat when you make theん+a/h sound? It sounds like you are completely closing off the air in your throat (just like ん+k/g) when you say れんあい、おんあつ、らんはんしゃ.
