I develop my English "accent" this way. To me there is no such thing as accent, it's only the way you talk. If you talk like someone, then.... in other people's eyes, you have a native accent.
I bought the Shadowing book, and it's great. There is also the Japanese Core 2000 Step 01 Listening Sentence Vocab + Images deck for Anki. These start slowly so you're not overwhelmed with new vocabulary. The other plus is repetition, Eventually, even I picked up the difference between 'go back' and 'change.' Great video, thank you.
