Hah, last video I mentioned 7mm Rem Mag with copper bullets and here we are! Personally, I prefer the Barnes LRX bullets - better downrange ballistics while still holding up excellently at close range. Can't ask for much more. But I agree with you 100% - I'm not a fan of "lead spray" in my meat and I really don't like the ELD-X. Or any lead core bullet that explodes like that, which is most of them at close ranges and 7mm Rem Mag speeds. But ELD-X is one of the worst.

This is a great test. Pity you didn't use a copper bullet for the 7mm Rem Mag - they really shine with copper bullets. But thank you for testing with real mediums. It is a good demonstration why NOT to use Hornady ELD-X.

You should put it up against a 35 Whelen or 35 Whelen AI. That’s probably a better match. Thanks, for the video!

Oh yes the muzzle brake at the range, my 7 rem mag tikka with break gets banished to the last table away from people at Lancefield and little river. I reckon my mosin nagant was louder before though before i sold it

I really enjoyed your video! I made one four years back with a Russian short barreled 12 gauge, with 45-70 sleeved barrel liners machined to fit the 12 gauge. It made for an awesome ( inexpensive ) double rifle.
