    We check in on the mobile app. like a month before we go. You can tell them you’ll be checking in before 3:00, that way they’ll prioritize your site. The over flow is full because when you checkout you can park your rig there and still go to the parks.

      Thanks for watching!!! So when I did the online check in about a week before I checked a box of some kind that said arrive before 3:00. When I read blogs everywhere I saw 1:00 for RV’s and 3:00 for cabins. So when the app said 3:00 is check in time I scratched my head. Folks also said on the same blogs that you can specify what loop you would like. So neither of those were options in the online checkin on the app. All i saw was I could specify if I have sides on both sides and awnings. Then it said will you arrive before 3:00, so I checked yes before 3:00. So I found the front office direct number on a blog, called that, got the front desk of the campground. I was able to add a note to my reservations that we would like to be in the 600 loop which we did get. I asked her about the checkin time. I said I hear 1:00 for RV’s she said no it was 3:00. But we could arrive earlier than that but our site may not be ready before 3:00. I went ahead with my plan to arrive at 1:00 and you saw the rest. So what should I have done? Is there something I missed? Any secrets? What was it like when you booked and checked in what did you do?. We plan on going back next year and any help would be appreciated for next time!

    • @Rutherford342
      @Rutherford342 10 дней назад

      @@GlampReview we have always arrived at or before 1? Our site has always been ready. Never had to pull around like you did. Like you if I wanted a loop I called front desk reservation number and requested. So maybe I have just been lucky. We have even camped with friends and requested sites together and obviously they didn’t guarantee this request but we got them right next to each other and we both arrived early. So I have no idea about any tricks just what we have experienced.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 10 дней назад

      Well maybe we got someone new at the check in window? Because she didn’t give us hardly info like how to even get back into the park if we drove off. The security guard had to help us with that on our last day as we left to fill up the truck. And to get our site number assigned so fast. I felt like she should of gave our site number as we waited. Then she said typically checkin is between 3 and 5 like she said on video. Well next time we’ll show at 1:00 and see how it goes.

      She was rushing me, thats what I thought too. Seems to be our luck. That part was not edited much I only took out the time where I was signing the pet contract. So what you saw was it. Had to be a new employee. At first I thought 2 hours. I’m going to have to idol my truck that long which would be horrible for it. But i was going to have to for our cats. Unfortunately we don’t have an on board generator for the camper. But then to our surprise we got a text about as soon as we finally found somewhere to park.

    We just visited at at the end of July 2024. No pool for the campground. We were told we could use the pool at the hotel but the hotel told us that wasn’t true. The staff at the store are not familiar with the rules of the resort area. Where to park, please to eat, where are the best places to go to swim in the lake, we gave up asking them questions. All the restaurants on the island sell mostly junk food so you’ll need to drive to town for something other than hamburger or nachos. I can see it would be a great place to bring your kids. We are past that stage in our lives, so for us the place was disappointing and we will not be returning. It is clean, carts are cheaper than other parks, but you really need one if you want to get around easily. I’d say for seniors, not much interest for us. We did go to the wave pool resort area. Overcrowded for us but people were enjoying themselves. Feels more like a water park attraction than an RV resort.

      All really good points. You aint lying. The campground and the hotel are not ran by the same people so I could see them not knowing. The people in the store / check in office does not know much outside of checking in we learned when we went in April 2024. Watch our newest video of this resort if you have not already. The restaurants they have are what you said. I really agree with all you said. We like it for the water park and for family fun but if I was a senior and wanted peace and quiet i would look elsewhere possibly.

    I have hydraulic jacks and never had that problem. Friend of mine had the electric likes your and had that problem every time. Was in multiple times and worked one time every time he got it back then next trip it would say out of stroke. Never figured it out. Had that problem til the day he sold it

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 2 месяца назад

      What i have learned with mine is use blocks. Keeps the legs from extending to much. Maybe one day if we trade up i’ll look for hydraulics. I only had this happen twice once on our 411 river rest video and this video. We have auto leveled at least 100 times in 2 and 1/2 years and only had an issue when i brought it home and these two times. I have made some heavy duty blocks out of 4x6 and 2x6’s i used horse stall rubber matts for the top and bottoms. I’ll talk briefly about them on our next trip. The plastic blocks i feel like they give under weight and flex a little, i think at least. So i’m going to try these heavy blocks out next. My sister and brother in laws camper has hydraulics and their jacks extend much further than mine. So yea i think electric jacks have issues because they don’t extend far enough where hydraulics do. The out of stroke error means one of the jacks has extended as far as it can so it stops with the error because it thinks it cant auto level. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching and you comment! Good to know. From what I hear hydraulics may be the way to go.

    • @gabrielpalma9418
      @gabrielpalma9418 Месяц назад

      I have 8” tall by 10” wide blocks that I always use under my hydraulic levers. Makes a difference not only for limiting the extension of the legs but also give a wider foot print for places that don’t have concrete pads

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview Месяц назад

      I made two blocks Approx. 8" x 11-1/2" and 4 at 7" x 11-1/2" recently that I'll show on the next Stop in Florida that we are about to go to. I made the rear blocks 7" because we tried the Andersen buckets (returned them) and sometimes we found that the level jacks were exactly 8" from the ground and those buckets couldn't fit because they were 8" tall but if they were 7" the would have fit. You also couldn't have the snap pads on the jacks for those buckets either. My 4 rear jacks are kind of close to the ground. When my rear jacks extend they take tension off the leaf springs too and then travel an addition 2 or 3" of lift. When things are really wonky it may even travel much further with the tires almost to the point of lift. I figure the 7" blocks should work better. I hope that means the extension will be limited more than ever. Hope these big footprint solid wood blocks will remedy my problem. I only had these auto level problems when I decided to quit using the yellow lego blocks. When it did auto level without the yellow blocks (which it did several times just fine) the RV was much more solid to us which is why we quit using the yellow blocks which then led to the two auto level issues we had with out of strokes. The concrete pad we had at this stop had some depressions and I think the issue we first had the left side was way lower causing the jacks to need to extend to far. The pad had cracks all over it creating depressions. I also noticed everyone had blocks stacked in our area, yea I should have filmed that and talked about it but didn't think at that time I was so done with auto level I couldn't think. I'll try to be more detailed in my filming in the future, our channel is still new and evolving as well as my creating these videos. I hope over all you enjoyed the video and got something from it, at least entertainment? We will see if these solid blocks work, stay tuned.

    We're in a NC RV park now, 1 1/2 hrs. outside of Asheville. We have sufficient solar to power our 35ft coach just like we were plugged into a power pedestal, so are camping in a spacious, no-hook-up site for only $100/month. We fill and dump about every 2 weeks, which isn't much inconvenience for all the money we save. As retired full-timers we can't beat the value. We couldn't do it without our huge solar/battery system that allows us to run our heat pump 24/7 if needed. Greenbrier sure is a pretty park though. It's too bad we could never afford to stay there.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview 3 месяца назад

      Just curios can you run air conditioning off the solar?

    • @SuperSushidog
      @SuperSushidog 3 месяца назад

      @@GlampReview Yes. When the sun is shining, we can run both our 14.5k btu Furrion rooftop A/C unit and our 12k btu EG-4 mini-split heat pump while charging our battery at the same time. We usually run our mini split in our bedroom all night and it only uses about 10% of our 320ah (16.4kwh) 48v battery doing so, which means we can run our A/C 24hrs. a day if needed. It can also provide efficient heat too, reducing our propane usage. It allowed us to get rid of our propane RV fridge and replace it with a residential fridge which cools better, has 50% more room inside and runs entirely off of free sunshine. This saves us over $1 a day in propane use too. We have a 4,400w solar array on our roof made from 8, 550watt panels racked 15" off our roof. We also have a 620w liftable array on the side of our motorhome over our bedroom window to charge our 560ah (7.1kwh) 12v battery. It virtually lifts itself using gas struts to the exact angle needed to maximize solar output, while standing safely on the ground. It serves as a nice bedroom window awning too. We designed and built our system ourselves a little at a time, as we could afford it. It took us almost 5 years to complete the build. Everything, including the super-efficient mini-split heat pump cost us around $11,500 doing all the work ourselves. Not only does it give us more options on the places we can stay, but it saves us on electrical costs, RV park and campground fees too. We boondocked for 10 months last year for free on BLM and FS land out west, saving us a ton of money. We only pay $100/mo. at the RV park we're at now compared to their regular $600/mo. FHU rate, saving us $500/mo. If you're curious to see some pics, send me your e-mail address. Mine is Sushidog@earthlink.net.

I'll be dropping a new video today on this series where I talk about that, right after I give a less than 8 minute complete site tour on the new video. Back in April when we were there they hadn't even gotten past the grading. They were using dirt from the new water park addition to build up the area. The guy that got on to me for trying to film the area said that they may have it ready by the end of summer. Be sure to check the new video out today when it drops around noon.
