Thank you! I haven’t seen that either. The map was an idea I had to help you get a better idea of where we (the camera) are and what the view would look like from that site, the map helps to place you. I first did this on the Greenbrier site tour in part 4 of that series. I also did that on Camp Margaritaville too. Glad you like that, expect more of it in future episodes! Thanks for watching!
We found Talona last year after it was recommended by a friend that lives in Elijay. Overall, we really liked the campground and loved the area. There's lots to do around Elijay and Blue Ridge. Good restaurants, bars, wineries, orchards, hiking trails, and Jeep roads. We always get a site in the Eagle Crest because the sites are more level than the other sections. Waking up to that view is great. The staff there is always very helpful. The facilities are nice and very well maintained. There is cool blue lighting around the roads at night, and not many streetlights. Being dark at night is nice, but make sure you have a flashlight to walk your dog at night.
Well said! Thank you for watching! We only had a few days there and Tonya had to work most of it. So we didn’t venture outside of the campground. There is a lot of outdoor activities like you said in that area.
One thing I failed to mention in the video is the pool is heated in the fall, winter and spring. I was told year round swimming. Totally slipped by me to mention that in the video, I guess because it was so hot. The new pool will be heated as well.
Go Trax R1. We like them. The batteries that it comes with is a 7 amp hr battery. I’m considering buying a 10 amp hr battery. Tonya,s battery last a little longer than mine. I get about 15 miles on mine and the battery stars flashing. I think Tonyas will get 20 miles. I’m not sure if its how i’m goosing it or if my battery is got an issue holding a charge. Other than that we like them very good.
The bike rack I talk about in this video has not be men so great. It broke but the warranty and customer service were great. I might beed to make a video about it. We got a beefier one from the same company and its been better but it too is not perfect. Its hard to find a good bike rack made for RV’s. The back of an RV trailer has a ton of g forces and bike rack take a huge beating. If our replacement rack starts to fail next thing we are goign to do is get large totes and stare the foldup gotrax in those inside the camper and be done with it. But as for the bikes we love them. The batteries don’t go too long. Maybe it’s my driving habits too. I did find on Amazon after market ones with 14amp hr. So in theory those should run the bike for at least 30 to 40 miles more than your tail bone can take lol.
Just curious what the elevation is at Talona Ridge. We live in Central Florida and are always looking for a way to escape the heat and humidity in summer. Do you think it’s noticeably cooler there than other parts of the south?
Yes cooler in spring & fall. Winter can get snow and be extremely cold. But mid summer can still get in the 90’s. April and May would be warm but not hot. June will start to get hot. July and first of August would be hot. End of Aug to November would be good. Best time to go would be October and early November for the leaves changing color. Weather would be great. Fire and night is nice then too.
Thank you! During that video we went late June and it was nice. The mornings were a warm cool in the mid to upper 70’s. But high noon got upper 80’s to low 90’s. But the humidity is not bad. The sunset was very pleasant and the night bike rides were perfect weather.
I thank you guys for having the map as you traveled. That was something I’ve never seen anyone do before

Great video, guys! We have been excited about one day planning a trip to Talona. Hopefully, we can get out there soon.
Thank you! And thank you for watching! I bet the fall season would be amazing there!
@@GlampReview I bet it would. That’s our favorite time of the year to camp. The leaves would be beautiful there in the fall, I’m sure.

@@GlampReview that’s another reason to plan a trip
Those are cool E-Bikes. Which model are they?

It is cooler there at night as appose to florida in the mid summer. Humidity is better for sure.
@@GlampReview great! It’s on our list now. Appreciate the great review.
