    In This episode we (James, Tonya, Simon and Annie) hook up the RV and head to Gatlinburg Tennessee to Greenbrier Campground in the Great Smoky Mountains. In this episode we cover the campground with some detail and Dolly Parton's Stampede. This picturesque campground has the Little Pigeon River flowing around and through the campground. This is our top pick for camping in general and maybe the best spot of RV camping in the Great Smoky Mountains! Join our adventure as we start a 4 part series on Greenbrier with Part 1. Part 1 and 4 will cover the campground as Part 4 will have a complete walk around the property showing off this awesome campground. Part 2 and 3 will show our adventures as we cover area attractions such as Dollywood at Christmas!

    Love your Channel, I have one recommendation for you James, I also have a Ford truck pulling my 5th wheel and found that the tank needs to be fed a little too often. My solution..... a 56 gallon tank to replace the stock small tank from S and B tanks! Just a few hundred bucks and now I go 500 miles towing between mandatory Fuel Stops!

      Thanks for sharing! And thanks for watching! I’ll check into that.
      Yea when i plan my routes i plan a fuel stop about every 200 miles to play it safe. For the life of me I don’t understand why ford didn’t figure a way to make the tank larger there is room under there.

    Excellent review of the campground. Beautiful scenery and loved seeing the holiday decorations. Makes me wished it were Christmas time again to go camping. Looks like Dolly stampede is a fun place to go at the holidays too.

      It was all a great experience! This is Tonya's favorite! Simon and Annie loved it too! They had so much squirrel activity to watch. That site has a squirrel nest inside a tree next to the back window. I kick myself for not filming that. They watched them come in and out of that tree all day long.

      @@GlampReview The campground cleared out a day after we got there, temperatures dropped to 26 degrees at night, freezing a few water lines, but Gatlinburg didn’t seem to slow down at all.

      Interesting we had 50’s most of the time. It did get as low as 40 but no 20’s. In 2022 we went the week before thanksgiving and temperatures got in the teens - the campground turned the water off, but warned everyone so we filled our fresh tank and turned our tank heaters on.

      @@GlampReview Yes , we are just lucky like that sometimes, it was warm the week before we went, and the sun was shinning all the way, on our trip home. Y'all keep making these awsome videos , I'm learning from them also.

      We enjoy the Ridge, They are building a new one beside of the Appalachian Museum off of I-75. We also like Pine Mountain campground. If you get a chance, Look up Defeated Creek Campground in Carthage Tn. It's a recreation. gov campground. It;s on Cordell Hull Lake. @@GlampReview

      We have the ridge on our schedule for July! My sister and brother n law love the ridge. So we are trying that the first time in July. Thanks for these ideas! I’ll write these down. You got me curious on the Defeated creek campground. With all the apps you think it would be easy to find a good campground but the best way is word of mouth like this. Thanks!

    Your campsite was so cuuuute! For some reason, I thought Annie was the light colored cat.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview  3 месяца назад +1

      Annie is the black and white tuxedo cat. Simon is the Lynx Siamese (grey and white color).
      Tonya got that blow up from Amazon. Next time during Christmas camping i’m going to do more decorations.

      We stayed at Twin Creek RV Resort. It was great! There was a trolley that would pick you up and drop you off in front of the campground made it much easier to see Gatlinburg as well as Pigeon Forge.

      @@GlampReview that site y’all had was amazing. I will have to check that place out next. I have never heard of that one. All the campsites I found in that area look like a glorified parking lot. Another reason why I like Twin Creek also.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview  3 месяца назад +1

      Amen! Totally agree! We have booked a couple that appear to be parking lots in that area so we’ll see what we think of that. Tonya would rather go back to Greenbrier but I told her we have to try others so we can review different ones. We’ll have to check out Twinn Creek next year.

    Very expensive place

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview  3 месяца назад

      It can be depending on the time of year. It was not that bad in December.

    • @GlampReview
      @GlampReview  3 месяца назад +1

      It's also relative, some may say expensive where some may say thats a good price for what you're getting. We paid 112.66 per night during our stay in December. Some places we stay during the summer we pay 140 per night. Definitely not state park pricing for sure. It is truly my Wife's favorite place and making her happy makes me happy. Now during the summer it can be double the price but people still pay it. The review we made was not based on price but the scenery and the comfort.

      Some do think that. Everyone has different tastes. Good thing is you’ll aways find a campground that you like 😁 or at least you hope. Thanks for watching!
