I love how you guys talk about the accessibility at these places. My parents are older and have mobility issues, so it helpful to know how accessible places are. Great content as always!
I have to say that this was the best restaurant review I have seen for Gatlinburg. Your explanations were perfect. Also, I am glad you mentioned Joe and Pops. That place is great!
We’re in gatlinburg right now and watched this video on the way down. We took your suggestion and went to Smoky Mountain Brewery. Oh man. I’m so glad we did. We loved it so much we’re going back every time we’re down this way. Thanks so much for making this video! We’re staying in pigeon forge so I’ll have to watch your recommendations for pigeon forge too!
We were in Gatlinburg a few days ago and tried out a couple of you top five. The Cherokee Grill was a bust for us. I had the teriyaki steak which I ordered medium well and it came out well done. It was very tough and it had no flavor. My son wasn't thrilled with the limited menu. My husband said his steak was okay. We were expecting more from all of the good reviews we had read about them. Maybe they were just having an off night when we were there. We also checked out the Taste of Italy and it was very tasty! We couldn't believe how big the portions were. I had the Philly Cheesesteak and my son had a Chicken Parm sub. They were so big we just ate half and took the rest to the park the next day. My husband had a chicken pasta dish he said was delicious. We also liked the Garlic knots. Great tasting food and at a good price. The staff was very friendly and nice too.
We have been to Gatlinburg a few times in the past several years with two other couples. We stay in a favorite AirBnB, and hike and explore the surrounding mountains, and trails. This list is perfect! We are always looking for different dining experiences. Next time we go, we'll definitely look up a couple of these restaurants. Thanks for the suggestions!
So many great restaurants to choose from! I only have two that I absolutely can not miss when I go to Gatlinburg. Those are Cherokee Grill and The Pancake Pantry. I dream of those two all year long 😂
We are headed up for just a quick weekend stay next week. We were just talking about what new restaurants we could try since we come up normally twice a year. Thanks for the recommendations and thanks for what yall do. 😊
I just seen it, thank you you fo= the giveaway and congratulations on over10000 subscribers you guys really deserve It you do such a excellent job and your whole family is wonderful
J.O.E and POP’s was one of our favorites. We ate at so many good places when we visited the Smokies last year for our honeymoon, but J.O.E and POP’s was only 5-10 mins from our cabin, so we ended up getting lunch there twice during the week and absolutely loved it! Highly recommend! Awesome video as always guys 😊
Nice video guys, we visited a few weeks ago and we always stay in the arts and crafts district. We passed Crystal creek 100 times and finally ate there, wow was it good. It's a must try for anyone. We love the Pottery House the most. Y'all are so great and we appreciate all you do. Keep it up Smoky mountain family
Just found this video. We go to Gatlinburg at least once a year and have I never eaten at any of these restaurants. Always glad to hear of new places to try. We love the best Italian place on the strip since 1 calzone can easily feed two adults. Now I'll have to try the one you recommend, specially since I graduated from UK. Thanks!
I just want to say thank you for your recommendations! I’m from Jersey and met my friend here for a mini vacay. We did The Alamo the first night but was stumped what to eat on the second. We rewatched your video and decided on taste of Italy. It didn’t disappoint!
You guys recommended Smoky Mountain Brewery, so we ended up going there the last time I was in Gatlinburg. Within that week, I ate there 3x's. The food is great, and the parking on top of that, makes it gold. As you know we already love JOE & Pops. We're for sure going to have to try The Taste of Italy. Those folks have great taste!
Going to the Gatlinburg in October to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. Gatlinburg is where we went on our honeymoon back in 1994. Cannot wait to try a place or two on your list.

Great info! Thanks! I know yall were hunting great smelling candles for fall and Christmas. Go to the Applewood Restaurant in Sevierville. They have great smelling candles in their gift shop. They have several great ones. Alot of things to see there.
This was a GREAT Restaurant Review video! I don't often comment just to compliment the video itself, but BRAVO! I am here in Pigeon Forge for the next 5 days, and now I plan to hopefully try the Taste of Italy, and perhaps the Sub Shop! My Wife and Kids are not fine dining restaurant types, but I personally would love to visit All of the restaurants mentioned in this video!
Great review. We'll have to put one of these on our list to keep for later. Those steaks and that Spaghetti on #2 looked delicious. Thanks for sharing.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I used to work at the Taste of Italy and the sauce is from a can and they just add spices to it ..lol Great video as always!! As a local, Smith and Sons is pretty darn good ... surprisingly
Not saying you were incorrect at at, the only reason it was mentioned on the video was due to ownership taking me to the kitchen to show the process and talk about the restaurant. All good brother!
@@SmokyMountainFamily I understand completely 🙏 Was the owner Geri or Harold, with a cowboy hat? I'm SHOCKED they let you in the kitchen ..They're from Brooklyn and No one went back there when I was there ...lol. 😜

Thanks for the video. Always love them. Any updates in Gatlinburg on the business being built where world of Illusions used to be? Jason Aldean rooftop bar?
Ive been to Gatlinburg once and I loved it…we ate at the Pancake Pantry & No Way Joes’s Cantina both were really good and both are a very short walk from the Aquarium
we are going to gatlingburg for the new year up to the 8th of january and are hoping for at least a touch of snow, my kids have never seen snow and are hoping to get something considered snow from the sky lol
My family goes to Gatlinburg every December, and for the past three years, my wife and 8 enjoy the seafood at the Chesapeakes restaurant in downtown Gatlinburg. We live in Savannah, Georgia, and let me tell you, the Chesapeakes is better than all of the seafood restaurants I've eaten at in all 9f Savannah, Georgia.
In our opinion, the only place appropriate for such an occasion would be the Greenbrier. It’s hands down the best place for a special occasion. Plus, and I’m not certain of this, but when you make a reservation let them know it’s for an anniversary. They may do something special. Thanks so much for watching!
@@SmokyMountainFamily Thank you. We have been coming to Gatlinburg for over 20 years, but have never been to the Greenbrier. I was thinking of there or Crystal Creek. Hopefully we may run into you all on our trip. Would love to say hello. Thanks again.
Our favorite is Cherokee Grill. We loved the food at Taste of Italy. Definitely authentic Italian fare, but I'll take the pizza at Best Italian over any in town. We also love the Brewery! We'd love to some day visit the Greenbrier since we've heard so many positive things about it. It's certainly a little pricey for us, but we wouldn't mind a nice evening dinner splurge during one of our visits in the future. Always nice seeing what the locals think, since we as tourists offer up our favorites every so often.
We ate at Crystelle Creek last week and loved it. The food and atmosphere are awesome. Also appears to be common to see bears while you dine. One passed behind the restaurant while we were there.
Spot on the Smoky Mountain Brewery this is always a must eat.👍😋 I wish we knew about the Taste of Italy 🇮🇹 , sometimes the strip mall restaurants are the best in my opinion 😏 Thanks for sharing 🤗
Nice! Sounds like I need to pay a bit more attention to 321. Funny thing is we always hit the grocery after checking in and have seen the Italian place. Definitely will be checking it out. 🤤
Good list, although I would have to say that my 2 visits to the Alamo were easily among the worst restaurant visits I've had in the 25 years I've been coming to the Smokies. Maybe because it was the one in Pigeon forge? Thanks for the tip for the Taste of Italy as well! Have been by many times and never thought to stop in.
I would love to know good places to live close to this area. Like is there a close by town that you all recommend to live in or is there places real close that are decent priced etc. We are retired and I want a place there so badly
I like all those places you put in there. I've become a big fan of Crawdaddys over the past few yrs. If I Stay for 5 nights Brewery and ceawdaddys are staples. Best Italian either Alamo or Cherokee and Mello mushroom. Lunch I like the blue moose Fannie farkles breakfast is log cabin or old dads
There used to be a family owned Italian place in the strip mall across from the grocery store on 321 where this restaurant is now that had the best pizza at good prices but I think the owners retired and it was gone for a long time. Glad to see a Italian place is now there again. We will have to give it a try when we are next in Gatlinburg.
A Taste of Italy is freak'n awesome. The owner is from NYC and very much an Italian mother. She's loud and talkative and in you face (but not in bad way, but a friendly way)...and LOVES people. The food was great when we went in 2017.
Agree with the list (haven't ate at 2 of them) but you are spot on as usual! Question....which best Italian restaurant are you talking about?? There are two, one is as aweful as the other one is fantastic!
@@TheGatlinburgHussey Yes! For years we heard how great the best Italian was but had only been able to endure two visits because it was basically a joke. Then we discovered the REAL Best Italian in elks plaza and found all the great reviews were true! It would be like discovering a 5 star steak house named "McDonald's" lol
Trish’s dinner excellent out side of Gatlinburg is excellent . Home cooking where the locals go. Best bbq the worst I’ve been to. Delauders bbq was good to along with mamas kitchen
Some of these are a joke! This is just his opinion. He must not of ever left Tennessee to try different foods. I find that a lot with people who rate restaurants here.
Excellent selection! My personal favorite is Crystelle Creek - love the lasagna and spaghetti. Better than Taste of Italy for those two dishes even if TOI has a wider selection of fab Italian dishes. Cherokee Grill is definitely tops. I've also enjoyed my one trip to the Greenbriar. I've also eaten at Joe and Pops -- was very busy that day but the food was good. I'm with you though -- Skip the Alamo; it is not the best Johnson restaurant. I prefer Big Daddy's Pizza and Bennett's amazing Pit BBQ.
We finally got to try ctystalle creek this past week when we were up there. We were going to Alamo but switched it up based on yall's recommendation. We enjoyed the atmosphere and seated immediately. We ordered and got our food fairly quickly. However, I would have to disagree with it being better than Alamo (steak wise). The seasoning was good but not enough to put it above Alamo. Also listing all steaks at maket price doesn't help. Would go back for sure to try other items just not solely for steaks. Thank yall for all you do and helping us discover new places to eat.
We thought it was great and then believe it or not we ate at burg steakhouse which was not great but the salad bar was the absolute best we have ever had.
The original Best Italian Restaurant was incredible. It was much smaller and ran by an old Italian couple that would argue in Italian while we ate! That was early 90`s??
My FAVORITE place for a steak is Howard's Steak House in Gatlinburg. i've been going there for many years. ALWAYS been satisfied with their steaks. I can't say enough good about it. Yes, I do love spaghetti at The Best Italian in Gatlinburg. Can't forget baby back ribs at Calhoun's in Gatlinburg. Smoky Mountain Trout House, pan fried rainbow trout. Huck Finn's catfish in Pidgeon Forge. Can't forget Joe's Crab shack Pigeon Forge or is it in Sevierville?
If this was 5 years ago Calhoun’s would have been at the top of our list! Living here though it has been pretty hit or Miss when we go. Still a favorite though
If you've never been you have to try a New Orleans Sandwich Company in Gatlinburg it is amazing five stars I think it'll become one of your favorites favorites
went to Gatlinburg last year and getting ready to go again next month do this peaked my interest. I've been to two of these places. Agree with one and disagree with the other. For the Taste of Italy, though i don't know if it is the best in Gatlinburg, it was phenomenal. All the food was really, really, good. Great service too. as for Joe and Pops, not so much. It wasn't bad, just average. Not sure what he is talking about with service because you order from a counter and they bring your food to the table. that's it. you get your own drink.
Hey thanks so much! In our experiences at JOE and Pops, both before and since we've had the channel they have always came around and made sure we've had everything we've needed on several occasions. The staff has always been super friendly on our trips. Thanks for watching.

Great selections. We also love log cabin for breakfast. Thanks so much for watching!
This is currently our favorite Italian spot. Thanks so much for watching.
A Taste of Italy is freak'n awesome. The owner is from NYC and very much an Italian mother. She's loud and talkative and in you face (but not in bad way, but a friendly way)...and LOVES people.
The food was great when we went in 2017.
I think they closed taste of italy unfortunately
We r going this year! I’m so excited!
Taste of Italy is fabulous
Agreed
Always have wanted to go to greenbriar. We will be up there on October 9-12
Hit us up when you do guys!!!
Will do!!
Don't forget to look for their ghost- Lydia.
Agree with the list (haven't ate at 2 of them) but you are spot on as usual! Question....which best Italian restaurant are you talking about?? There are two, one is as aweful as the other one is fantastic!
Which one are you referring to is awful? I'll guess the one on the parkway vs the other in elks plaza. Lol
Honest answer we didn’t like either. We have a review on the elks plaza one where we talk about it
Or u can go to the original best Italian elks plaza free parking and full service since 1976
We have done that before as well. Not our personal favorite either. Thanks so much for watching Daniel we appreciate you.
Eric, your narration is wonderful
Thank you Harold
Yeah lovin the family vibe...very different. You got a new subscriber. Now off to go watch your other videos. Great job! 😁

This was excellent! Thank you!
Thanks for watching Lauren
Trish’s dinner excellent out side of Gatlinburg is excellent . Home cooking where the locals go. Best bbq the worst I’ve been to. Delauders bbq was good to along with mamas kitchen
Can’t wait to try Trishs! It’s been on our list for a while. Thanks for watching Jeff we appreciate you
You had me (Subscribed!) at KY Wildcats. Go Cats! Thanks for the info. We'll be in Gatlinburg tomorrow for fall break!
C.A.T.S. CATS CATS CATS!!!!! Hope you enjoy your your trip!
Some of these are a joke! This is just his opinion. He must not of ever left Tennessee to try different foods. I find that a lot with people who rate restaurants here.
@@Laura-bp6ox thanks for watching Laura!!!
Not in Gatlinburg, but the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge is great country cooking.
We love the pottery house cafe it’s in our top 5 pigeon forge
Haven’t been to Greenbrier yet but agree with all your other choices.
Great list Fam! Love them all.
Thanks Steven ❤️
Can't go to Gatlinburg without Taste of Italy!!
Everything Autos send me. I like it. Thank you for doing the restaurant choices. It helps, for sure!
EA is awesome! Great people. Thanks so much for coming to check us out. Much appreciated!
Very nice would love to visit ❤
Thanks for watching Jason
Thank you love these top fives
Thank you they are fun to make
Excellent selection!
JT Hannah’s and Holstons are good choices also if in the Pigeon Forge area.
Can’t wait to get our pigeon forge list together it will be out soon
We finally got to try ctystalle creek this past week when we were up there. We were going to Alamo but switched it up based on yall's recommendation. We enjoyed the atmosphere and seated immediately. We ordered and got our food fairly quickly. However, I would have to disagree with it being better than Alamo (steak wise). The seasoning was good but not enough to put it above Alamo. Also listing all steaks at maket price doesn't help. Would go back for sure to try other items just not solely for steaks. Thank yall for all you do and helping us discover new places to eat.
Thanks Tony! We used to love Alamo the passed couple times we went had been a miss I guess it just depends on help. ❤️
we LOVE the PEDDLER, salad bar is salad HEAVEN
We thought it was great and then believe it or not we ate at burg steakhouse which was not great but the salad bar was the absolute best we have ever had.
The original Best Italian Restaurant was incredible. It was much smaller and ran by an old Italian couple that would argue in Italian while we ate! That was early 90`s??
That sounds awesome
Please help me understand, why didn't The Peddler Steakhouse make your list? What criteria was used which made The Peddler miss the cut?
We enjoyed the steak at both Greenbrier and Cherokee Grill over The Peddler and didn't want three steakhouses ion the list.
If you've never been you have to try a New Orleans Sandwich Company in Gatlinburg it is amazing five stars I think it'll become one of your favorites favorites
anyone been to the German restaurant over the cheese cupboard? Been going there since the 70's for their Reuben sandwiches.
We haven't. Need to get there tho. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Have you been to the New Orleans Sandwich shop? Very good.
We haven’t but we have heard great things, we need to give it a try thanks Steve
went to Gatlinburg last year and getting ready to go again next month do this peaked my interest.
I can’t think of five, but I really like Crystelle Creek, Mellow Mushroom and Crokett’s Breakfast Camp
We will be doing a top 5 breakfast one in the future for sure
