you could also make the back of the drawer tall enough that it hits the rail when pulled all the way forward. the taller back prevents the drawer from being accidentally pulled out but you can still get the drawer out when you want to by lifting up the front of the drawer until the back slides out from under the rail.
Good idea!
I don't like them, that's why all kitchens don't have them.

Great video mate, love the tracks and stop block
Thanks Bud
Great video, thank you
Glad you liked it!
Great tutorial & cost effective ideas! Thank you!! A couple questions…do you think that the air intake filter is sufficient, considering there is no fan outside to push air into the booth? Also, if the exhaust fan is pushing the spray booth air out into the garage, how is the air intake supplied with clean/fresh air? Wouldn’t all of the contaminated air just be recirculating through the garage and back into the spray booth? Or are the filters enough to combat that? Thank you so much for any thoughts/suggestions on this!
Glad you liked it. The filters did a great job of cleaning the air coming into the spray booth and exiting. The air flow was good too based on the plastic not showing movement.
WRONG: Friction will generate heat and the drawers will catch fire during the night when you sleep.
Question: the piece of wood that you cut for your saw channel was longer than the bolt slots on both ends. Should those be cut out for the bolts to slide end to end?
They don’t need to be cut out. The bolt head can slide end to end because of the slot that was cut for the head. The head is basically recessed in the main board.
Great video. I liked your attention to detail.
I appreciate that!
Do you think you'll ever sell these on ebay or etsy? I love this but i don't think i could execute it well. I don't have the skills or the tools, lol.
I don’t have any plans on producing these for retail. Sorry.
At 4:53 id love to better what you mean by offset. Maybe show what you did and what you'd do different?
By shinning the flash light through the holes, you are able to see them intersect. This caused the dowels to hit each other and the joint would not close up. By using an “offset and drilling each side in a different location it avoids them intersecting.
I was looking for this type of tutorial all over RUclips and finally found your video! Thank you!!
I’m glad you found it helpful!
whats a good, cheap wood, to get started making some simple furniture? I like pine, even the color and to some extent the figuring. is that a good choice?
Depends what you are building. Pine is soft wood and can dent easily. Poplar is easy to work with but the color can vary. It is great to use if you are painting it. Next I would move up to the oak family. Red oak is affordable but can be grainy and hard to sand. White oak is a bit nicer to work with and finish.
But I dont have a router table.. Come to think of it I dont have a table saw... Oh-well back to the handheld
For the sled I use 1/2" MDF with laminate on both sides. That provides a low friction wear surface for both router-sled and sled-rails without further effort. The router-sled ways see far more wear than the sled-rails ways so if heavy use is anticipated lower friction (and replaceable) router-sled ways can be had via a UHMW poly tape strip on both sides of the sled bowl. Even 1/4 MDF will work fine as the router base loads the sled only at the extremes of the inside sled bottom (and where the optional UHMW tape is located) given a tight router base to sled wall clearance. Rather than futz with cutting the sled slot separately, just use the router and surfacing bit to clear it. Can't tell from the video but a stop cleat on each of the sled bottom short sides assures the sled doesn't slip off the rails during use with regrettable results.
Why no comments?? I think it's great! New subscriber hear... I'm also new to wood working.
Thanks! Welcome to woodworking!
Excellent video. Forgive me if others have pointed this out and you've already fixed it, but you have no treble at all in your audio. It is as though your microphone has a blanket over it. You may need an audio gear upgrade, or it may be a setting that is incorrectly adjusted in software. Best wishes. (Edit: I think it's the microphone. You're using a lapel mic which may not be up to the job. There is also some tell-tale distortion from overloading the mic.)
Thanks for the feedback! I have since upgraded my microphone.
Great, simple, clear and ideas conveyed concisely and easily understood. Thanks for the ideas on the spray booth and sharing your experiences of what to do and what issues can arise during the painting process/
Thanks! I appreciate that!
Nice! I very much like it. Thinking outside of the box here a little, if I were to make this, I might consider a pivoting fence on the left-hand side. T-tracks are still very much useful for holding stock or other jigs too.
Cool idea!
I bought plans from WoodPrix and I made it very fast.
Wood slides and metal slides definitely have their place. In a kitchen where the drawers get heavy use I’m going with metal slides. A bedside table I’m going with wood. The wood slides really have class.
This is exactly what I need. I’m going to give it a try. Hopefully I can get close to doing as good of a job as you did. Great job
Thanks! You can do it! Good luck.
Good morning 🌅, very nice job, I live France, but I am from the uk, I am hoping to build a flatting jig, as cheap as possible, it is nearly as cheap to buy linear rails and build a very good flatten jig, as plywood over in Europe is very very expensive, great job, from France
Thanks! Good luck!
This is how I do bigger slabs. It works well but man, does it get messy real quick. Cheers.
No doubt! It certainly can make a mess but I feel so accomplished after cleaning it up. LOL
Millimetres. By by
Why! What is wrong with your saw that you would not just ajust your angle on the tool?
Thank you so much for this video. I will be watching them all.
Obviously people would sacrifice to be more comfort, more easy and less hustle. Using a ready made drawer slider much more smoother😂
I had to watch the video five different times before I could figure out things that you were doing better camera shots and better explanation would be a plus I think I figured everything out except for the two pieces you said not to glue down. I don’t understand what that was about, you said not to glue them and the next picture your showing how well the drawer slides and it’s the end of the video. 🤷🏻♂️
I appreciate the feedback! I was referring to the thin strips that I screwed down on the runners. They were the darker wood pieces that ensure the drawer slides in without racking. If you were to glue them down the drawer could become tight if the runners expand due to changing humidity. Feel free to DM/email me if I can of further assistance at BudsWSIN@gmail.com
I’ve been designing a kayak storage cart and I was trying to figure out how to make a drop down shelf. I think I’ll try this method but maybe 10-12 ft long for rod storage above the top kayak but right below the top shelf!
That sounds awesome! Good luck!
Love that design! I've been puzzling this issue for days: designing an under the cabinet spice rack that I can build, myself. Your design is perfect, but I don't have the power tools and will have to chisel the grooves by hand.
You can do it! Good luck.
Thank you for taking the time to share your obvious knowledge. I inherited some woodworking tools from my father. One is a Rigid Radial arm saw, which is in need of a new top. The other is a craftsman router table. I will definately be building this top first, but my question is what is the best working height for a router table. I have to build a pedestal for it to sit on, and can't find any information regarding that.
Awesome! I have never heard an exact working height for router tables. It really comes down to what height is comfortable to you. I recommend making it the same as your table saw or RAS. Mine is built into the top of my miter station. Good luck!

Very good idea. I hate dealing with sliders.
HELP!!! Hey Bob, yes im a newbie lol. But frickin awesome video and idea. I cant understand what the 7×40 is for and how the top parts made. LOL, Yes im in middle of building me one of these awesome top. If you have a blueprint it would help me greatly. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Oh my name is Mark. Thank you....
Hey Mark! I don’t have plans but if you email me at BudsWSIN@gmail.com I can send you more detailed pictures. The 7x40 section goes behind the fence. Cheers! Bud
I've been into woodworking for 6 years and I'm confused. I believe there might be some related ideas in the video, but they must be better organized and delivered to us the viewers.
Thanks for the feedback!
Im very confused
Sorry to hear that. Feel free to DM/email me at BudsWSIN@gmail.com if I can be of further assistance.
how do you set the stop on the drill bit so you drill the right size hole? on each test piece i did it was alway to short
I put the bit through the jig so it is protruding the appropriate depth and mark the bit with a sharpie so I know where to place the drill stop.
Very professional woodwork👍.I like it. I m a little lazy to go too complicated, I just use plywood sanded and rub candle on, works for me. Thanks for sharing❤
Great advice!
Sir,This is ingenious!Thanks for sharing.

Excellent. Thanks!
Super cool
thanks for the video. There is a lot of potential for dumb mistakes. I'd rather learn from seasoned woodworkers than learn the hard way !!!!
Killer top. Would love to see a video on using the electronic portion of the saw. I recently upgraded to an electronic version but no manual and no idea how to us. Thanks
That's a great solution~! I'm about to start building a miter saw station and the price of slides is mind-blowing. I'll be looking at this method as the alternative. Thanks for sharing it~!!
