Yes it is! I'm looking into getting a new bike after not riding for 15 years now that he's showing so much passion for it haha. He's about to turn 7, got him a crf50 for an early present and he's been riding everyday since. He's coming off of an electric bike.

Alot! The owner shopped around when he first got it, and one quote was over $12k a year. I think he got it down to $3k a year, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

44k miles on the original chain and sprocket?! That's amazing. You'll do fine with the gasket swap. Good call on replacing the spark plug seals. It'll be an optimal time to replace the plugs as well, if you aren't already planning on that.

The NT1100 is not available in the US, so I haven't had any chance to see or ride it. I'd feel bad making a comparison without direct experience with it.

I keep getting coaxed to go back to the track and none of my bikes are really suited for track use- a 750 may be in my future. Philly is a great city! I haven't been there since the X-Games in 01.

I couldn't imagine a more hooligan bike than the Z900- but if you want a "squid missile" the GSXR750 is a solid choice :D

On the side of the engine there is a small glass window. With the bike held upright (not on the side stand) you can see the level of oil in the window. The oil should be between the two lines.

As an inline 4, you're right. Honda and BMW have a 750, just not as supersports.

I wish I had a long term test to share on them, but unfortunately my buddy was hit by a truck on this bike. He's relatively OK but the bike is totaled. After the install of the clutch he rode a few thousand miles with no issues. I am typically a fan of OEM clutches or EBC

Sounds like you need to fish in some tournaments and win some spending money to fuel your addict...I mean hobby

Sometimes nostalgia gets the better of us and we buy things that we shouldn't. In the case of rebuying a loved motorcycle or one that has special meaning- yes, absolutely do it. I sold a 2003 Z1000 7 years ago and I regretted it immensely. If you've seen some of my more recent videos, you will see I rebought the same one. I'll never let it go now. If you have the ability to spend the money I doubt you'd regret buying the new one. Ride safe!

I'd be curious on that too- I'm thinking 1-2 hours plus supplies and fees for coolant disposal. I started working on my bikes as a way to keep costs down when I was a kid. Service manuals are far cheaper than service shops :)

That's most likely the shift drum or shift forks. That requires a lot more teardown than this, unfortunately.

@@ethxntgg1971 The hard to shift in to gear may be the shift forks, yeah. But the riding rough may be something else depending on what you mean.

The number 75 mm came from the service manual. The tool is called a fork oil level tool and measures the distance from the top of the tube to the oil level.

Imagine riding with a filter like this!

@@tacobassmike9757 If you have the option to go on a week day, that's when it's least busy. If you go on a weekend, don't be in a hurry. Things typically start clearing out in the afternoon when the early guys start getting tired and heading home. Middle of the day will be the busiest. Also look it up on Google Maps, google will put a chart showing how busy it typically is for each day and time. They get that by tracking peoples phones.

Thanks, I switch between mic set ups and I am not 100% sure, but for this video I think I was running a basic TRS lapel mic with a dead cat cover. I was for sure using my GoPro Hero 10 with a Media Mod. I have the GoPro on a Dango Designs chin mount and hold the mic in place with the mount so it's just next to my mouth. You're the 3rd person this week to ask about my set up, so I think it's time for me to do an updated video on what equipment I run 😉
