I buy my own puzzles. Strange challenge...I want to say many puzzlers live where we dont have puzzles in shops around here. I ordered all mine online. So nobody is thinking about giving me puzzles. To complicated.

I don't have any gifted puzzles. I don't talk about it much because my friends and family aren't interested in puzzles themselves. I have posted on social media about my puzzles and a few aquaintenances respond, but we don't exchange gifts. It's still a great challenge to do/offer.

Four gifted total, but only three of them by your definition. One of my friends gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday, and I bought a puzzle with it, so I guess I can't count that by your definition, but I may do it anyhow.

Well, darn. I just recently started puzzling and have been buying all my puzzles from thrift stores. I helped organize a puzzle swap last month, and someone did give me an extra puzzle, but I just completed it. So I can't participate by puzzling with you all. I'll have to look in my small stash and see if I have anything appropriate to give to someone I know. Thanks for organizing this!

That's an interesting idea Sandra. Not one that I can join as I buy all my jigsaws. I did have three given to me as gifts but some years ago, so no longer in my possession. One of those was the Lego Minifigure Faces one, that was a nightmare to do! Looking forward to hearing how you got on at Worlds.

Great idea! I can only think of one puzzle I've received as a gift at this point. It's a very appropriate image for this time of the year though: Jack Skellington and friends. 😁

I want to participate but I can’t because I buy my puzzles. Since I have so many I tell my friends not to give me more. I have gifted many puzzles and donated too. Keep the puzzle challenges coming. I do truly enjoy them.

Just checked. I have 14 gifted puzzles in my stash. Certainly be able to get one (or more) done in the coming month.

Sweet a library for puzzles

Thanks for the advice! My partner and I were introduced into speed puzzling from a nice RUclips video last year and as casual puzzlers we were immediately intrigued-- we decided to buy a few puzzles, practice at home and sign up for Worlds in pairs (since there are no qualifications and we live in Spain) for our first ever competition attempt haha...watching this a few hours before we start our first ever try. :D

I just completed a puzzle by the New York Puzzle Company, The New Yorker - Hip Hops, cover by Peter de Sève. Love the image, but hate the quality. There is absolutely no grip between the pieces, not even two pieces would stay together. I put this brand on my Do Not Buy list.

Great tips, Sandra! I watched the first video you did about tips for speed puzzling and loved it as well. I will try doing a speed puzzling competition online. My goal is to do the USA speed puzzling competition with a friend one day soon 😊🧩

I love the artwork of the puzzle I’m working on right now. I’d love to hang it on my wall when I’m done. Can you please explain how you were able to hang your puzzles on the wall? Thank you.

I personally can't do sm, especially the ones you mention, as it can be very unhealthy mentally. But i also can't do video calls, as i have dysmorphia, and have never gotten a response from the CJPA in regards to questions i had about what they would accept in terms of video setups. What i can do is in person competitions. My team regularly does a monthly competition, and bi-weekly (sometimes more frequent, depending who can make what) competitions at nerdy cafes in our area. We aren't the best, nor the worst, but we are steadily getting better. I try to practice on my own, or friends and i get together, but i find it very hard to have that same motivation and push to beat the clock when im not actually in a competitive event. It's like, im not puzzling casually, im faster than when i take my time, but i also can't seem to find the oomph to do it so that i would consider it decent training. Though, gotta try and get better. Have my first pairs even in October! Have fun in Spain!
