WOOHOOO!!! You did great! Thanks so much for joining in the fun. I find that I also compare myself to others when I should really just focus on my own journey, and realise that at some point, I will peak and stop improving - and that's okay. As long as I am having fun, that's what truly matters! 😍😍

Speed puzzling takes the fun out of puzzling. I enjoy puzzling at a relaxed pace while listening to an audio book.

I completely understand your point of view. Speed puzzling is definitely not relaxing but the fun part for me is the challenge. Thanks for sharing.

Sandra, so glad you were able to do the puzzle and thank you for your honesty. I am part of the slow puzzlers club 😊 and just take my time and enjoy the process.

Sandra, it was a great decision you did “The Blue Car” puzzle. I did mine, Monday right after BOTYP and my time was 4 hours and 15 minutes. I am not a speed puzzler but I did it. I am happy with my time. It takes courage to do what is out of the ordinary for you. Your time is Amazing. Under 2 hours and you just started speed puzzling last year. I think that when puzzlers take the route of speed puzzling they try to beat their own personal time. The blue car was tough for me to do as well, the green part and the railings and white staircase were the easiest parts of the puzzle for me. The pink part was tricky for me but because it had light shades of pink I could tackle it at the end.

A lot of wisdom in that quote, and it definitely rings true, especially in this age if social media. Great job completing this puzzle, and ahead of your predicted time too. I did this puzzle as well and found it very hard! Unbelievable how some people have really flown through it.

I love that you shared this with us! I really enjoy your videos, and I think this one shows your strength of character in addition to your strength as a puzzler. Happy puzzling!

I appreciate seeing others who enjoy speed puzzling, but are not at the “elite” level. I will likely never do a 500 piece puzzle in under an hour, but I aim for 1.5-2 hours for an easy/average puzzle. I don’t always make it, but I did get this one done in about 1:42. Thanks for sharing!

Congrats! That's a great time. I too would like to reach that 90 minute goal for a 500 piece puzzle.

I did this challenge! I started to practice speed puzzling this year and earlier this year signed up for the WJPC in Spain.
I also thought going into this I’m not going to be as fast as the others so I’ll just put my time as 0000. And then I thought, what the hell, I’ll document my time whatever it turns out to be.
Well I got 2:03 (even though it felt like I was going really fast) and you know what I’m proud to have that time. I probably will be the last one listed for speed time but at least I’ll stick out like a sore thumb than be overlooked lol.

Well done with that time. We are definitely at the same level for speed puzzling so I know how you feel. I too have registered for Worlds this year. I'm a little nervous yet looking foward to it.

@@thepuzzlingcanadian Thank you, I did it, it wasn't as hard as thought, but still difficult my time was 01h 32m, I would have placed 44 (at the 90m mark I had 21 pieces unassembled) .
I really happy that I actually tried and finished in the middle of the pack

Well done Sandra, that is a very good time! 😍 I'm so happy that you decided to do this puzzle, because what if only super fast people posted their times? It would be so discouraging! 🥺 The speed puzzling community thrives when we can see ALL KINDS OF times and then it's also easier to concentrate on own goals. ❤️🙂

I did it in a little over 2 hours ans had exactly the same response to those blue pieces... couldn't make sense of them! Started with the road and the edge, then the tires, then the green railing. Had a handful of false fits but it was fun!

Hey, I could not agree with you more. If you are determined to improve at speed puzzling, then you should only be comparing times to your own previous attempts. I thought very briefly about trying this one, but I bought it back in 2020 and then swapped it after completing it. The thought of buying the same puzzle twice just felt strange. Plus January/February is just so busy with work, spending my downtime stressing myself didn't make sense to me. PS I love your sweater!!

There were two options for this puzzle. You could speed run it or work it for fun and just put double zero in the time. I honestly don't think anyone would laugh at you no matter what your time. I wanted to try it but couldn't get a copy.

I'm so glad you had the common sense to stop comparing yourself to other puzzlers. 🙂 Considering that you started speed puzzling during the last year you are doing very well indeed. 👍I did this puzzle and it took me 1 hour 53 mins and 1 sec. Your time was therefore better than mine. Today I finished the Lupins puzzle and that took me 5 hrs 7 mins and 20 secs. My times for puzzles vary considerably depending on what the image is and I don't time myself for every one I do. Speed puzzling isn't something that holds any great interest for me. I do the BOTYP just for fun. 🧩

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I haven't done that Lupin puzzle but I'm sure it would take me about 4-5 hours also.
