I just completed this puzzle. It was an interesting experience, my first time timing myself and trying not to take too long. It’s weird how stressed it makes you feel.
Well done on your first speed run! 👏🏻👏🏻 Speed puzzling is not for everyone, but it does get better! 😁 I think you should try to speed run one puzzle, that you have no times to compare yourself to, and it will make it less stressful. This time you knew, that your times will get marked and published, which doesn't help with the stress 😬 You might also realise, that speed puzzling is not enjoyable for you, which is completely fine - there are many people who don't find speed puzzling as fun as doing it leisurely 😉 But really well done again, for doing it and stepping out of your comfort zone! 😁👏🏻
Hooray! So happy that the BOTYP is back! You did a great job choosing this puzzle. It looks really fun. I hope lots of folks are able to get it and join in. Congrats on your time! All of you did so well with your solves. Thanks for organizing this fun event!!

I know!! I was quite confident, that we will all start with the blue car! I was WRONG!! 😂😅 Thank you!! 🤗
Except for the fact that you sorted and I did a pure flip, our approaches were completely identical. The building order (blue, grey, green, pink, and the windows somewhere inbetween) and the shape sorting in the end. Great time! I am surprised that it is "only" your 3rd sub-XX-time (edit: spoiler removed :-). I thought you had many, many more...
I think we picked the best technique! 🤣🤪 I think I would do better without sorting it though! I takes so much time 😅

I’ve got mine ready to do but going to leave it until the week before as I got a wrist injury playing tennis! I know it’s only for fun but I’d still rather have both hands free to give it a good go!

Given how difficult the pink section is, one strategy would be to subsort the pink pieces in the initial sort. It looks like you had to resort them near the end.
I agree with you! But I didn't realise how much detail there was on the puzzle, until later on, when I only had pink pieces left 😅 I redid the puzzle, and improved my time by 8 minutes, just because I knew about all the details in the pink section! 😁👌🏻

Well done 👏 I think you could have been even faster if you had better light. That’s why I’ve still not done it, the only sunny day my husband got sick and I hate it when I don’t have nice light.
Thank you! 🤗 Light is very important yes! But I had overcast for the entire week, and I couldn't wait for a sunny day 😅 So yes, I definitely agree with you - wait for a nice sunny day, because it will really help with the gradient in the pink section! 😉
