    Thats the kind of swap for me. I went to one and it was a free-for-all. I went with over 50 and didn't come home with a fraction of it- deff turned me off puzzle swaps.

      Oh my! That is a terrible experience. I don't blame you for being turned off to swap meets. Hopefully you find one that is much better organized.

    What a wonderful event. I did see a couple of puzzles I'd have tried to get in the swap but I couldn't tell you exactly which ones. 😊

    Our trades are so different. I think I would be too shy to do it your way. I like the anonymity. But you got some great puzzles.

      Thanks. After you've been to a few of these swaps, you get to know the regulars. It's a nice way to meet new people.

    The 1000 piece Ravensburger Happy Halloween puzzle looks fun. The same artist (Demelsa Haughton) also did the 500 piece Ravensburger Rabbit Recital which I absolutely loved. (You talked about this puzzle in your "October Puzzle Pulse: Speed Puzzling, Selling and Seasonal Puzzles" video). It may be slightly more difficult due to the busyness (very complex image with lots of objects).

      I enjoyed the Happy Halloween. I have two more in my puzzle from Demelsa Haughton. Her images are beautiful.

    Thx so much for showing how puzzle swaps work! ❤ They have them in the Ottawa area, but I have yet to go to one...
    I think I saw a couple of puzzles I would have liked to have swapped for. One of the brands, I already have two of their puzzles and that's Indigenous Collection by CAP. The artwork is so beautiful, although there are two artists in particular that I gravitate toward - I tend to like less busy puzzles.
    The other brand is one that I haven't tried yet, but again, some of the artwork (by particular artists!) looks amazing and that is Masterpieces. At least, I think it was a Masterpieces puzzle. It went by a little quickly, but I don't blame you. The temps have dropped ridiculously for April, I think 😟🥶
    ❤❤❤

    You got some great puzzles!!!! That's a nice way to trade. We have trades here but a little differently. We bring our puzzles in, put them in piece order and then we do a sort of bingo. You wait for your number to be called and then you go up and pick a puzzle you want. We do 4 or 5 rounds of this and then it's open season on what's left. It seems to work pretty well. and u can post your puzzles if you want to trade privately

    Did you end up swapping that Wasgij puzzle? My wife and I love doing those!

    • @thepuzzlingcanadian
      @thepuzzlingcanadian  5 месяцев назад +2

      Their was one person who was interested in the Wasgij. I went to her table but did not see anything of interest and I didn't want to pick something out just for the sake of getting a puzzle. I have too many in my to do pile already. So, I decided to gift her the puzzle with no puzzle required in return. I was happy to know that someone who loves Wasgij would enjoy this puzzle.

    Ooh that looks like fun! I wish there was a swap in my area….i wonder how to go about starting one….I don’t really understand the rules you guys have…seems like someone would have to be in charge of the whole thing and walk people through it in case there were disputes…really interesting idea

    • @thepuzzlingcanadian
      @thepuzzlingcanadian  5 месяцев назад +2

      This swap was organized through a Facebook group, so the best thing to get started is to create a Facebook group for area, if there is not one already. Then you can organize a swap and posted in that Facebook group.
      In regards to this puzzling group, there is one person who organizes the swap meets and then communicates that in the Facebook group. How the swap is operated is also communicated through the Facebook group. Because they use the post it note method there are not really any disputes. I take one of my puzzles and see who is interested in it. Then go to their table and see if I wrote my name on any of their puzzles. If not, then I usually pick another name on that post it note. It runs pretty smoothly and most puzzlers at the swap are regulars, so they know the drill.

      @@thepuzzlingcanadian ooooh! Ok you go and see if there’s something you already liked on their table…Ok that makes a sense now! I was thinking a puzzle swap was like a yarn swap I’ve done before, there is a pot of yarn to begin and people give one and take one but your post it method encourages socialization too which is nice. Thanks for explaining!

    What a nice puzzle swap event at the park! I like the first puzzle you showed us in the video and the vintage tea pot one. I have done the “Clothing Emporium” puzzle. It was a lot of fun to put together. The small banners on top of the store were the main tricky part of the puzzle but the quality of the pieces is top notch.

    Great concept, need to find out if there is a swap in my area. I saw many puzzles that I would like to have, and one or two that were frustrating to me and do not want to see them again …lol. Thanks for the video!
