Update: Per the manufacturer only the XLR has the phantom power and not the TRS option. So if guitars are plugged using the TRS and also a mic or say a synth using 4 & 5 then you shouldn't damage the TRS connected gear. Maybe confirm with a meter. Don't use combo XLR to TRS cables to any gear be safe.

So for example I have one mic that needs phantom power and nothing else does. If I turn it on I will damage my other gear that is connected? So the 6 mic/lines are useless unless PP on or off but no combinations? Makes no sense so (2) guitars are plugged in and a synth and only one mic needs PP I can't use the mixer? What if it's accidently turned on? No where in the manual does it tell you whether phantom power is applied to the TRS vs XLR which is stupid that a manufacturer can't tell you that critical information. On-line info suggests that typically phantom power is not applied to the TRS of the combo jack that could fry your in-line gear. The manual only states or calls these jacks a "Mic/Line" jack which is generic for combo jack but nothing about whether the TRS is phantom powered. The only way to determine would be to put a meter on a test TRS cable with the PP on.

Excellent video. At least now I know to make this change when I get my Rodecaster Duo delivered soon. I returned my Mackie DLZ Creator XS due to the incompatibility with Linux. Sure, Rode does not officially support Linux, but I've heard good things about getting the Rodecaster to work in Linux. And yeah, I don't have a need for loopback in my Linux machine. I can setup virtual sound sources through software and I don't get any latency at all as long as everything is done in software.

Finally someone who understands Automix and doesn't think it's a noise gate, lol. Wow I can't believe the priority affects a mic even if it's the only one talking. That's not good. Hope it has been fixed in a software/firmware update!

You don’t lose Eye Tracking on the ZV E10 if you disable write on sd card, what you usually not need if you use a capture card 😊

It’s be amazing to click headphones 1 dial to shortcut me straight to the submixes for headphones 1. Then I could quickly update my own volume without touching the main out.

I work in radio and I'm thinking about buying the Roadcaster 2 Pro but I needed to know if it does this. imagine: I'm live to 2 radios (2 computers) the sound doesn't clash live and I have 1 or 2 microphones that allow me to speak whenever I want to speak to the broadcast on air on computer 1 and the same for computer 1. that is, on the roadcaster it would be micro, usb pc1 micro usb pc2. My friend, I'm a fellow RUclipsr who's been desperate to figure out how to connect my studio monitors to my Rode while being able to use a Mic simultaneously, without getting feedback - after MONTHS of trying to figure this stuff out and countless tutorials - your video FINALLY solved it for me. Not only does this resolve my mic/speaker issue, but it allows me to have a dual-desk setup that's exactly how I originally wanted it, without compromise. Regarding the section about the 1/8inch not a TRRS input, does it mean that use the USB to connect to phones for 2 way audio (I see everywhere only saying that usb is for connecting to computers)

What about the differences in preamps and does the Tascam need a cloudlifter ?

QUALITY 100%!

One thing to note: the NT-USB mini picks up a lot of echo because it's designed for a controlled environment, while the VideoMic Go II picks up fewer frequencies from the environment, focusing on the point where it's aimed. The frequencies projected by lip movement and salivation will be much more important. On the other hand, without such a controlled environment, the first microphone can be inconvenient because of its exaggerated bass. In that sense, I opted for the VideoMic Go II, since it allows you to save a lot of money on acoustic conditioning if you're just starting out, as well as allowing portability, placing it out of the shotgun, among other things. I don't really know how their internal workings work, I assume they have a built-in audio card that equalizes their sound sources and in the meantime serves to transform the audio to decent digital quality. The truth is that I got used to, video after video, having better feelings with shotgun microphones than with studio or podcast microphones. What do you think?

Just new to the things and wanted to know, if the VideoMic Go 2 might be a good voice microphone on your desk to the side or on top of your monitor (on a boom). I dont like to have a microphone directly in my face but a 45° angle and 20-30cm away from my mouth would not interfere that much with my view and mouse arm. What would be a setup and would this be an option or should I go with a dynamic mic of to the side. I am wondering, if the rode or a dynamic mic would pick up more? The rode seems sensitive and probably cannot get it out of the keyboard direction. Sorry, but its not for the best streamer setup specifically, but for having a good solution for discord/teamspeak and perhaps some recordings. I am torn: I use a headphone....and went with lav mic before and I dont know if stepping up the game with such a thing would be practical. I dont want it in my view, I dont want it to pick up crazy amounts of keyboard sound. I heard of this here, I heard of dynamics (some cheap fifine options dont sound that bad) and I heard about unidirectional laveliers? Anyone has a tipp? Shouldnt be much more than a 100-150€ solution tbh.

That playback mode is a feature I think. That gives you another option for a playback channel, leaving you with multiple playback channels. The RCP cannot do that.
