Hey, do you know if its possible to split audio on rodecaster pro 2 to record separate discord game sounds mic and let’s say music like on GoXLr? This is something I am missing and would be really handy to have as a feature. Thanks I’m advance for answering
Yep, it is in Beta. It was in the 1.2.0 beta release, now the 1.2.1 beta also came out with bug fixes. You can check the release notes here: update.rode.com/notes/rcp2/ Rode has a short video about how to switch to beta if you want this feature now. (It worked for me with the Wireless Go II btw)
It is definitely OK to keep it - it does have its place amongst the top 3. It certainly isn’t as flexible as the RCP2 or Duo and it does not have autogain or automix like the Mackie DLZ, but what it does, it does well and reliable and actually at some points it even works better than the others (see my video comparing the mixcast 4 cs the RCP2). If it serves your workflow well and you are not limited by it, just hold on to it.
No. The RCP2, as it tuns out, has wireless receiver built in, so now what you can do is to connect the wireless transmitter of either the Wireless GO II or the Wireless ME directly to one of the existing mic channels. They are not additional channels, but rather you can select for the existing mic channels if you want to use the XLR/Line combo inputs for them or their wireless receiver capability. They also don’t use bluetooth. Where you do get an additional channel is on the Rødecaster Duo, as the TRRS headset port got its own extra channel.
@@PodcastMeister also, any way i can use the rodcaster pro ll (4inputs) + rodecaster duo for guests on podcast recording? meaning i would have 6 people on set. what do you advise if i have 6 people on set and i want to achieve the best sound quality like the rodecaster pro or the mixcast?
@@sufikhal for now the Zoom Podtrak P8 or L8. Currently you cannot daisy chain two Rødecasters. You may of course record to both devices separately, it only becomes an issue if you want to - also record remote guests (as whichever device you record them to, the people recorded to the other device will not hear them - or if you want to use advanced routing, like talkback channels (=Back channel) as you can only include people to the talkback who are recorded on the device you set up talkback on - same applies to sound effects, only those will hear them, who are recorded on the device you triggered them on In the future I suspect that the Ethernet port will at some point be enabled to transfer audio and hence connect two (or more) RCP’s, but today it’s not the case.
Hi, do you mean transmitters? I know that you can add two transmitters to 2 different mic channels to the RCP2, but since I only have 2 transmitters (Wireless GO II), I could not test if tou can add more transmitters to the remaining mic channels.
Great video, the streamer x is a very intriguing bit of kit. If it’s a way to have a xlr mic and unify it could mean me ditching the rcp2 for my stream
Hi, thank you for your videos. I own RCP2 unfortunately there are constant problems with the product but what I am waiting for is what Rode promised a few months ago and that is Unify integration for RCP2 and still nothing. As a streamer I need things other than a podcaster or broadcaster to split the audio into individual faders like goxlr has. Hopefully I'll get around to it :)
Sadly the charging case is worse than the hceaper alternatives since it has nothing to store the cables, dead cats, ... And the streamer x is a nice product, but way overpriced imho. For that money I can get a stream deck, capute card and audio deck.
Great video! Editing always next level 💯💯💯
Great analysis, PM! Fyi, I just looked up the backpack here in Canada, and it's only available for pre-order.

You know what you're talking about giving lots of important information... Thank you for that!!! Take Care!
are there so many camera push and pulls? I'm also not connecting the push to a point that needs to be emphasized.
Thanks for the feedback, after editing for hours I may not realize any more that I’m possibly overdoing some effects. Good to know!
I can not find the Wireless mics in my setup. It would REALLY come handy now. What would be the latest firmware? or is this the beta?

Thanks great video so are you saying tascam mixcast 4 is dead or is it ok to keep the tascam mixcast 4

so the rodecaster pro ll can have additional 2 more wireless mics connecting via the bluetooth?

Do those Rode wireless mics allow you to add on additional receivers for more people being interviewed?

You sound great on that 5th gen RODE NT1! Excellent video!
Thanks for the feedback Hank! 👍 Just tried the sound again in the actual NT1 review (kinda-sorta) 🤣

If you don’t mind software-based mixing, it would surely be a great setup!
@@PodcastMeister it would be a fair compromise until the rcp2 had unify integration
Great video and so well analyzed newest products, but also the Røde's phylosophy behind it all.

OMG, I am so glad you told me the TRRS port is not for phones because I was about to ditch my spare RCII for that port back. Man oh man! Sigh.
I agree this was very disappointing
