Don't Join The Military If You Don't Like The President?!
im looking for info on going from enlisted mp to officer and cant find much info on the proccess or if thats even a viable career goal.do you have any information?
If you mean going from enlisted navy master at arms to an officer, it's covered in the ranks video.
My granddaughter is in boot camp. She was assigned E3 when she joined. I assume after boot camp she is given this “rank”. Can you explain the rankings??
The difference between E-1, E-2, and E-3 is only pay. There's no difference of responsibility. That starts at E-4 and especially E-5.I wish her the best!
They declined me 3 times. 😂but im happy I didn’t go at 28. I change my mind too much😅
Hey MA3 Beck, I made a new discord account, if you could post a new link that would be great. Thanks!
Your not allowed to talk at all?
No, you shouldn't. Towards the end of boot camp it might loosen up a bit but the rest, especially the first few weeks, heck no.
@HaedenBeck I see , that now makes sense
My friend went AWOL after reporting to his command. Its not for everyone
What does Dont Tread on Me mean?
Basically a 1700s way of saying don't F with me. Lol.
@@HaedenBeck lol
I wish I would have had this resource as a new Sailor to understand the military breakdown. Great job on provided detailed and accurate descriptions better than any PS working in ADMIN I ever knew !!! No doubt in my mind if chose the Navy as a career you would be a Chief or an Officer very quickly. With respect and admiration, GMC(SW/EXW/PJ) USN, Retired
Thank you Chief! Means a lot!
We had a dude that ate the PB&J sandwiches and got so stopped up his pancreas ruptured after not having a bowel movement for three weeks . True story! RTC Great Lakes (1988).
Pack dildos. A lot of them. And hormone blockers from the look of you and your channel. Absolute fucking joke what our military has become.
Does MA deploy a lot? What they do at deployment?
You're sent to a command and then perform daily tasks at that command. Unless you're expeditionary, then you have like a base but deploy now and then. On a ship, you're attached to the ship and deploy with the ship of course. The role you play at each command can be completely different. Could be checking IDs, working with dogs, driving harbor boats, a lot of it can be boring some of it can be really cool. I'd recommend it, glad I'm an MA and not anything else.
Would I be able to bring my vape in? I'm 18 so I wouldn't be able to buy one in a school I'm hopefully gonna ship out end of December
No vapes or smoking, chewing, any of that unfortunately. Some people quit smoking entirely after boot camp, some picked it up again after graduation. Either way, you can't do any of it during training.
@@HaedenBeck oh so it wouldn't be put in the box so we can get it back after boot camp?
@@KIWIkyle-wm4ok I think there's a substantial chance it's just thrown away but if not then yeah you'd just get it back at the end in the ditty box.
@@HaedenBeck cool thank you
Same tried to give me nuke…never. Wouldn’t trade my AW rate for anything
Nice suit ensemble, the only thing missing is the top hat and cane!!! Love your channel.
My RDC's previous division won the Hall of Fame so she was super on us about our shit. We didn't get Hall of Fame but we got the CNO flag
Dear Haeden, I’m thankful I found your channel and had the opportunity to sit through and listen to your story. Your courage and commitment to sharing your past trauma’s and history really helped normalize the stigma surrounding mental health. I myself have dealt with a long history of trauma, including the loss of my own Mother to suicide and having to deal with a dead end retail sales job that I tried so hard to make it work. Just like you, I ultimately blame myself for putting myself into a job that I should’ve known was going to take me nowhere. The strength you had to stick with it until you eventually made it to the Navy heavily outweighs my strength in terms of mental health. For you to spend a whole year preparing yourself is very noble and something you should be very proud of. For me, i ended up quitting only a year in, as I would eventually call out repeatedly to the point that I had started getting accused of stealing company time, understandably. My introduction to the Military was through a friend I played video games with. He mentioned how it was the greatest decision he ever made. So I don’t hold you any longer, I’ll be shipping out on the 29th of this month(August). Just like how much you loved your father, my mother was my best friend. Something I will always remember her by was she would always say: “things happen for a reason”. I was meant to find your channel and your message to world made it to me. Thank you for everything you’ve done and thank you for giving me and so many others the inspiration to change their life. Proud of you and keep up the great work friend.
What do MAs do in the navy?
Law enforcement, security, harbor security, expeditionary forces, antiterrorism, run the brig, that sort of thing
@@HaedenBeck oh ok so like military police. I am trying to join soon and have been going through the last steps of the MEPS processes so your videos have been extremely helpful. I am hoping to get the CTI rating but I have other interests too so I’m hoping I’ll find something out of what I’m offered.
@@meitomiyazaki9848 I'd suggest picking a few ratings before you go in your head. Recruiters and MEPS are basically used car salesman who will say or do just about anything to get you to sign up. They're just doing their jobs so we can't get mad, but nobody is gonna care about you and your career like you do and if you want something you gotta make sure it's all on the contract.
I was a Chief (GMC) at NAS Sigonella, Sicily and we saw many first term Master at Arms (E3 and below) PCS from Bahrain to our command. The joke was if they PCS from Bahrain to SIG was "schedule DRB at check-in".... they go from zero freedom to max freedom and GO CRAZY!!!
Oh lord. Things aren't as strict in Bahrain as they used to be, MAs who were there told me stories and I can't relate to them at all. Completely different experience to what I had. Bahrain was the most boring place ever work wise and life wise while I was there.
Not real Navy cops, just silly "piggy's" out checking homies for shoeshines and haircuts...!!!
Lobstah? is it you?
What you're doing is wonderful and it's an incredible insight of what enlistees are about to walk into. I went through Parris Island during the Tet offensive and what you describe is often universal with all military branches. And pointing out that nobody will sleep for several days was correct! Because Boot camp is where peace and quiet got lost.
Bro, your page is literally been such a big help. I’m shipping out in October and the rating I chose was at arms and this channel has given me a lot of good information
In combat, there is no place for modesty
I went in 1997 and we did the “car wash” method to meet the time limit. We had no bar soap only Pert shampoo. The first group gets wet then goes to middle and lathers up while the next group gets wet . Then you go back to rinse afterwards.
As an active duty MA for 6 years. It’s a great career.ive been to commands were it’s like the lite version of being a cop but also some commands your just security. It’s a great community with a lot of good people in it. Would recommend the navy is what u make it.
that funny you didn't mention been packed in the line like sardines unless that stopped that I was in boot in 2000
Serving under idiots? Worst four years of my life .
Sheesh
@@Joshdifferent Sorry dude. It is what it is.
Hey Beck!, Thank you for sharing your story. I can relate with some of your struggles in life and I just wanna say i'm proud of you for becoming the man you are today! After fighting my way to get in the Navy, I got my dream job and will be going to bootcamp on October 28, 2024. I can't wait to join because I've always the guy to improve my life and I want to become the man I've always wanted myself to be and you inspired me. I can't wait to reset my journey and focus on me and nothing else! God bless!
Best of luck, thank you!
Lmao i havent tied one in like 3 years since ive been on shore duty, but ive got a retirement ceremony tomorrow and i was just sitting in my apartment going "left over right? No right over left? No left-"
Hope this helped!
@@HaedenBeck 100% went through my flag detail and got ETCMs coin. I'm absolutely posting this in our group chat 😂😂
It goes both ways. You have the Marine Corps under-awarding chronically (where people do genuinely commendable stuff but have no personal awards) vs the army and air force, where you have Commendation medals being handed out for winning intramural sporting events. I definitely think good conduct medals don't need to be eliminated, but the criteria to get one needs to be more stringent. If someone does 3 years of failing PT tests and getting written up for doing bad/dumb shit, is their conduct really good?
Question! For bootcamp should u study the aircraft n ships?
It's not what I would focus on, no. Study the ranks, general orders, sailors creed.
The Navy is more than just a Job it is a COMMITMENT that you signed a paper you CAN NOT QUIT IT IS NOT A JOB it is your life for the next 4 years. But if you are mature enough or willing to try like this young man in this video you can do it. I got my first job selling newspapers at 8 years old I had to get o very early everyday at 5 am and the Sunday papers were thick and heavy it did not last long but it gave me an experience for the harshness of the Navy. I also had jobs picking beans shining shoes cutting grass and chores there were no video games but I was still lazy and foolish but the military gave me the discipline that I continue to use. Take this seriously it is your responsibility your life and future is on the line you can do it! This video is 100% true add the word commitment your hard work pays off take the opportunity . Good luck!
Listen up this is good true advice! A friend of mine got drunk because he signed an extension for the bonus money. He gets drunk goes to the air force base and runs his car into the gatehouse on the Air force base and fights with an officer there. The air force throws him into their jail (probably beat him). So eventually he gets transferred to the SP on our base and goes to our jail for maybe a few months when he gets out he is required to return his reenlistment bonus and loses his rank and is kicked out of the submarine force because he had marijuana in his car. He is sent to Rhode Island to be reassigned to the surface fleet as a boatswain ( an not remember) or deckhand floor washing deck scrubbing toilets chipping paint for the next four years. I know ll this because he told me (he was almost crying!) I was riding with him on my way to Rhode Island to be discharged my enlistment ended early because of injury. I knew him well I asked why did you re-up you hated it he said he did it for the money then he got drunk and high and broke laws. The military code of justice is twice as punishing as the civilian court called double jeopardy you get charged twice you do not want a BCD or the wrong kind of discharge that instead of making your life easier a bad discharge would make your life a hell. So this video is correct MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING INTO BEFORE YOU JOIN NOT A JOKE! However if you have yourself squared away and do as you are told you can have fun if you obey rules do not get too drunk in the military I had a lot of fun but I did my job even though I was very immature young man at 17 the Navy gave me the discipline I needed and I grew up quickly and nothing was too hard it is eay if you follow rules!
I remember standing watch in winter in Maine in 1980 like February on the back of a submarine in port. The Submarine is only a 3 feet above the water and it is cold and damp and you have a little hut a guardhouse like 6x6x7 it has a little heater. You are issued a handgun on a belt that you hand over to the next guy who does like 4 hours. I remember wishing I was home too but it is only a few hours So one guy decided to pull his gun fire it into the air and claimed he saw divers trying to get on his sub. Because he was tired of doing guard duty in the cold. So the next day there was an article in the Portsmouth herald newspaper the headline read: "Sub sentry reports attack by two divers!" So NIS or Naval Intelligence Service gets there the next day they take him in for interrogation and he is driven away never to be seen again. So he was punished and given a BCD or bad conduct discharge because he was tired of lack of freedom or being cold! Remember if you sign up you need to take this seriously not always fun but also not impossible you will need to grow a pair you need to be a man be responsible
Ahhh I thought you had to ship your phones and stuff back home 😭😭
My correction officer school was differently a lot toucher then navy boot camp
ship out 27th thank you 🫡
It's actually "advanced" not promoted. Officers are promoted. Enlisted are advanced to the rate of BM1, ET3, etc.
You want to strive hard and intentionally for that E4 level, life will become so much easier once you get that. That's why it's so important to get that initial jump to E2 or E3, there's a waiting period after E3 before you can become E4. I would add to all of this very useful information in the video, that it is very important to work on your military appearance - this counts for a whole lot when being evaluated and selected for promotion. Be squared away, look sharper than your peers.
Practicly they take away your mine your own you they want you to be what they wan you to be that why a lot of peole have alot of mental ilness when they return home
yo where's haeden, im about to go to bootcamp I need one more video 😂
I'm still here
Dad enlisted in 1942 in the Navy. He said it was the first time some of his fellow recruits ate 3 meals in a day as they had grown up in the depression. One of the sailors was from a holler in Kentucky. He had only ever had eggs on Christmas. He was amazed they had them every day.
I graduated April 4th 2024 Division 083
I was never SIQ but I was stuck in fat camp for three weeks
Same here brother the Navy saved me in many ways
I love your suits in every video. Looking sharp 😎
When I went in the navy I got 130 dollars a month of but that was in the 70's you get sea pay depend on time at sea
Is MA 4 year contract? Also what rates have 4 year contracts
Pretty much all enlisted contracts are 4 years active duty 4 years reserves.
Go ahead tell me about the navy I spent 22 years in the navy once you get E3 you take test for promotion and that don't means you get promotion it depends on how many points you have and if you're in and over loaded it take many tests
I'm 19 and joining the Navy this year, I'm going to Bootcamp in winter, but I don't know any of these. How am I gonna acquire them?
