    Don't sweat it if you forget or don't have a bank account. One of the very first things they do in boot camp is give everyone the option of signing up for a Navy Federal Credit Union account. Even if you do have an account, I highly encourage going this route. You'll have access to a Navy Federal Credit Union any place you get stationed. The same cannot be said for other banks.

      If you struggle with anxiety or anything just make sure you get it sorted before. people will be screaming at you. I have been in the navy for 6 years now and boot camp sucked. there is only one thing worse than bootcamp and thats sea duty. those big grey floating things are real but you will work a lot and not have much time at home. also when you get to your first ship expect to be doing all of the crap work no one wants to do. you will go cranking ( you will work in the mess deck/ galley) cleaning everyones dishes. usually its for 3 months. don't even get me started on standing watches. you will be in a duty section. usually 3 or 4 section duty and every 3 or 4 days you wont be going home you will be on the ship all day and night then expect to work a full works day the next day. my advice is choose a rate that does not involve going to sea duty or choose a rate that has a lot of options once your up for shore duty. they don't tell you the bad stuff about the navy because they want you to join. and for the love of god do not become a deck seaman. i cannot remmebr what the job is called when you join but its basically a program where you go to a ship and then apply for a rate a year down the line. you will be placed in deck department and scrapping paint for a year or 2. best of luck in the navy. just remember if you go to a ship you will hate your life but just know shore duty is right are the corner and shore duty is 10 times better than any ship.

      Hey this is an old comment but I just want to respond to the 16 (maybe 17 now?) OP.
      If/when you go, try to get a fuckin high energy mentality. Stay level headed, but give 100% to everything you do. RDC's notice that and tend to be slightly less harsh on the people who clearly show they want to be there and do well. As well, try to prepare yourself. Not everything will be as you expect, and lots of people in the division (and in the navy as a whole) are burnt out from day one and nothing but negative nancies. Prepare to deal with that kind of negativity in a constructive way, or you'll butt heads a lot.
      Final recommendation: Get good at doing planks, you'll be doing a lot of forward leaning rests. Have fun, good luck, see you in the fleet bud.

    When you mentioned shoes getting stolen that made my skin crawl and made me very angry....can't stand a thief
    As far as stenciling the issue we had was when we washed that some of the shirts were not stenciled so people were missing shirts... Then we got to a point where we were like "F" the missing shirts they did us a favor. (That was just more items to inspect and fold)
    When I went (air force) credit cards were not highly used and cash was still used alot. We had a thing called the money list!! You had to write down the serial numbers of all your money and keep a copy on you at all times and keep a copy in your security drawer.. it had to be constantly updated if you spent and received money at the BX . If it wasn't and they asked to see your money list you were in trouble if the numbers didn't match all your money..
    This lowered the stealing aspect of money also.
    I would love for you to do a reaction to "making a sailor" i know its been over done by everyone but wanted to hear your take

    • @HaedenBeck
      @HaedenBeck  11 месяцев назад

      Thievery is one of the lowest forms of petty crimes, it really makes an honest person uneasy.
      Yeah some guys bought shirts but forgot to stencil them in my division, in the end it was like hey who wants another shirt? Can't prove whose it is. Also the stencils fade so you gotta stencil them again.
      That sounds way too complex, the money list. The eagle card has been around a long time, there should have been no need for all that unless you joined many years ago? Busy work. As for the reaction video, if I did it I'd do it with a group of friends. Thanks for the comment.

    • @Astronomical1
      @Astronomical1 11 месяцев назад

      @@HaedenBeck well we had the eagle card..(it was called something different) , but you still wanted cash money to go to get a hamburger or something; or people came with money to boot camp.The eagle card only had like 200$ on it and it was never refilled. Plus the card only worked like in clothing sales for like one building. You couldn’t go just anywhere and use it on base.
      But the point was if you dropped a dollar or someone stole 20$ from you , you had this money list as proof that was your 20$ someone stole it. It’s not a problem now as people use credit cards and debit cards
      Yeah good ideal with the making the sailor

    Hi, I’m a woman in her 20s and I’m training to become a U.S. Navy SEAL.
    What advice would you give for women that want to be SEALs? If you had to go to BUD/S again, how would you prepare differently? What books or workout programs would you recommend?
    Most female SEAL candidates struggle with carrying the boats and logs, doing pull ups, having grip strength and completing the “Dirty Name” on the obstacle course. Also, a lot of female SEAL candidates break their legs or develop stress fractures.
    A woman made it to day 4 of BUD/S first phase recently but she quit on that day. That’s the farthest a woman has made it. Her BUD/S classmates told me that her class hated her and ran her out from under the boat because she was a boat ducker. Nine women have entered the SEAL pipeline since 2016.

    • @HaedenBeck
      @HaedenBeck  8 месяцев назад +2

      I got rid of everything, but kept essential things like photo albums and put them with friends and family.
      If you're leaving your current life entirely, yeah you can just get rid of everything. The navy will always provide housing. Usually a barracks room, but once you get promoted to E5 you can get money to live off base.

      I'm Enlisted as an E3 so after bootcamp and A school, they will provide housing even in the base that's fine I don't wanna keep paying for an apartment that I'm not sure if I have to come back for it other than that I can get red of my car and keep just the important things that I could give to a friend to keep for me, also wanna inform my landlord That I'm leaving is that what should do? And thank u so much for responding my comment

    Curious I’m 41 now I know the military is 41 once enlisted and if you go in as a reserve it’s 42. I guess apparently they made some changes. Now I my case what is the weight requirement because I’ve been seeing army fat camp on RUclips? O I’m in Corpus Christi, Texas

    • @HaedenBeck
      @HaedenBeck  Месяц назад

      Yeah if you can't pass the physical standards you'll be held back in training. They might put you on an exercise bike or just send you home. In the fleet you end up in "fat camp" which the navy calls FEP. It's basically mandatory PT. The navy is gonna measure your waist to see if it's good, they don't just go by weight because someone can be 215 pounds of muscle and someone else can be 215 pounds of fat and have a giant belly.

    • @HaedenBeck
      @HaedenBeck  8 месяцев назад

      There is a chance at a possible waiver, as with other things, but it's probably not likely. I actually just let that inhaler comment slip out if you want to know the truth.

    • @danielpittman889

      If you score high enough on the ASVAB, your recruiter will find a way to waiver your asthmatic ass to boot camp.

    Do you know what happens if you make weight at meps and get overweight while in the dep program?

    • @HaedenBeck
      @HaedenBeck  11 месяцев назад +1

      If you show up to boot camp heavy, you'll probably be allowed to train still but you'll wish they didn't let you. Your life will not be rainbows and unicorns. Everything will be more difficult and you might get sent back in training because you fail fitness events, which means you lose all your friends, your enlistment bonus, and you have to stay in boot camp longer. Stay in the best shape you can! If you can't run a mile and a half or do 50 pushups, keep exercising until you can before you go. Boot camp will not get you in shape, only test what you brought to the table.

    • @DF-rx5mg
      @DF-rx5mg 11 месяцев назад +1

      You have to make weight or body fat before you ship, or you will not be leaving on your ship date. If you have gained weight, get at it to be back to where you were when you joined or below to avoid any issues. Don't give meps the power to keep you from achieving your goals. Good luck.
