Like all exercise selection it's all about finding what feels the best for you. Different pulldowm attachments are no different. As for paying for the brand name for exactly the same thing, well you know what they say about the fool and his money.

Which size shoulder head bolt is the one that holds the actual hook and not the stopper? I’m thinking of upgrading the bolts but removing the stopper to get more space away from the rack. The close swing sucks since there are times squatting and end up hitting the hooks/jcups.

More like a sponsored ad for mag grips than a genuine review. If these were really made in the U.S., shipping would be minimal or included in the price - clearly not the case here. The production cost is also very low. I live in Ireland, where import fees are high, yet I bought seven knockoff attachments for €99 (~$88), including shipping. I've used the originals at the gym and honestly, there's no meaningful difference, but in fairness they have exact same handles (and even if they work less well for you, it could mean completely different to someone else, likewise for the mag grips). Plus, you mentioned buying five attachments, but showed more in the video. Video quality is great, but this feels a bit misleading.

I think 5 to 50 in 5 pound increments is fine then you can go ten pound increments for the rest. Save yourself some money for the home gym... Start with 5 to 50, maybe a 60 or 70 and upgrade as needed.

Thank you for making this video. Super entertaining and you’re the only person online who did an actual weight stress test on a bench that went to failure. Something I’ve always been curious about. Honestly this bench seems like a low level scam. It’s a crap bench like the cheap Marcy benches that you can buy for $60, but it’s triple the price. Crap benches have their place, but if anyone wants a cheap bench that is made to be used lightly and thrown out soon, they’re not supposed to cost $150-200. For the same money there are so many reasonably well made options. For what it’s worth, I don’t think this bench has any meaningful margin of safety at all. If it fails at 650, to be safe you wouldn’t want to go over like 150lbs.

I've been tracking many of these home gym equipment companies for many years and from my experience Ironmaster and XMARK have my loyalty. The Ironmaster Super Bench Pro (v1) and several of the bench attachments and dumbbells have served well with no problems at all. The XMARK equipment I bought is also super solid and high quality. Both companies packed their equipment solidly for shipping with no problems upon arrival. Titan and Bells of Steel seemed to have cut lots of corners in modern times and have outpriced themselves relative to the quality of other equipment companies.

I have been sticking to the same expensive brand, (won't name) purchasing more over time, noticing them perishing & falling apart, then realised they were lasting 1½ - 2 years max, at which point they are dangerous. Are they all like that... When company was politely approached to query, head office became very rude & brushed me under the carpet......

That 32mm bar has been my primary bar since all the gyms closed in 2020 and I scrambled to build out my home gym. It was a lucky find cheap on fb marketplace, and I’ve been happy with it. I’m a fan of the slightly larger diameter as well. I hadn’t heard this company mentioned anywhere in review land. Thanks for your thoughts on it

In my mind, the main benefit of the monolift is extending the functional area of your safety spotters. Fixed j cups that you have to walk out of feature the same problem as what you're describing here, so you have to walk out twice as far, getting closer to the end of your spotters where they are less likely to catch your barbell if you fail. TLDR version: they enable you to get the most out of your most important safety attachment.

Have been slowly buying a few at a time and cut some up for a deadlift platform. Do not buy the Amazon “gym” mats. Stall mats are it. If a horse can walk on it you can grace it with bumper plates and the tears of your enemies. Yes, it will smell for a bit. It’s off gassing and that’s normal for a newly manufactured rubber product. Just keep good airflow for a few weeks and it will pass.

As someone who lives in Canada, Bells of Steel is your best option for affordability. When you factor in shipping, many of these other companies can be upwards of triple the price, for similar quality. And now that BoS is opening in more locations, its local for many of us. I live in Calgary and go directly to the showroom. On Canada day I get between 15%-45% off of new equipment, and they stack a first responder discount for an additional 5% off. I also regularly buy returns and clearance items for 50-85% off. I bought a full set of iron plates from them and averaged about .45c per pound (CAD). I bought a returned commercial urethane dumbell set from 5lb-100lb in 5 lb increments at 2$ per pound because a show home bought the set, never used it and then returned it because the weights were "oily". I've kitted my entire basement, two power racks, hack squat, barbells, iron plate set (over 1000lbs), bumper plate set (over 1000lbs), kettlebells, dumbells, all sorts of utility bars and weight storage options and a lot more, and I've only spent around $4500 Canadian. I purchase new from BoS once per year on their Canada Day sale, and spend around $1500-2000 per year. Otherwise I only buy clearance items from them. Is it the best quality? Hell no. Is it the best value? Hell yes, by a very significant margin for Canadians. And for residential use, it will last a lifetime. I'm not the strongest dude, but I'm benching over 300lb, I'm squatting around 600lbs, OH press 200+lbs... I'm dropping weights. I'm slamming Jcups. I'm throwing the 100lb dumbells twice per week, and dropping them repeatedly onto a concrete floor; no issues. I've never seen anything falter or fail. And based on the clearance items I have purchased from BoS, they return EVERYTHING. FFS, they gave a full refund to a show home because the urethane weights, that are intentionally oiled to maintain the rubber, were oily... And then they sell the same weights to me for more than 50% off, knowing they're perfectly fine.
