- In this video I go over the new product from Darko Lifting called the barbell anchor. It allows you to store 2 barbells up inside the rack hanging off the top crossmembers.

Basement Brandon shows getting this rep safety bar up there easily. Cheers
This channel deserves more subs.
Thanks I appreciate your comment!
Since you showed the washers trick...I unbolted my rack put the washer the right way even if the damage was done...my ocd has been doing much better! 🤣
ha ha.. right on. We have the same OCD! cheers bro

@@pob1845 Thats the plan.
I have a few bars and just moved into a much smaller garage with low ceilings, so my horizontal and vertical spaces were tight....this looks like it may be a perfect solution.
i stopped using the barbell anchor. Just too annoying to have bars over head in the rack.
I had wondered how the SSB would work. Thanks for showing that!
Glad that helped! cheers
Nice!! Now I can buy more barbells! My wife thanks you lmao 😅
😜👍🏻👍🏻
The Rep SSB was my downfall as well. What a pain to store that bar! I wound up having to get Tornado hooks and drill them directly into studs to hang the SSB flush on the wall. There was no other option with those grab handles.
ya it's awkward just to move around! I know exactly what your saying.
Good Stuff. I also like where/how you put up that OTB too
Thanks Sam💪🏼
For the SSB likely would have to have the anchors all the way towards the wall depending your rack setup.
Otherwise I'd use the anchors for my "go to" bars that I'm gonna be pulling down to use nearly every lift.
Honestly I stopped using the anchor all together. Just easier to pull a barbell off my storage and use it. I swap bars often so probably not the best option for me. I think for home gyms short on space and have 1-2 bars it's a great idea!
How many inches under the 3x3 crossmember does the bar sit with the anchors? I have 80” uprights and trying to determine if I will hit my head on the bar ?
don't buy them. Since the video I stopped using them to store bars.
@@MacStrengthCo appreciate it. They just get in the way too much? Trying to find a solution for swapping my bar and Bella bar in tight space. Kids will have a hard time swapping in the Bella bar
they just jam up the rack too much. I found it annoying to have bars up there. @@anthonyl9566
@@MacStrengthCo got it! Thanks!
Thanks from T. O.
Thank you too!
Btw, have you made a video on swiss/football bars, and if not, do you recommend any particular vendors/distributors?

Overall best cambered bar is the REP bar hands down. If money is no object go Rogue which I have another review on. ELITE makes a nice bar but it's 38lbs and odd sized sleeves it comes in behind the REP bar in my opinion.
What about a non-cambered swiss bar?
@@Lpttrsn301981 just not something I use. I have one and rarely used it
Those are a great idea, but they won't work for my setup. I have the Rep Fitness PR 5000 with 30" front crossmembers with a multigrip pullup bar and Ares. I need the room between the pullup bar and middle cross member to do lat pulldowns. My Kabuki Transformer bar is the only bar that gets exclusive "in the rack use" and you have already shown that SSBs don't work well with the storage hooks.
Agreed it's not for everyone. Just a neat storage solution.
Have the exact same setup except I have a PR4000. Any tips for ease of use. Don’t really have a problem with mine, but wouldn’t mind hearing your take to see if I’m missing something I can get use of
Is it possible using the anchor as a pair of J cup 😂
I would say no. I don't think they are made for carrying much weight.
@@MacStrengthCo it holds your weight haha
@@DingusSquatfordJr. rated for dad bod weight.😂
@@MacStrengthCo makes sense
I use mine for my ssb and rep cambered bar cus the rep bar is too thick for my barbell rack. I put the anchor back more so it doesn't hit my head
Great info and I think there's so many ways to load up the SSB just wasn't into messing with it honestly I'll just keep it stored in my barbell 9 bar holder.
