Stumbled upon this video and want to thank you. I’ve taken an 18 month break from WC painting and sketching due to work (architect) and life, and decided a month ago to start up again and this time with ink and watercolor sketching before I start painting again. Just ordered a kaweco sport for my travels. Love your work.

also learned to wait a bit after inking because even waterproof kink will bleed when its not dried completely

I once visited artist John McCombs' gallery and workshop in Delph, England. I was interested to find out how much detail should be put on a face. I was amazed when he showed me one painting of his and I saw happy, smiling faces, until I looked closer and there was no detail whatsoever on their faces. It was just the image, what it portrayed and the mind made up the rest. Thanks for your video.

If you use a shellac based ink (Rohrer und Klingner Ausziehtusche for example) and your nib is stuck in the holder because of dried ink, you can try to remove it with alcohol. That will dissolve the shellac but it can take some time. Maybe soak the thing over night.

Hallo Martin! Welche wasserfeste Tusche verwendest du in dem Füller? Ich habe in meinem Lamy die sketching ink von Rohrer und Klinger, aber wenn ich den nicht jeden Tag verwende, dann ist alles verstopft! Und ich brauche gefühlt ewig, den Füller wieder in Gang zu kriegen….ggggrrrr
