Are Wrap Dresses REALLY flattering on EVERY body type? Reggie Wrap Pattern Review #patternreview
This review was so helpful. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. I love the flower panel especially. Your dress turned out great and it looks really nice on you.
I'm a beginner. Do you have a video i can follow to help me with Trinnie Woven Dress 10-12 MLDW0822M? Thank you. This pattern was very expensive. I hope it was worth it.
Thanks!
Love the tie dye top, fabric and style
I absolutely love your dress! That was a great save! I’m in the middle of making a Donny shirt! I have been struggling with adding the back bodice and doing the burrito. Looking for advice. When I sew the back bodice to the back yoke RST then do the burrito I have twice had to unpick it because the back bodice is inside out! 🤦♀️🤷♀️ I have watched the video but she goes pretty fast and I have read the instructions. Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong? Thank you for this video! I am built similar to you and will probably have to adjust my pattern too! Love you 3rd rendition! ♥️
This is the first year I have heard about this project. I will definitely be sewing this year to donate next year. I love to sew and just now beginning to follow the sewing community.
Mitchelle, I love your use of colorful fabrics to make such joyful dresses.
I just heard of it on line on you tube
Your duster looks fab! Great description. I’m tracing the pattern out now and I am a similar height (t-Rex arms and legs too hahaha) and size so your fit notes are perfect!
I had the privilege of being on the vlogging logging tour. Your dresses are so cute.❤ You had me cracking up with your downloading of bags rationale.😅😅😅 Have a blessed week! 🙏
Thank you so much Zelda! I'll go have a look at your video!!
Love your fabrics. So bright and colourful. Unfortunately I have to use fabrics from my stash but I am Sure some little girl will love it. I heard about the project 2 years ago and planned on making some but failed. This year I am making it a priority.
All of the fabric I used was from my scrap bin :). Thank you for joining in the cause - you will make some little girl(s) very happy 😀
Just learned about this a few days ago. Would like to participate next year. I have a large stash of fabric.
It's not too late to participate this year - some of these patterns are super quick to sew up with scrap fabrics! But if you can't this year, that's ok :). Thank you for watching!!
Beautiful dresses! 🥰
Thank you! 🤗
Girls are going to love wearing your dresses❤ great video😊
Thank you 🤗
I made Alisa's 2024 dress this weekend.
Isn't it adorable? I love those pockets!
YOUr dresses are perfect.. How lovely for some little girl to get them.. I'm just happy to see you each week or there abouts😄
Thank you so much 😊
I love your bright beautiful dresses. I love me some color. ❤❤❤❤thank you (BLESSINGS TO YOU!)
Thank you so much 😍
So pretty dresses the little girls you get these will be so happy❤😊
Thank you so much Robyn!
Thanks for sharing your adorable dresses for Project Dress a Girl. I love the beautiful colors. I plan to sew several up this year. One of them I will sew with my 6 year old granddaughter who loves to sew and also has a real heart for children in need.
Oh what a special memory that will be for your granddaughter! I love it!
Such pretty dresses, great choice of fabric. This is my second year, I made five pop over sun dress last year. This time I have finished four with six more cut out. All of these are for the size twelve as they mentioned they get fewer of this size. I also downloaded the Alisa’s latest pattern & will make a few of these. Re the pockets I always line mine & as you mentioned it strengthens them. Thank you great video.❤
Wow - you are so generous with your time and supplies to be making that many dresses! You are going to make some little girls very happy :)
Thank you for sewing the size 12 dresses! At Dress a Girl Tucson we always have so many requests for the larger dresses!
What a great find! I will have to grab that new pattern!
Easy and adorable :)
I love the Popover Sundress and have made several for PDAG 2024.
It's my favorite "go to" pattern!
I go off pattern instructions too and double up the fabric for pockets for stability. Lovely dresses xx
Thanks Mandy 😊
I always do the double layer patch pockets too. They don't stretch out the way single layer pocket. Plus trying to iron over the edge. Is stressful
Agree!! 😊💕
The girls who receive your dresses are going to be so happy with them!
I sure hope so!!
Lovely dresses! Project Dress A Girl is such a feel good thing for me. I combine it with my love of thrifting... it's amazing how much donated quilting cotton I find during the year. Thanks for the smiles 🥰
That's a great combo Diane! I'm a fan of thrifting as well but I don't go as often as I'd like. I never seem to have luck finding actual fabric. I find fun printed sheets and great linen tablecloths though!
Michelle, you have such a great eye for stylishly matching colors and prints together. Not everyone is able to be as adept at this. What a great gift. I love color! Super cute dresses! 🥰 Bernadette
Hi Bernadette! What a wonderful compliment! That really means a lot to me because I LOVE mixing prints and colors 💕. It means so much when someone appreciates it. I hope you're having a wonderful weekend!!
I’m coming back to quilting after 24 year hiatus and not interested in traditional blocks and a whole lot of perfect. I planning on collage, and art quilts for placemats using Ankara remnants . I’m drawn to improvisational quilting. I’m a former rule follower turned rule breaker in garment sewing 🪡 and quilting now😮. But great to see you again. Sometimes we need breaks even from the hobbies we love. And, I love your dress. I make those as well.
I love that you turned into a rule breaker! It's so much more fun, right?? 🤣 Thank you so much for watching and congrats on coming back to quilting!!
Def give the business a try, and see how it goes! I wonder if “Hand-dyed” would bring more traffic than “Ice-dyed”, since it’s a more broad description? 🤔 I cannot imagine weeding all that vinyl for the cruise shirts! 😱 You are AMAZEBALLS! 💗
I definitely think I need to use "hand-dyed" rather than "ice-dyed" - I'm sure most people wouldn't know what that is! The weeding took 15 minutes for each logo! Good thing I started early and was able to knock out a handful at a time over the course of a few weeks. Which is a shocker, I'm never ahead of the game 🤣🤣🤣
I just made it yesterday. I lengthened it by 7” but it’s very large and boxy, no shape at all to it. I also lengthened the sleeves.to full length.
Definitely no shape - I'm thinking I might do an FBA next time. I'll still need to lengthen it, but maybe that will help give it a little more shape. Do you love yours? I like it enough to keep trying more versions!
I’m pretty new at following print out patterns (or patterns at all)/beginner at sewing and decided this jumpsuit would be a good starting point. Immediately got intimidated by the pattern lol, but your video was really helpful and informative, thank you!!
Oh good - I'm so glad you found it helpful. I love this jumpsuit! I've drifted away from making jumpsuits because they are a pain to wear. And I've donated all the other jumpsuits I've made over the last few years EXCEPT for this one - I just love it!! I hope you enjoy yours as well 😊
Michelle, I would love it if you had a channel and sold your ice dyed fabric, as I would be the first one in line and purchase as much as I cold. Yor fabric that you create is wonderful. All of the dresses were beautiful and looked gorgeous on you.!! I get so much inspiration from you. It is good to see you back. 😀❤
Some really pretty sewing! Thanks for sharing. I confess I didn’t know the click into a queue information.😱🤣
Oh I'm glad I could help educate you on the way the "i card" works! Thanks so much for watching Norma!
Hi Michelle. I'd love to buy some of your ice dyed fabric! All the pieces you've shown have been gorgeous. If you're at the concept stage, I'm not sure if you want any details yet. But others have already mentioned fabric bases, so I'll offer my preferences. My favorite fabric is jersey knit of 95% pima cotton with 5% spandex. That mix seems to be the most dependably soft cotton-spandex fabric. The softness is what makes me want to buy more of what's on offer along with rich wonderful colors and patterns. Same with rayon wovens -- the ones that are soft are the most appealing to me. That even applies to woven cotton fabric for me -- the softer ones like cotton lawn are often more appealing to me for garments. I make quilts too. For those projects, I'm usually looking for light but densely woven cotton fabrics with beautiful prints or colors; to me softness is nice but not essential for that use. I think it's exciting that you might create a business and hope it could be structured to result in a decent income for you and all the time you invest in creating the fabric. Wishing you the best as you think about possibilities and jump into researching and learning and expanding horizons, Antonia
Thank you so much for your input on the fabric bases - that's definitely helpful! Since I don't really sew with knits much, it's good to know what people prefer. I probably won't do a lot of quilting cottons because that seems to be available on Etsy from many different sellers. I'm trying to offer something that isn't already "out there". Thank you for your support! I'll definitely keep all of you updated on the progress (or lack thereof haha) of the business idea.
@@MichelleSewsAgain Hi Michelle. Have you seen the recent video by Charlie Nebe with a caution about trying to monetize a hobby? She has a RUclips channel called The Stitchery and started a second one. The most-recent video is her reflections on trying to start the second channel and why that was a bad idea for her embroidery projects. Here is the link, in case you want another perspective on starting a business: ruclips.net/video/gBfHf2F4kkY/видео.html I hope your research and plans are going well, Antonia
Love the dresses. The tropical one turned out really cute.
Thank you so much! I really love that one - I've already gotten a few wears out of it!
I would love to buy your fabric. I would wear it and quilt with it!
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback!!
Love both the dresses I have sewn s/arc cocoon dress with adjustments i Love it great fabrics oooogreat colours lots of fun ahead 😊😊😊
Thanks Robyn!
Hey its great to see you and hear what you are up to. Maybe a tee shirt business is in your future too.
Hi Carmen! I think I'll stick to fabric for my business - the tee shirt market is heavily saturated and a lot of people undervalue their work - so it doesn't leave much room to charge what I think my time would be worth. But I love making tees for my friends and family 😊💕
I don’t recall if you have a serger or not. You could run the towels for your swatches through the serger and it would cut them and finish one edge of the fabric. You’d have to run the opposite edge(s) through serger separately. Just an idea if your pinking rotary blade doesn’t work well. I have one and dislike it.
Yes, I have a serger 😊. I thought about doing that but I have so many to do - I just didn't want to use up my thread on this project, you know? Plus - once these have gone through the dryer - they won't be at risk of fraying anymore. I used the pinking rotary blade and I love it! So much easier than the shears - at least for me 😊. I appreciate the suggestion!! 💕
Ice dyed fabric buy the yard would be fantastic
Thanks for the feedback Sheelagh!!
That was a lot, and it was fun! You made some beautiful dresses. I don’t know about the fabric biz, but you have a lot of followers who love your ice dying.
Haha - yes, it WAS a lot!! Thanks for the feedback on the fabric biz! I know a lot of people compliment my fabrics but that doesn't mean they'll buy it if I offer it for sale. So I appreciate you letting me know 😀 THANKS!!
First thing you made was absolutely beautiful on you. The tropical one was very nice. ❤
Thanks so much 😀💜
Hi Cuz! I love all the pretty fabrics! I've never sewn with scuba, is it easy to work with? The idea of being able to buy ice dyed fabric sounds great to me.. I would definitely be a customer.
Hi Cuz! The scuba was SO easy to work with! It's a super stable knit fabric. Thanks for the feedback on the fabric!!
I would be interested in purchasing your ice-dyed fabric by the yard. I’ve made a number of ice-dyed t-shirts but don’t have the room for setting up to do yardage. Yours are so beautiful!
Thank you so much for the feedback Rachel! I really appreciate it 😊💕
Oh my gosh.... I've got a zigzag blade in my set of refills for the rotary cutter. Never thought to actually use it as pinking sheers.... Like a big DUHHHH😵💫 I have wrist problems too and those pinking sheers are just useless for me.
I received the blade on Friday and used it immediately - it worked like a charm! Aren't those duh moments fun 🤣🤣🤣
