My Full Journey From Saigon to Hue (I GOT LUCKY!)
In this travel vlog, I journey from Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to Hue, the old imperial capital in the central region of Vietnam. Along the way I get lucky in the comfort department of the journey, or at least as lucky as you can get on a plane.
The total travel time was about four hours, which is pretty standard for the 400 mile journey although it could have been a bit shorter if the plane took off exactly on time.
I’m happy to be here in Hue, and I’m excited to share the adventures with you!
Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed this travel vlog.

Actually your accent is closer to the middle of VN than to the South. The accent from people in Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngai is very hard to hear. Hue’s accent is OK.

Call middle age women "chị", they'll like it better than " cô" for your age. When you're off camera, you sound almost like a vietnamese in some sentences. Good work with your study.

FYI. The reason VietJet does not park at the gate is because they are a discount airline. Cost more money to dock at the gate. Cheaper for them to park somewhere else and get bussed over. The only time VietJet would have a gate is when they are on an international airport e.g in Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.

Just hearing you mention Phu Bai, and seeing you land (safely) there sure brought up so many memories of my time serving on that base. I especially liked (honored) you speak of your grandfather as a tribute. Cherish those good times. Take in the sights, enjoy the different foods and mingle with the locals. It is so great that you can speak the Vietnamese language so well. You da man !!

115 000 for pho and water is super expensive. Next time check your bags in and walk out of the airport and eat for 30 k aomewhere. Well i know Saigon is expensive but the airport food is quite bad. Brtter to eat big the night before and wait till youre in Da Nang or Hue

Yes, her English is very good for someone who had never lived in the U.S. Grammar wise are quite good with present, past, future tenses, and past participles. She also add ‘s’ and ‘es’ when saying plural words, and ‘d’ in adjectives, for example buttered bread. No, buttered bread is not in this conversation but I am using that as an example.

I suggest you to try Banh Huê , the Huê salty cakes at Mu Do restaurant in Chi Lang district , Banh Uot Thit Nuong at Huyên Anh restaurant in Kim Long district ( not too far from Thiên Mu pagoda ) and Banh Khoai at Lac Thiên or Lac Canh restaurants next to Thuong Tu Gate . I always go to those places every time I am in Huê . There are delicious . Be careful with Com Hên you could get food poisoning with the clams . For dessert try Che Hem on Hung Vuong street . If you had a high budget take an imperial court dinner tour ( Com Cung Dinh ) with other high end foreign tourists for about 100 -120 USD / pax . There you will enjoy the delicacies that used to be served only to the imperial family during the monarchy time .

"Em" is the title you give to someone younger than you. generally, older age = higher rank in the culture. Properly addressing someone, in relation to yours (or your father's) age, is incredibly important Some ladies prefer that you would refer to them as a younger person, even if the lady is technically older. Same thing for couples.
