Hot or running temp gives a good perspective in what oil does best.imho. 5w-0w oils overlap so much that the cushion may be better tham a millisecond faster flow when compressed or pushed by a pump??? Japanese oil tech at engine manufacture facility seemed to infer that USA destroys their engines with 0w oils by green mandates. 0w/ 5w 20z are only rated up to 60 c or close to 68 f then a 30 run temp oil is necessary to stop oil burning, carbon on oil rings that freeze up and destroy the cylinder walls at half life of the engine! He said do not blame toyota for USA green mandates! If I remember correctly. The gist was temp in desert freeway drives require higher viscosity if you desire engine longevity over 2 mpg and 80,000 engine life. Not 20w-50, just a reasonable balance viscosity to ambient air temp and the engine temp. Change out burned oil if your car overheats. 5,000 miles will degrade any oil. The carbon black crispies will eat up any engine. Ps my engines run 300,000 miles and out last my running geer. Just a bit of advise and old maintenance man perspective! Not too uncommon. I think the part was revised in 2018. I've recently replaced my failed mount on my f56 Cooper S with the GP3/jcw clubman unit

A few rounds of tape should be fine.

A good for fun test, do a high temp wear test using 0w20 vs 10w30 full synthetic. Heat the oils up to 200F the immediately test.

Heads up, Ctek only stated that the wires (power&main connector) from the device were rated to -30c not the accesory attachment clips. Of course it's a bummer that those accesory clips should have been made from the same material but don't worry I have used the exact same model for the past 3 years outdoors with the cold down to -35c with no problems on my bmw.

I think that you should cut a piece of soda can you place over the groove before electrical taping the cable into the groove. It will prevent the cable from pushing out of the groove as much.

The bigger the opening of the container that's being used to do the cold oil test the less of a difference you will see between different oils because the large opening allows for very little oil flow restriction. This is why when oil companies do these sort of tests they use long, narrow, cylindrical tubes to demonstrate the cold oil flow abilities rather than wide open jars as a long smaller diameter tube more closely simulates the natural flow resistance that's encountered in oil passages. It's also a good idea when using long narrow tubes for the cold test to not fill the tubes to the top but instead leave about 3 to 4 inches empty top space so that when the tubes are rotated start the pouring the oil doesn't make its way out of the tube until the tubes are fully rotated in to the pour position which in turn allows for better visual observations of the flow capabilities of each oil versus the others.

Yes, Resolute is packaged by CITGO. Same juice as Supergard. CITGO did package some of the Super Tech but not since 2017/18. Obviously, Super Tech quality has diminished.

I made a similar thing. Just got a bunch of sikaflex (sealing polyurethane) around the part where thereis nothing and it works pretty well. Now I'm wondering if the trans mount needs to be changed and improved by the same way.
