Yes, mine used to creak. I pretty much have it silent now. #1: I’d suggest removing and reinstalling the press fit bottom bracket using a primer and retaining compound. Park Tool AP-1 and RC-1 are good options. I used Loctite SF7649 Primer and 641 Retaining Compound. This is a common issue with press fit BBs, nothing specific to Ghost. #2: Remove, grease and reinstall all the suspension pivots/linkages. If you download the parts diagram for this bike it shows which parts should be greased. I took mine apart and only the main pivot just above the BB had a tiny bit of grease. The other pivots were dry as a bone and should have been greased but were not. Poor assembly by Ghost in my opinion.
LakeLake123 thanks so much! Just ordered those and will do what you recommended. Hopefully that’ll solve everything. One other thing, have you found a dropper post that will go all the way down? Mine bottoms out with at least 1 1/2” sticking out of the top, so I can’t get the seat to go it’s lowest. Thanks again for the help!
pathfin9 My dropper cable was kinked up at the very end of the post itself when I got the bike. I’d recommend pulling the post out all the way, and seeing if the cable is bent at all. This could prevent the post from going down all the way if the cable is pretty much balled-up down there. My dropper cable was damaged enough when new I ended up buying and installing a new cable which smoothed out the dropper operation a bit. I’m not too impressed with the factory assembly of this bike. Once I everything was sorted everything out, it’s a great bike. Just some sloppy assembly.
LakeLake123 thanks! Checked it out and figured out that the bottom of the post was hitting the crank, so that’s why it wouldn’t go any lower. Ended up buying the Oneup Components v2 dropper post. Works perfectly and I’m able to drop down all the way now. Got about an extra inch of drop. Thanks for the tips and help!!
This was really cool. I've never even heard of this trail. Looks really fun though.
I have the same bike! Do you get creaking from the frame though? Mine started to quiet down, and now it’s getting louder and more constant. Any ideas?
