Clearly Filtered Water Pitcher Review - Is It Really the BEST Filter?!
Great video. Very informative.
Our water company has so much chlorine we smell it when open our tap and this small is new since they added more homes to the company. The water also makes my son nauseous when we try's to drink it! We now use Sim Pure.. with 2 RO's..
Whhat about simpure?
The SimPure Y7P-BW was part of this test - results are in our Google Sheet!
I had one of those water drop chubby pitchers and I loved the design... but I felt like after I filtered the water... it still tasted like tap water.....and I remember being freaked out how fast it was filtering.... and yet the reviews on amazon were glorious....
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this amazing information. We have a Waterdrop 10UA Under Sink Water Filter System. I have been using it for 6 months, and lately I’ve been experiencing headaches and dizziness. I’m not saying it comes from the Waterdrop system, but I’m worried; so I decided to run some tests too. I’m a person living with a compromised Immune System, and that’s why I purchased this system. I don’t know if you have done any reviews on the system I have, but I will check to see if you do have a video on this unit. Anyway; I would like to say thank you very much for all your help. Best wishes to you, your family, and all your viewers, this new year 2025. May GOD bless you all.
Thank you so much for your kind words! No, we haven't tested the Waterdrop 10UA yet unfortunately.
Where can I find that report of which contaminates it removes?
If you're talking about the performance data sheet, here's the link: aquatruwater.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/AQT_PerfDataSheet_CounterTop_01.22_R1_HR.pdf The results from our lab testing can be found here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E7ZS0bPmHeKEUK8I7-v8OqTNtUbM91UnxJ68zQzpObY/
I have the G3P800.... It has been installed for about 2 months and reads 13 to 15 TDS.... I'm seeing mixed responses from that reading on Google and youtube.... Some articles/people say 13 TDS is safe for drinking and will cause no long term effects, some say anything below 50 TDS can cause long term cardiovascular problems and weaken bones..... Does anything have any real knowledge on this subject?
We could only find recommendations for calcium (~50 ppm) and magnesium (20-30 ppm) in drinking water, so essentially a combined level of 75-80 ppm (Source: iris.who.int/bitstream/handle/10665/43403/9241593989_eng.pdf). You can achieve these levels by remineralizing your water after filtration. And when you consider that you still have some other healthy dissolved solids left in your filtered water, you should reach a TDS of around 100 ppm which, based on the same report linked above, seems to fall within the recommended range.
thanks for info but presenter could speak a little slower.
Thank you for the feedback!
Hi, what about salt based water softeners? I have one at my home, Will the system work well? I read somewhere that it was not recommended.
I've just confirmed this with Waterdrop and using a water softener upstream of the G3P600 is not an issue.
I'm just looking for a filter to remove chlorine and fluoride.
Fluoride is really difficult to remove. So far we've never achieved 100% reduction but we saw the best results with the reverse osmosis systems we tested. As for chlorine, at least 95% of the filters we tested removed 100%.
Can you test these for plastic contamination? It's a shame that these expensive systems do so well to filter water, and they do it all while likely contaminating the water with microplastics.
We'd love to, but for now it's not within our budget - testing for microplastics is extremely expensive.
Do they sell to Australia?
Which system are you interested in? If it's AquaTru, their website says to purchase from www.rightspinhealth.com.au/
are ANY of these systems free from plastic touching the water?
Unfortunately, no. We don't know of any under sink RO right now where there's no contact between water and plastic.
This video was basically a log comercial for the brand that sponsored her.
I was not able to find the NSF cert for the Waterdrop units on the NSF website. Can you point me in the right direction? I did easily confirm the NSF cert for Cloud RO system, however.
It's easiest if you check our Google Sheet which links them all. Anyway, here they are: pld.iapmo.org/file_info.asp?file_no=0014301 - pld.iapmo.org/file_info.asp?file_no=0014805 - pld.iapmo.org/file_info.asp?file_no=0013976 - You need to search for "G3P600" within the document.
Excellent! Thanks for testing, making the video and sharing with us. :)
Click Bait!!!!!
i just purchased the Bluevua and am wondering if this is an issue with them as well?? I read they disinfect as well. :( Is there any way to find out?
Which Bluevua model do you have? We've tested the RO100ROPOT and didn't find any leaching.
@boswater6065 awesome! That's the one I have. Thanks!
You're welcome!
I have just the g2, it was on sale for only $100 so I grabbed it, but i think it’s so sketchy they don’t provide any lab certifications and or filter results! So I’m thinking of returning it before I even open it
No NSF certifications/filter results is quite common, though. But you are right, why not go with a system that has one or both instead?
Amazing video , thank you for your efforts , I watched this video as I'm planning to purchase under sink water filter , I have a suggestion to test Apec 6/stages filter and Ispring 6/stages filter as those are the best seller's now
Thank you for your kind words! Do you have a model number for the APEC/iSpring systems?
I have the bluvua and bought because it also has remineralization after cleansing and reverse osmosis. Bluvua and Aqua Tru are about the same in filtration but with Aquatru you have to constantly add minerals and get the ratio right. Aqua blue sells minerals but that comes at an additional price which is not needed with Bluvua. Also I have had both and find the bluevua at least for me can go about 1 year before changing filters and and replacement filters for aquablu are more expensive. at nearly 60 a filter on Amazon so $180 for replacing aquatru, and about $90 is what I paid to replace all 4 bluvua filters. I prefer also have the remineralization on the carafe thus water does not get cloudy with bluvua. So personally I would go with Bluvua. I'm not in need of hot water from my filtration as I have Breville that brews perfect water for any type of tea, coffee or espresso. Also I have had friends that live in hard water areas of the South and said Aquatru didn't filter right with water at 11 gpg where they are. They spend over 450 on aquatru only to get bluvua. Also for those people technology challenged Bluevua has nice customer service and helped a elderly friend to set up.
Thanks for sharing!
Costco carries the Brondell Circle Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System. Do you have any reviews and test results for this system? Thank you.
It was part of our under sink RO comparison: ruclips.net/video/2lVPi2g0VGI/видео.html - In a nutshell, filtration results were really solid and we have lots of NSF certifications. Usability was also great, except that faucet flow was by far the slowest out of all under sink ROs we tested. And we didn't like the considerable amount of negative 3rd-party customer feedback on Amazon (most issues revolve around malfunctioning systems and overall quality issues).
Could you review the Bluevua RO100ROPOT-Lite(UV) with lab testing? Thank you for your consideration :)
It's on our list. Thank you!
Hi! I would love to see a review/ lab test for the waterdrop g2, I ordered it after getting a super cheap Amazon deal but after some investigation I found out it’s not even nsf certified or lab tested 🤔 have you ever heard of or tested the g2 before? Thanks! Love the videos
Thank you so much! Which G2 model do you have, G2 or G2P600? We're planning to test the G2P600 at some point. You are right, no NSF certifications except 372 for low lead content.
My state requires child care centers to have lead levels under 5 ppb. Can I assume that if the NSF 53 certification passes the 150 ppb to at least 5 ppb, that filter can reduce a lead count of 7 ppb to close to zero?
I would assume that, yes, although I could be wrong. And I would definitely test this (on a regular basis) to confirm that the water is indeed lead-free.
Quick question. If i have a water softener which is salt based i cant use the waterdropg3p600?
I think the only reason why Waterdrop says this is because your RO water might still taste a little salty. But usually placing a water softener upstream of an RO system is a great idea.
@@boswater6065 thank you commenting. I have spoken to their rep and mentioned that if i have purchased their system and i have water softener installed the warranty will be void as they said that this is not recommended with salt based water softener. pretty frustating since i thought that RO system benefits with a softer water. Do you have any recommendations ?
@JirehUbaldo Thanks for sharing. I've double-checked the product manual for the warranty information and couldn't find anything about water softeners. I'll reach out to our Waterdrop contact to confirm this and will update asap.
@@boswater6065 Thank you. If you go to their waterdrop3p600 and scroll down you will see that it says it is not recommended for water softener with salt based. I find this odd.
@JirehUbaldo Yes, I saw that. But it doesn't say anything about that in the warranty terms. But I can hopefully provide an update on this soon!
Glysophates and herbicides am also concerned about.

So is it good or what? What’s the best filter in the market
We've compared the 11 best/most popular pitchers here: ruclips.net/video/IvDJLKEBI7U/видео.html
All I can think of when I see her perfect face is SOMF. Just SOMF already! 🤷🏻
Hmmm, Berkey eh - isn't that odd - who did you say you work for ?
Berkey objectively achieved the best lab results. We don't work for Berkey or any of the other water filter brands/companies we test. However, we do participate in their affiliate programs. But this not only applies to Berkey, and from a financial perspective it would have been better for us to recommend a different product as our top pick.
Screwed up the text comparison with Alexa Pur because ypu guexsed at it due to only having one , instead of two, as with the others
Sorry, there are so many typos in your comment that I'm not sure what you're trying to say (no offense).
Is the K19 okay?
Haven't tested this one yet.
How does this compare to Hydroviv?
We didn't get a chance to test Hydroviv yet.
I run my tap water through a reverse osmosis filtration syatem, then through ZeroWater before drinking it. I never had my filtered water tested but this video makes me want to test my water now.
If you do, please share your results with us! :)
@@boswater6065 Can you make a follow-up video with running the unfiltered water through ZeroWater first, then run the ZeroWater filtered water through the Costco/Kirkland brand pitcher? Theoretically, that would remove the copper from the ZeroWater filtered water and you would essentially have a better/cheaper/cleaner water out of the bunch. No?
@JtotheRizzo This might work, yes, but since our pitcher video, we've tested another ZeroWater filter element in the 32-cup dispenser and didn't find elevated copper levels. So it looks like this isn't always an issue.
@@boswater6065 Interesting... I also use the 32-cup dispenser. Both the pitcher style and larger dispenser style use the same filters so was it a matter of a bad filter or a bad/skewed test result for that particular filter? And with this new finding of 100% removal of copper, where does it put the ZeroWater in the rankings? FYI - I called ZeroWater's customer service in the past because of the slow filtration, and she said I needed to "hold the filter horizontally and shake it side to side for a minute or two (or vertically and shake up and down). That will remove/release the air pockets inside the filter that accumulates over time. This does help with speeding up and filtration time like if it was a new filter and does yield additional gallons but when you do this, test your water with the TDS often as the filter will eventually fail and you'll get the fishy smell. I've never officially measured it but it feels like it yields more than 40 gallons. I use ZeroWater's filtered water for drinking and for my humidifier (1 gallon capacity) for a family of 3. Take it for what it's worth.
@JtotheRizzo I don't think it was an issue with our lab test. Again, ZeroWater is the only of 11 pitchers that uses filter media based on copper, and it was the only with elevated copper levels in the filtered water. I think some of the filter media had leached - but this is just me speculating. The question is, how effective is contaminant reduction after 15-17, 20, 30, or even 40 gallons? I wouldn't necessarily rely on my taste buds for this because lead, for example, doesn't alter the taste of water. At the same time, this doesn't necessarily mean that the other brands are better...
Which of the 7 filters were provided for free? Very informative video, by the way. Thanks for providing the data spreadsheet.
Thank you and you're welcome! Provided for free: Big Berkey, Waterdrop King, Santevia system.
How does the filtration of countertop models compare to tankless under sink models?
Great question! I'd say filtration effectiveness is pretty equal. There were tiny differences but this might have to do with the fact that our before-vs-after lab testing doesn't provide 100% accurate results.
I tested BOS water RO systems and found toxic cancer causing chemicals in the RO system! Be careful!
We don't even sell our own systems.
Thank you so much for this comprehensive review. I am not sure if this was raised in the comments but looking at the waterdrop G3P600 the documentation recommends against using it for well water. I'm curious if you knew why they recommended that, looking at the filter stages I did not see a sediment filter stage, correct me if I'm wrong but perhaps that was the reason for the recommendation.
You're welcome! The G3P600 uses 2 sediment filter layers in the first filter cartridge. But the problem with well water is that it can be really dirty (or have other issues) so that it would clog up an RO system in no time. That said, depending on your specific well water supply you might be fine.
Will you be testing the Waterdrop TSU-W in the near future?
We're about to start testing the Waterdrop TSU together with a bunch of other under sink water filters. But it will be at least a couple of weeks until we will have a finished video.
Will you review the ispring rcc7ak too? Seems like a fairly popular system
The iSpring RCC7/RCC7AK is on our list, but we will test other filter types first before we get back to under sink ROs.
Question ... when comparing G3P600 to G3P800, on amazon it says that the G3P800 also has NSF/ANSI 53 certification while the 600 series does not? Is that accurate and if so, doesn't that make the 800 series a better filter? Thank you.
Great question! If you check the following links, you'll find that both G3P600 and G3P800 are certified against NSF standards 42, 53, and 58, and for the same contaminants. The only difference is that the G3P800 is also certified against NSF 58 for barium and radium 226/228 reduction. Links: pld.iapmo.org/file_info.asp?file_no=0014301 - pld.iapmo.org/file_info.asp?file_no=0014805 - pld.iapmo.org/file_info.asp?file_no=0013976
@@boswater6065 thanks... "G3P800 is also certified against NSF 58 for barium and radium 226/228 reduction." so how important is that? enough to pay extra $300 ? more info would be appreciated.
@igormord8636 This depends on your feed water. So far in our testing, we often found barium but never any radium. But this was only for 4 different water supplies. Personally, I wouldn't base my decision on the NSF certification for barium/radium. For me, the faster flow rate would be the main factor.
@ i'll save my 300 and wait extra 2 seconds to get a cup of water :-) thanks
The TDS out used to say 60-70 for my water and recently its been saying 9. Is there something wrong with the filters?
Hm, any chance that you also measured input water TDS before and after this change happened? In other words, maybe your feed water changed? It could also be the TDS sensor or something like that. If I were you I'd reach out to Bluevua about this.
Disappointed, Brita is full of blue paint chemicals and doesn't filter out all bad heavy metals. Brita and pure are the worst
You're still drinking microplastics
The problem is that we don't know of any RO system that doesn't use plastic.
So how are we supposed to trust you don't get kick backs for pushing one brand over another? I trust these online reviews as much as a fart after taco tuesday.
That's why we publish all lab reports so you can check yourself.
This is just awful
So is it legit at removing fluoride? I thought they listed that as being tested on their website 🤯
Although it's not certified against NSF standards for fluoride reduction we do think it's effective, but we don't know for how long in terms of gallons filtered.
Great video i just ordered this unit, thanks 😊 btw you are absolutely gorgeous 😍 your husband is a very lucky man!
You're welcome!
I have a two-stage undersink Aquasana that gets TDS readings of 170, put that filtered water through the Zero Water and get zero TDS for a couple of months, at least. The water tastes great, sweet like distilled. I’m the only drinker so less than a gallon a day. I was thinking the monitor is broken, the filters can’t last that long, but now that I write it out, it adds up.
