Thank you for pointing out that the Epic is not NSF certified, but only tested against NSF standards. Most marketing and reviewers don't make that distinction, leading buyers to believe that filters are NSF certified. Your review was very helpful!
Bought two of these back in early 2022... gave one to my brother, who succumbed to cancer 3 months later, and the other I use for myself. Best feature is you can pour with water in the reservoir.
Thank you for the video ! It was really helpful, here in Australia we have a really bad water situation, so I appreciate the step by step guide and how straightforward everything was !
Thank you for your excellent, honest review. I used the Clearly Filtered pitcher for a few years. As a light user, I had opted for the subscribe and save six month filter replacement but filter degradation between roughly months four and six was noticeable including decreased water taste, filtering even more slowly, and the filter adding algae to the water, (bottom of pitcher would build up with algae and had to clean weekly). With price of filter, to replace more frequently was getting to the point where I could buy the supermarket brand gallon spring water jugs for the same or not much more money. So I will try the Epic Pure pitcher. With the 20 percent subscribe and save and your coupon code, I was able to purchase the pitcher for $42 roughly half the cost of a new Clearly Filtered pitcher and the Epic filters with 20 percent off are cheaper as well so that I will try replacing every four months instead of six. Especially nice that you can return four used filters and get a new one for free. Hopefully in real life safety terms, I'm not giving up too much filtration, switching from Clearly Filtered to Epic.
Have a look at the modern castle review on these it’s very interesting. They sent of samples of tap water from Arizona tap water that contained lots of dodgy stuff including uranium to an independent laboratory and the epic came back as the 2nd best. Surprisingly brita did pretty good
I would love to say this is the most fabulous filter system ever, but I can't. The filters last no longer than one month. They indicate that with heavier use they could last perhaps 3 months. I just put a filter in last week, and it's already taking 20 minutes to drain. By day 30. 30. It will be over an hour to go from the reservoir to the water pitcher container for usage. If you want to talk to somebody at epic, that is impossible. They give a phone number, but they only have the ability to take voicemails. Nobody calls you back. They do eventually respond to email and are very generous about their return policy. But I would like to know what the issue is. Am I using it incorrectly? Seems impossible since I've been using Brita filters for years. But perhaps there is something special I need to be doing. At this point. I will finish the two left remaining filters I have and then go to a travel Berkey system. Disappointed is not a strong enough word.
Thanks for sharing. Very helpful! 20 to 30 minutes isn't that bad. Some pitchers are much slower than let's say a Brita, but that can be a good thing (unless you need to wait for hours obviously). Slower filtration means longer contact time between water and filter media which usually results in higher contaminant reduction.
Good review BOS water, I like all the points you make. Does the Epic filter that goes in the pitcher also works in their dispenser? And what are your thoughts about leaving pitchers or dispensers out on the counter vs in a refrigerator? 🤔 Our frig is packed and just easier to leave on counter.
Yes, same cartridges. On the counter is fine, as long as it's not sitting directly in the sun, room temperature is normal, and you don't let the water become stagnant.
Hi I was just wondering have you had the water independently tested because I just saw a review that for example says the nano does not filter as much fluoride as they state . Just wondering because I use the epic in a high fluoride area and now I am wondering if it really works … ?
Thank you for the review! I just bought this filter through Amazon because I didn’t know what filters to look for and it was just the simplest place to start. I was wondering how to actually clean it for first use and it’s nice to see someone physically do it. I know they say mild detergent but I think my family uses Ajax extra strength to clean dishes so I was wondering if soft hand soap would work as a substitute? Also I was opening it on the floor around carpet so I’ll probably have to rinse the filter 😢.
Their filters may be OK, but their service is CRAP! Orders take over a month to arrive and only after emailing back and forth and begging for them to dispatch it. I ordered three filters from them recently, weeks later, nothing. When I contacted them, they said it was "lost in the mail". Problem with that is that I never even got an email confirmation of shipment, so not sure how it "got lost". Then I get an email confirmation for one filter dispatch when I paid for three. I go back to them and tell them that I actually ordered three and could they just dispatch my three filters and this is the response I got: We cannot provide nor confirm the exact time frame or exact items, but we are doing our best to make sure that your order will be shipped out altogether as fast as we can. I wouldn't recommend. Time to find a new service.
Hey Nona, We are truly sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with receiving your replacement filters. We are not a large company, just a small team of under 10 people. Global logistics delays and rapid growth have really been hurting us and sometimes we can only get things in stock so fast. If you'd like to refund or return anything we'd be more than happy to take care of that for you!
@@EpicWaterFilters Your SORRY MEANS NOTHING! Your customer service leaves much to be desired. You NEVER give straight answers. You have lied and claimed orders shipped when they never did. Now I'm stuck with your jug and ZERO filters. Refund me for the jug which I can no longer use! Over $100 of an investment and nothing to show for it. Also you failed to mention that you CANCELLED my order altogether after a month of me waiting on it. WORST. SERVICE. EVER!
yes, they are certified by a totally real "independent and accredited third-party laboratory" that has not once been identified by name, not even on the performance data document that supposedly came from said laboratory.
Just what other person said. Their service is CRAP. When a problem occurred with their website and it would not allow me to update expired credit card info, it took 14 days of back and forth -- just to get them to update my credit card. Insane! I enjoyed my Epic pitcher so much, but now I just feel awful about how the company clearly doesn't care about customers. So disappointing.
They are based on Boulder, CO. As someone who lived there for 8yrs, the people there are not hard-working, they knock off at 4pm and go outdoors. Not surprised at all.

Excellent reviewer - informative, concise, natural and believable (not pushy, fake, used car salesish), and cover all the pros and cons. Thanks!

Thanks for commeting, Gary. We would love to hear your thoughts on differences in filtered water quality between Epic and Clearly Filtered!

We will do such a test as soon as possible. So no, no independent testing yet.
Great video does it remove essential good minerals like magnesium?
Based on our own lab testing, the Epic Pure doesn't really affect calcium, magnesium, and potassium levels.
It is very slow ? It is normal ? Should I return mine ?
How slow?

Hand soap should work as well. Just make sure to rinse thoroughly afterwards.
V. Helpful thank you!
I literally cannot get the lid on mine
I bought mine for 39$ on Amazon !? Did I get a dupe ?
I'm not 100% sure but it looks like they are selling their old pitcher design for cheaper right now. So I don't think that you got a dupe.
Solid review, thank you
Do both these remove plastic?
According to Epic's own testing, the Epic Nano removes 99.25% microplastics.
I just got mine and no water is glowing throught the filter, what am I doing wrong?!
Did you prime the filter cartridge?
Why nothing about psaf was mentioned?
Alexa did mention them when she listed the contaminants the Epic Pure/Nano is tested to remove.
