How Flexible Is A Glass Solar Panel?
That's similar to the LG resu keepalive, if I remember correctly. Interesting
Just curious if you made any progress with the Enerdel batteries? Mine is still sitting in my shed. As always very informative and interesting.
What canbus protocol are these running ?
Sick, this makes solar more viable in places like Washington. And this video is years old! I didn't even know about bifacial panels until a couple hours ago
Tell it like it is Chris!!! Good information
Thanks sir
i have ant bms as well. i have always had intermitten bluetooth issues but as of recently i can no longer connect no matter what I do. tried multiple phone. Im afrid to ask but does it sound like soemthing went bad? everything seems to be running smooth.
I would not stand too close to these, low cost, high frequency inverters without wearing EMF radiation proof underwear if I were you. The high-frequency EMF that is emitted by these low cost high frequency inverters is considered more potentially dangerous than the low-frequency EMF from low frequency inverters because higher frequencies carry more energy and can potentially damage cells and DNA more readily, especially when exposure levels are high; this is why radiation like X-rays and gamma rays, which are high-frequency forms of EMF, are considered ionizing and can be harmful to living tissue.
These are ok but I built my own system with double the capability at half the price.
Oh I bet! Looking back at what I spent I could have a hybrid system today, battery and all. But time changes things, in addition to better sourcing.
Bit coin mining as a dump load... brilliant. How much do the miners make a month?
Nice work in the review Thanks for making note of the new product that at this point seems defunct that's usually how it is they have a good solid product for years and then they come up with the new Gizmo and sometimes can lead to a complete product line loss I hope that's not the case cuz I've been recommending these controllers for years at least 6 years currently
My first inverter was a Growatt 12k, it failed after a couple of weeks and I had to send it back to be repaired. It was fixed but has tons of bugs and wont even function as a backup inverter without rebooting. I only use the charge controllers now and they throw errors all the time. I can't wait to take it out of service and throw it in the trash. I did recently purchase a 16000 xp and hope it will be a good experience. I mostly use Schneider inverters now but got the 16000 hoping it will run my AC.
Hi, Could you tell me that which one MPPT Solar Charge Controller is best for my 12V DC System. 01 easun mppt 60a 02 makeskyblue 60a 03 PowMr 60A Thanks...
I am using about 20kw a day, or 1kw per hour. I would need about 3-4kw solar panel; 6-8 hours sunlight x 3kw solar pnels =18-24kw energy collected daily.
You went over this unit really well! Nice video.
Do you install these for people
I realize your video is four years old, but was trying to see how you connected your solar panels. It looks like they’re connected in parallel and wondering if perhaps it’s better to connect them in series as I believe that’s how you achieve a higher voltage.
So I’m no expert in welding, but the research I did said the voltage collapses and self regulates indicating I’d be best off with putting the panels all in parallel. One day I’ll get some properly prepped metal and try again. See if I can get proper penetration :).
wow... I m that guy...I have a growatt 5k...Thinking of next unit
Ha ha I found you! Curious, what has you looking for something different? What does or doesn’t work well with the 5k?
Love your approach to discussion about this new XP ... For a novice at all this ,,, FYI - I am not using any solar ... I am using GRID to XP (LOAD) to a Critical Load breaker panel to service a portion of my house. Question #1 - If I can feed 100 Amps from the Grid to this inverter, why can I only get 50 Amps out to the LOAD ? Question #2 - I see there is a SMART LOAD option but can I combine the regular LOAD with the SMART LOAD to generate a 100 Amp combination out to the Critical Loan panel ? Question #3 - If the XP has a 100 Amp bypass and I have limited the Critical Load panel to 50 Amps (assuming the batteries are full) where does the other 50 Amps of the 100 Amps go ?
Oh sure so the way that works is if the grid is up and the inverter is in bypass mode using grid to power the loads then up to 100a can flow through from the grid to the loads. If the grid is down then the inverter can supply 50 amps (12kw) to the loads. If the grid is up and the inverter is supplying loads via battery and solar but loads call for more than 12kw/50a the inverter should drop into bypass mode and pull all of the energy from the grid instead of the inverter going into overload and shutting off.
11:17 is a good place ....
Please sir, mine shows 00 W meanwhile it is connected to the solar panels and the batteries are connected as well, it does not shoots electricity to the house, the power inverter makes a shriek sound when trying to power it on. Please help
What voltage shows on the controller for battery and solar?
lol If electricians had a calendar for their 'models', this dude would be December. lol ( my gf said he's cute af.. does not do good for my ego) lol
Ha ha made my day.
Really hit the nail. Voltage more important than amperage on mppt controller. Tried rearranging array to maximize voltage within limits. Recorded production, yes voltage working better than suggested arrangements.
For the 12000xp, do you guys see any issues starting with just 1 eg4 wall mount battery and then picking up another one later on for the recommended 400ah battery
It won’t hurt anything but it could be a nuisance. I had a 5kw 48v inverter connected to a battery that was 95a output. A circular saw would use more than that at startup and trip the inverter/battery.
Grid providers do not have the time or manpower to investigate individual consumption idiosyncrasies. Your entire streets power consumption is completely with the utilities margin of error.
I have multiple stories of people getting a knock on the door from the utility due to odd power usage. One was using an eg4 off grid inverter and it was back feeding the grid occasionally and the other had gone off grid so their monthly consumption was zero and utility had to come by and check they hadn’t bypassed the meter. Two different utilities. So yes they find the time apparently.

I wonder could you dc contactor on roof that would shut down power coming from roof
You should ask for likes and subscribe so your RUclips goes up
Put wheels on it
I would buy all your solar now as Trump's tarrifs may add 60% to the price
So, how (in ballpark terms) is the critical load panel separated out of the system in the hybrid inverter setup. For example, lets say I have a dedicated branch for my refrigerator in my main panel but want to be able to run it from solar/battery if the grid is down. Does the critical load panel splice into the existing wiring, back feed the mains, or do circuits in the critical loads panel need an entirely new cabling run from the critical loads panel to the appliance?
The way it works is the critical loads panel connects to the load output of a hybrid inverter. That way the inverter can flip a relay and isolate the critical loads panel from the grid.
Just bought me a 6000xp for a fun project, looking forward to seeing how it works.
I am thinking about that as well but I am in the fence now. 12k is more than 6k inverter!
Remove 2 panels and you have 1 string, insane pv , 38x 745w (warree?) panels to max out, or 56x 500w panels, 10k in panels on sale. 3kw+pv in heavy rain with dark clouds. This is going to fuel my solar addiction, Lux enablers.
still a HF invertor, even though I have the 6000XP and use it for my mini splits, I wonder if it will last as long as my Victron 48v 3000 va lf invertor ""powers the house loads" I bought the 6000XP as it was too good of a deal to pass up.
You can run a 5 ton air conditioner on this thing with ease. And not worry about the well pump kicking in at the same time either.
@@davefroman4700 I think the question was about longevity between Victron and EG4
Thank you for the awesome breakdown! This is gonna be one heck of a unit.
Good stuff Mr Beene.
The 5 year warranty on this XP model is a show stopper IMO. The KPV's have a 10 year warranty.
Curious your thoughts on that. I think the grid the inverters have to be 10 years for financing and installers as they have minimums. I was looking at midnite and outback and it seems they are standard at 5 year. I mean don’t get me wrong 10 is better but maybe 5 is the industry standard for off grid.
What gauge is the wires that comes from the bms to the batteries? Thanks
I’m just hoping they come out with a 3kW LuxPower variant to replace the 3000EHV
Exporting power, It is critical for the inverter to sequence the sinusoidal waveform with the grid. If it connects and is out of phase there is a short circuit up to the capacity of the inverter.
Is 70w ideal consumption a lot?
No I think it’s reasonable. I was only ranting that it’s slightly higher than the 6000xp.
In off grid mode you can run a generator as input to charge the batteries.
Oh yeah that’s how you free up the gen port for an ac coupled device or smart load right? And off grid mode prevents back feeding the generator through the grid port. So many settings to change, lol.
why only 5 year warranty? Will it only last that long? interested in it but want something that will last
5 years seems to be standard for off grid inverters. Midnite and Outback are the same.
I which they had more variety of inverter like an 8k or 10k😔
I'm curious what the noise level is with this machine compared to two 6000xps.
Yes I’m excited to see as well.
