Thank you - he was indeed very awesome !

Ooooh no that isn't Luna (but you can see how the white colour is popular in this family) - that white one from Epicurus litter number 2 is Milky Way (born in April 2021) - we kept her for a few months and she had a litter with Dasher (dad of Mercury and Coco) and that litter also had an ultra cute white one - Mini-Milk. Milky Way and Mini-Milk went off together, as we had (by April 2022) a Teddy pure breed female from Epicurus - that one WAS Luna. We did hope that Luna would continue our Teddy line, but her one and only pregnancy didn't work out in early 2023, and she was somewhat ill after (we 100% felt she couldn't do all that again - so she is in happy retirement here now for the rest of her life)......so we got her sister Xenocrates out from her pregnancy retirement and she had a successful litter with Mr Lightning and that resulted in Democritus.....Xenocrates was then fully retired from any further litters.

Yes, there was a fair bit of the agouti markings.......we could line them us with weak agouti to strong agouti markings - I think we did - from Dad at one end to Princess Snowflake on the other end with the babies in the middle.

@@bucksguineapigtalks So adorable!! And as they grow, the agouti markings become more prominent. For example, when Stripe was a baby, her fur looked all smooth. But now, she is a total Crazy Hair piggy 😂🥰🥰😂

I have no idea at all !!! Put two mums and two litters together and they know who is who, BUT cheeky babies WILL try to feed off the other mum - we've seen this happen. I think it is really only when the youngsters are very young and both litters are the same age (give or take 3-5 days) - we had this with Plato and Epicurus litters in early Sept 2020.....which we have on video somewhere !

The beautiful Epicurus - when we lost Socrates, we were able to get her granddaughter Epicurus......and she went in with Gingerbread (who had been in with Socrates just a few days earlier !!!!!!)

@@Furrydreams yes, she was the daughter of Plato/Cromwell & so also a half-sister of Marshmallow. She had 2 litters with us in 2020, then went off to live a happy life with a daughter from the 2nd litter (video is of the 1st litter). No youngsters kept of either litter. If I remember correctly we let Princess Snowflake go, as her mum had had Hercules (a male) who we kept…..then we paired him with Stardust and they had Myrtle. Cromwell & the Dalmatian Squeak Squeak also left us in late Oct 2020, and a couple of younger ones came in. It’s all about balance and we have far far fewer youngsters now than before.

What happened to Hercules ?

@@Furrydreams he went off (May 2022) with his 2 sons (from Bumble……daughter of Xenocrates - 1st litter born June 2021). Hercules and his boys are very happy together. We get updates every few months and photos.

Oh yes, she was - such a lovely one. Her and her grandmother Socrates were always getting their gender mixed up by the vets when we took them their !

She was stunning - A created Lilac (but she had a bit of a darker grey in her - you might see that on this video or one of the others). A very friendly Guinea Pig - very similar to her Great Granddaughter Mercury.

Her dad was also a big chunky piggy ! Cromwell.

You are so kind ! Yes, a truly lovely litter - we were so lucky - this was their first time out on the grass - a VERY mild late March afternoon - they only went out for a few mins while we cleaned out the cage.

Thank you so much - he was utterly sensational. We 'borrowed' him from our friend, and she offered him to us for 'keeps' after 6 months, but to be honest, he'd been with about 4 of our female Guinea Pigs and we had no others available !!! His character has flowed down to his two daughters that we still have - Stardust and Xenocrates.
