- It's now time to wrap up this Series with one final Part, here we discuss the 3 babies, what happens next and our thoughts on mum Democritus. As my fabulous camera lady is off for a couple of days, and the weather was rubbish outside and the young male is soon to leave his mum and siblings, we did this video on a bit of a 'last minute' plan ! It's still 100% awesome.....
It's now Day 25 with the awesome Democritus trio ! Filmed on Thursday 25th July 2024. This is the FINAL part of our Series on the Pregnancies of Democritus and Moondust.
Potentially, they might be out on the grass together for a LIVESTREAM or two, but this is the last video of them all together. Depends how long before the male starts rumbling.......he's still shy and quiet - everything is ready to move him out. If he had a brother, we'd have taken them both out yesterday.

They are now at Day 25 - with this lovely trio from Democritus - highly keen, curious and super confident. Comfortable with their wider family - Xenocrates and Luna.
This is PART FIFTEEN of our SECOND video series on the pregnancy journey of our Guinea Pigs. These are planned Pregnancies. Two females and One male in this litter - the male will be removed from his sisters in the next 24 hours.
For this series, we will be following our Females Democritus and Moondust - Dad of the litters will be Figaro. He was the Dad to the first litter that Democritus had earlier in 2024. We introduced the three together on Sunday 7th April 2024.
Sadly, the pregnancy that Moondust had, didn't result in babies ! She delivered her two on Friday 19th July 2024, but neither were alive. These things do happen, and we felt it important to cover many of the issues and give a Moondust update (See Part 12). She is looking fine, and healthy, we will of course keep a very close eye on her in the coming days.
Guinea Pigs are Rodents and also are called Cavy's. Female Guinea Pigs are Sows and Male Guinea Pigs are Boars.
This is the fifteenth video - all is wonderfully good with the young Democritus trio as you can see !

We are gradually gaining Subscribers and the Long Video views ARE going up - overall the figures are improving, I can see that in the Analytics and Dashboard - really delighted with things. All nice and positive and we're enthused to keep things moving onwards. Watch Hours HAVE gone up - 38 additional hours from yesterday - but even at 921 we are still a bit away from 4000...............but 921 is closer than if we were at 0 or 1 !

Ah thank you - Democritus has a lot of time for them all. This is very likely her last litter, and she has been great. We'll name the 'keeper' to everyone soon - she is also a delight.
The young male will have a friend soon arriving here, we'll bond them together as a pair of males, and then they are off to a very good 'forever home' - the new owners are very well researched and very excited. (we always answer questions our new owners have....at whatever point).

Scary isn't it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Saturday is a maybe for Livestreaming - and Sunday is a likely yes for Livestream.
Just arranging things with the young male in the litter with our friend at the moment, so he's a maybe for appearing on Saturday or the Sunday videos......if he's NOT rumbling ! Sunday is the absolute final day he'll be with his family. Sometimes they are slower to develop, and as there is only one male, he doesn't have a brother who might start rumbling earlier ! Playing it very much by ear at present. We have spare cages and grass runs when we split him.

As your profile picture you have a piggy who is it ? He or she is very gorgeous.
Ah yes, she is Marshmallow - mum of Stardust, daughter of Mummy.
Marshmallow is quite young in that profile pic. When she was born, she didn't have the black markings - her Dad (Cromwell) - was also a Californian......hence the black nose and darker ears. She passed away in March 2023.
The recent Democritus trio, they have Californian genes (as does their mum Democritus and their dad Figaro) - so we should see their noses darken in the coming weeks !
Marshmallow was a lovely piggy, never one that was hugely confident, she was in the crowd , not out in front. She got on well with Storm really well - Storm was her Great Great Granddaughter.
How much do the babies weigh now?? They used to be only 100 grams, but look way bigger now ❤❤❤❤
266g - 301g that was LAST Sunday.......they are too big for the mugs !
