It is exciting news, it's nice when they are born in the summer months - they look so cute running on the grass and squeaking away ! Oh that would be perfect with 2 females. We ideally need 2 females from Democritus and 1 from Moondust. Our friend who lent us Figaro is very keen for a female Teddy. But we'll run Democritus/Figaro together a 3rd time IF we don't get the two females - but that'd be in a good few months time. That's it completely for Democritus after any 3rd litter or if she has 2 females in this 2nd litter - she is already a good size, so hopefully the 2nd litter will be her lot.
Thank you - they took their time - but 100% most importantly, Democritus and Moondust are both extremely healthy and comfortable. Everything is as good as it can be. Figaro is very relaxed and he's put on the most weight !!!! He'll stay with us for a bit longer - just to get photos with him and Democritus and him and Moondust. He won't be around here when any are born - so we don't expect to have 'family line-up pics' ! We should have timescales quite soon - this is what we are being asked. We do already have interested people on any youngsters, and we intend to keep a female youngster from both Moondust and Democritus - and our friend who lent us Figaro, she also would like a female from Democritus. Exciting times ahead - we hope to see little youngsters on our grass in the coming weeks............
Awww thank you for your kind comment. Yes, certainly we are onto the next stage of things. Fingers crossed all will be fine - we are delighted and they are fun going on the grass together. Figaro is staying for a bit longer, we are not (as yet) certain how different Democritus and Moondust are on their dates, but I expect Democritus will be back in with her mum Xenocrates and Luna soon. We'll take a load of photos of her and Figaro beforehand - I don't think he'll still be here when she delivers. We'll see - our friend isn't calling him back as yet. He's put on a bit of weight being with us, he's had a great time.

Ah what lovely names - yes, it's all quite exciting here - obviously Democritus was showing quite a few days ago - Moondust being 'almost almost' a Dalmatian is some-what a skinny piggy....so we had to rely on weights and the last few weeks she has been up and down on the scales. Last Sunday was a yes from her and the last few days just picking her up, she feels more 'full' inside - a long way to go though. We'd happily have 2/2 on each litter. We do already have a bit of a 'waiting list' and we have our own 'keep requirements' - so long as people have the knowledge, space, time and capacity - then breeding at a sensible low level is fine. This is how we do it and I'm also speaking to a kids group tomorrow evening. So it's a bit educational as well - we'll cover this side of things in a future video....the 'crazy crew' are on the job tomorrow evening ! Thank you Sarah - a fair way to go, but so far, so good. Not sure what a Moondust / Figaro litter will look like, but maybe a version of Storm with 'hidden' teddy genes !
@@sarahCowley-cc4fg absolutely yes. Figaro is currently looking at Honeyduke - as they are all on the grass ! (in different cages) 🤣 - I wonder what he is thinking.......🤣

Yes - all being well, they will be half-siblings. Not sure on what Moondust/Figaro youngsters might be like, maybe a slightly 'washed look' of the Dalmatian colours - the more she has, the wider the spread of different types (potentially) - although this wasn't the case with the Bella litter in December 2023, when all 4 looked almost identical ! We might get a smooth/Teddy mix, but very unlikely - more likely is that they would all be smooth....but they will have Teddy genes. Stardust is a half-Teddy.....none of the other three from her birth litter looked Teddy. But when we put Stardust with a Teddy in 2022 - her litter of 6, was a 3/3 smooth/teddy split. We shall see, so far, so good - all is well.
